Even though I haven't watched the video in full, I just want to say I'm really appreciative of these hour+ videos that you've been putting out lately, John. Love seeing you play games in general, but I REALLY love seeing you play games for a extended period of time in a single sitting.

It's perfectly fine in my opinion that you hid there during the retro hour, just like the previous game that was just a load of bullshit where RNG would make it literally impossible to win, and that's what killed the original game for me, that and the fact that it would cheat (where the final game would spawn Emily inside rooms you already checked). This does seem like a step up, however the final Emily game was just as terrible.
I like the whole thematic uploading you've got going on. Though you might have felt having missed games is a negative, you're turning it into a positive.

Good grief, the restroom part needed some Yakety Sax playing. Those dolls bursting in and out were hilarious. XD I liked the variety of enemies and the different games, but it felt nowhere near as streamlined and polished as the first one. Both appear to have their ups and downs. I have no intention of playing either since they're not my genre of games, but I can appreciate what they seem to do right, and hope they continue to improve with their next games.

I've been binge listening (sometimes watching) for weeks as well. I've been re-building my bed (not quite done yet, the hand tied springs was the longest bit), and made a panel for the sliding glass door to put a cat flap in and it's been nice listening to a constant familiar something and watching when I take breaks. I just went to his channel, uploads, and clicked play all. lol

Alright so, from the demo I expected this game to be a gigantic pile of shit, but honestly I think it was rather alright? I thought a lot of the dolls' mechanics were fair and easy to understand, and I like how the player was allowed to discover how they worked and their short "lores" through the documents in the beginning - thought it was pretty well executed. The gameplay itself is however atrociously monotonous, boring and sometimes downright frustrating with some of the literally impossible to counter combinations of enemies, once you hit the last hour. At the end of the day I don't particularly like or even care for this game, but I went in expecting something significantly worse than what I got, and as such I think credit definitely is due - let's just hope the inevitable third one learns from the shortcomings of the first two and becomes an at least pretty good horror game.

The gameplay itself is however atrociously monotonous, boring and sometimes downright frustrating with some of the literally impossible to counter combinations of enemies, once you hit the last hour.
At the end of the day I don't particularly like or even care for this game, but I went in expecting something significantly worse than what I got, and as such I think credit definitely is due - let's just hope the inevitable third one learns from the shortcomings of the first two and becomes an at least pretty good horror game.

....I think her saying MA MA, is her echolocation. Like a bat. How else can she walk with no eyes, without feeling the walls? Echolocation, and calling for a mama. And even if the mama she wants is long gone, she can't break this habit, and try echoing another sound.
