As a pac-man main, Tea is by far my favorite to watch. I learn something new every set he plays

This was a joy to watch. I haven't seen a lot of expert Pac-Man sets, and I hardly ever encounter him online, so it's nice to see what kind of trouble you can get into. My method vs Pac-Man is usually to interrupt him switching items, attack the fire hydrant before he can, and stay out of the path of his projectiles or try to catch them and send them back.
A good Pac usually is fine with letting the opponent hit the Hydrant. Very few attacks that aren't smashes are enough to oneshot it so you're just letting him get the second hit to break it.
Of course Marss and Esam would react to tea being fellow rivals

11:40 I just realized this is the second time I've seen Tweek die on last stock, Game 5 for pulling out banana. When he survived Sparg0's Pyra up B at Port Priority, he did the same thing and Sparg0 punished it. xD
Pacman is stupidly fun dispite me not maining him. It's fun to play him from time to time

I’ve been saying it since I mained the character , Pac-Man is absolutely broken he’s one of the only characters who absolutely has to hit the blast zone or he coming back and people don’t even know but melon kills at like 130 140 - can literally toss it out and follow up with some crazy combinations because they either respect it and move or you can react to whatever they do

When marss said that having to be in game mentality is hard is hella true now I don’t play smash at a top level but I play a vr game professionally and our games can last 40 minutes so we’re constantly in a game mentality in case ur wondering what game it is it’s echo vr

Kirby can combo into his final smash with forward throw. Pikachu and Pichu can also do it with down throw short hop final smash.
A lot of characters can do that. But he was making a joke that only Pac can do it in a competitive match since its a joke that his f smash is as strong as a Final Smash.
wadi's not here, now I don't know which of pac-man's moves are the ones that get ya :(

Tea and Tweek are two of my 3 favourite players. Props toTweek for doing so well in a match-up he’s not comfortable in. I love Tea and hope he makes huge upsets in future and at Summit!

At 3:17 Marss says "imagine being able to punish pacman fair" as Roy shields, drops shield, and jabs it.
Did Tea fuck up/Kola got the read? That's a lot of frames to punish lol.
Kola read hed do something aggressive and shielded. Just looked it up and pac man fair is -6 on shield and roys jab is frame 8 out of shield. So Kola just predicted it and buffered jab outta shield to kill him. Nothing tea couldve done after committing.
I think Tea was fine if he waited a little longer to fair and/or fastfell
(checking UFD...) If pacman doesn't land, it's around -16 on shield, which is how long it takes for roy to jab OOS. But Marss isn't a nerd, so he doesn't know that.
Plus, jair is a strong punish.

You know Tea is a top 5 or 6ish player when MKLeo pops off after beating him in Frostbite 2020.

Pac-man is honestly such an underrated character. While Pac-man does do the same thing over and over again with the hydrant and bell, he's gonna be a top tier before we all know it.

I’m pretty sure at least 80% of Tweeks reason to go back to playing cloud in ultimate was because if pac man. That way he won’t have to waste thirty minutes of his life.

@@surdine6671 yeah Cloud MU is even, whereas Wolf is one of our worst. Still not unplayable by any means, Pac is a top tier after all, but definitely a better pick.
@@surdine6671 Check out his TH-cam channel, lots of cloud related content. And cloud Pac-Man is a horrendous matchup for Pac-man since cloud is extremely good against zoners, I mean you remember spargo versus tea? And I mean wolf isn’t bad against zoners, but tweek has shown to not be very confident in his wolf when he thinks his Diddy can do a better job even when the match up is against them. Since cloud has that huge advantage against zoners, it’s a no brainer to use him instead if Diddy when he wants his run back.

Second I MAIN the character competitively and have for 3 years. His whole gimmick is his kit is a double edged sword but you can punish people for trying to catch your Fruit at certain ranges, and he has incredible scrap tools like nair, fair and dash attack. Hydrant is amazing for midrange since it forces people to play around it, which Pac is amazing at punishing, and has several escape tools in case that doesn't work such as the aforementioned as well as stuff like Galaxian and Bell from hand. Its kind of exploitable but when used right it is extremely hard to do so.

Cloud does very well against Pacman. Like the kind of bad matchup that requires a secondary. Not even worth playing.

Meta Knight, Meta Knight is broken in terms of tier list placement but also in terms of moves working, like he's not top tier because up b doesn't connect, unlike ZSS. *MK STILL B META*
If the character requires work is it broken? Pac obviously requires the time put in. The only thing that might be a bit off legitimately is the weight, but maybe Tea is also just a god at DI along with that.
Pacman really isn't that hard lol the combos aren't super difficult and his gameplan is prettt basic. it's just understanding set play for the most part
And anyway, a xharacter being hard to play doesn't mean theyre not broken. it just means it takes more work for them to be broken

@@lokks2130 As someone who main the character and has been solo maining for basically the entire game's lifespan... yes and no. The bread and butters aren't that hard, but optimizing them and getting the opponent in positions where you squeeze as much damage out of certain combos and setups as you can takes some real quick thinking.

Pac-Man forward smash launch distance is fucking ridiculous. It sends you WAY too far in a really unfair angle where he could easily edge guard you.
I understand how and why Pac-man is top tier, but the flaw of learning Pac-man is that he's pretty difficult

He calls it Pac-Man's final smash because it's the last attack he needs to end the game.
50% of why Pacman is broken is because trying to pick up the bell as the opponent is so risky and just not worth most of the time. Let him keep his dummy frame data, recovery, grab and so on, but make bell easier to pick up. (Applies to Gyro too)

Pac man is not broken. Hes too slow, air speed is slow, grab is laggy, smash attacks are laggy 9:37, he has no zoning capabilities because none of his projectiles can be spammed fast enough.
Pac man is a free form trap character and because of that he requires high skill to have success with him.
Tea knows this thats why he often gets opponents at extremely high percentages 9:02 because hes been trying to secure kills using setups (9:10 hydrant , apple) cause smash attacks at too laggy (9:37 misses smash attack from a distance)
As a Pac-Man main, yeah he has his weaknesses but he absolutely is broken. Its just that he has a ton of ways to make up for those weaknesses. Such as yes, we don't have amazing anti airs, but we still have godlike options from dashback. And him being slow doesn't mean a whole lot since he is usually the one forcing approaches anyway. He has insane damage, godlike neutral, and can slow the game to a crawl. This dude is top tier for a reason, and part of that reason is having some of the best boxing tools in the game while also having some of the best camping as well.
And yes, he doesn't have spammable projectiles, but he doesn't need them to maintain a zone. His area denial is top tier.

@@KotaWebb Pac-Man can definitely zone well with combinations of his fruits and hydrant, but his zoning is still outclassed by other zoners, mainly because plenty of characters can punish hydrant placements super hard
What is this nonsense lmao pacmans the best zoner and it's not even close. You're an actual scrub if you think that lacking fast spamming projectiles means you have no zoning capability lmao, slower projectiles are literally better most of the time
"Oh this is laggy, that is laggy, he's too slow wahhh" nobody cares. Still broken. Y'all will always say something is laggy but never bring up the situations it's being used in and how it compliments the rest of his kit.
Name 10 meta relevant characters that can invalidate hydrant. Wolf, Byleth, Min Min, Shulk, Ike, Bowser and who else? Almost every character just has to deal with it, and even then for characters who can beat hydrant there's no ambiguity when you're approaching pacman behind hydrant so you just become predictable, he just outframedatas you and you reset
The bell is way too good. Please nerf. Why does it hit you when it’s falling from orbit and not just from his throw
They gave his Fruits the ability to retain their properties in return for removing infinite z drop stuff from Sm4sh. If you're talking about when he throws it and its going straight down then I personally think that's fair, it's the lingering that gets ridiculous.

@@vick7868 no shot. Galaxian isn't nearly as useful as bell, or as useful as those others I listed. Galaxian has one combo tree at only low mid percents and is pretty inconvenient to recatch. Meanwhile banana sets up for anything at any percent, can be regrabbed, thrown in any direction, etc.

Galaxian has multiple combo trees as a wide variety of percents, leads to kills with the Ginko at like 50% if you're good enough to set it up, is piercing, and is not inconvenient at all to recatch in the same combo since you're usually doing in with a combo extending attack anyway. Either Bell or Galaxian is the best item in the game free. You get 0-65 combos off that thing easy if you know what you're doing, plus you can just infinitely recatch and throw again if you want, unlike Banana which goes away after a set number of throws and must be spawned again and recaught itself.
I despise pacman, but Tea is so fucking good that I HAVE to appreciate the sauce he brings.

Because the two characters play very different games. Wolf is a jack of all trades, Pac is a technical setplay character.

9:37 i get pac man f smash is strong but its really not as crazy as you noobs make it out to be. It's not a reliable kill option because its so laggy and my point is proven here. Pac man missed one f smash and diddy was able to kill with down tilt and back air.
