Personally I think there's a possibility that the Parish Finale is actually not canon and only exists to create a finale in game because numerous things happen that are out of character and just don't really make sense. Most of all I just do not see Nick agreeing to cross the bridge. It's a certain death sentence, lab rat duty or at the very least prison sentence. Any chance of that would go away when the guy specifically says 'Are you equipped for carriers' and they've seen all the anti carrier graffiti in the city and anti carrier sentiment in general? Firmly putting two and two together? That they themselves are the so called feared 'carriers' in a way that is so obvious it can't be ignored? I think Nick (and anyone else sensible) would be like nope, nope, nope, nope! *flees* Nick values his freedom very highly. Coach if you listen carefully is in very fierce denial about the military. Rochelle has no opinions on this whole thing in game and almost no dialogue for it which is extremely disappointing and makes no sense given her role as a producer and working in the news but this is the whole problem with her character but that's another discussion. If it were up to me? I'd have Nick state that crossing the bridge is equal to suicide. Rochelle would be reluctantly convinced of this while Coach would be in denial, having come all this way just to find this? It couldn't be right, why would people in charge of law and order murder innocent people. They'd argue. Rochelle would mediate but I think Ellis would suddenly pipe up with his calm, serious voice full of sudden fear, a trait which he doesn't display very often and he speaks about all the things they found, all the bodies, all the graffiti and then he'd recall what Francis told him 'Good luck with that, we'd have enough of the military', those words would suddenly have meaning. This would snap Coach to reality and they'd come up with a plan B. They'd remember the plan that Zoey, Francis and Louis had and try to reunite with them or at least, find an island that is safe or safer for the time being.
Coach finds a burger tank, and becomes the one man cheeseburger apocalypse. He then unleashes his unholy melted cheese powers on the military, killing everybody, including the survivors. The end.
Like I have said before. If we don’t get a military base level in Left 4 Dead 3 (if its ever made) then they are missing out on making what would probably be one of the most memorable levels in a zombie game. Having special skins for the zombies and a type of bullet resistance that is weaker then a swat zombie, but still strong enough that it takes more then one AK shot. Special infected that have evidence of being tested on/changing extremely fast with scrapes on military clothing. Bringing back the Sacrifices Tank Model. Having armored vehicles left abandoned or had been overrun. Weapons everywhere of the military personal who had turned and just left them at their feet. And much more. Also maybe having it where there is the constant background in which you can hear a constant battle of the surviving military trying their best to survive agasint the enviable.
You know this sounds like a hella great idea. In L4d2 in developer mode one of the guys gives his email address to contact him. Even I thought about actually emailing him and trying to get in touch for a 3rd game... I had a similar idea and some more ideas for infected.
It's not like any of my idea's are new or extravagant. Many people have thought of similar concepts throughout the years. Though I will look into the emailing thing though.
@@user-kh9qc8ef4s *bill is relieved to see his old friends, but is terrified that he can’t find a generator to fix, or a pallet to defend himself with.
I don't think Valve would just kill off the L4D2 survivors. Wouldn't make sense in the story. Why would the Military risk being infected or rekt by a Tank, to just rescue some survivors and then kill them off. It also wouldn't sit well with the community. Bill was a loved character and he got killed, but it had a good reason. He was the eldest of the group. He cared for his team. He couldn't just let them die. He sacrificed himself. It's not like he got back to the bridge, was climbing to safety, then some military heli passed by and shot him for the lolz. The only way I see one of the L4D2 survivors dying would be by a sacrifice again. Even then, a sacrifice wouldn't be too necessary. If I had to choose someone to die, it'd be Rochelle, and only because she doesn't have as much of personality in the game as the others.
Virtual LunarSolar That's a great point, but because of Rochelle's mostly uninteresting personality her sacrifice wouldn't be as impactful as Bill's was. That's the kicker. If one of the LFD2 survivors had to make a sacrifice, I'd love it if it were Nick. He's cocky, arrogant and his morality is questionable to say the least. It's perfect. Imagine the story arc that'd come with that also, something that not immediately but clearly starts to change him. Eventually leading to a point where you think they'll pull a LFD and kill off Coach since he's the oldest, but then Nick comes out of nowhere and sacrifices himself. I don't know maybe I'm just spewing hot air here but I think that'd be pretty cool
Brandon Grisanti I'm not saying Rochelle would be the one sacrificing, I meant that out of the 4, she'd be the one I wouldn't mind seeing go. Nick has had character development. Coach is awesome and funny, and the leader. Ellis is funny and quirky. He's the one who makes the group lively. He's like a Francis. There for comic relief. Most of the time.
I still think you should have been able to defib Bill in the Passing finale and have him get up and join the other 3 survivors who cover you near the bridge. If the defib can revive someone who has been marinating in swamp water for over 10 min with no pulse (by getting shocked while still below the surface of said water might I add), then it should be able to revive Bill :)
I can only imagine Ellis in the helicopter Ellis:did I ever tell you ,bout the time me and Keith were pranking peopl.... Pilot:fuck this *flies into a building* EDIT:ok Jesus Christ it wasn’t THAT funny But thanks for 400 likes 😊
i suppose you can hope the lack of it means left 4 dead 3 but most likely not. But ye if they knew there would not be a third a comic at least giving some closure would be nice.
So.they can freely continue the story if they were to make l4d3.. and besides thats the thing that keeps people to wanting more.. like how you want the story to continue and have a closure
Voiced? As in the survivors voices? No. All the lines said in Cold Stream are from previous campaigns. The developers of Cold Stream placed different vocal cues at different points in the campaign to make it feel more real. Ex: Coach: "The fire's spreading!" Rochelle: "Does anyone know which way we should go?" Coach says this in Dead Center. Rochelle says this in Swamp Fever. You can easily access their vocal cues online. This map is not canon, at all.
The infection likely does keep mutating probably to where not only the already existing specials turn into more fearful versions of themselves like for example the Smoker after a while might have more control over his tongues in L4D2 we do see that extra one hanging outside of his head so after a while the Smoker after snaring a victim might be able to utilize that to help speed up the process of killing them instead of just using his claws along with the tongue. As for future types there could be a new type of uncommon infected that has a bunch of flies covering its body from head to toe acting as some kind of type of armor since flies are drawn to the smell of rotting corpses and that's exactly what undead are rotting corpses these flies would of made a hive inside of the infected's own body and in order to remove the infected you'd have to burn it as the flies would make trying to shoot him impossible. Another could be a different type of special infected like the scrapped dogs (sorry Zach but I don't see this kind of infection leaving animals out just because Valve says it too) they will behave like the Witch only instead of one there will be four like they're in a pack and if you disturb any of them the whole pack will get up and go after the person that disturbed them and just like an expert Witch they will instantly kill you if they catch you.
Yes currently however what's to say IF the next installment was to take another week after L4D2 the next one could take five years after L4D2 with a completely different formula to the infection.
Amazing video! This is actually *VERY* interesting, and I'm not even into the Left 4 Dead lore as much anymore. I own both L4D's, but don't play any and this video made me kind of want to play it again... :/
This was valves plan the whole time, they make 1 amazing unique game, and that gets a sequel with many new things, a crossover between the two and new survivors in different parts of the US. then they leave it for about 10 years
When I think about it, L4D2 was probably the best looking game of that time. The resolution and texture quality on models was ludicrous and the body dismemberment and blood physics were ahead of their time. It still holds up very well even now....and to think its 10 years old.
what could happen is that while on the plane at the end of the parish, a tank throws a rock or a small car at the plane knocking it down into the ocean and meet up with the other 3 survivors with vergal( the guy with the boat on swamp fever and hard rain
lowtech 12 I agree that is a good theory... It's swamp fever and then the parish... Virgil took them to the parish and went back for more survivors... What if he was picking someone up and he got infected????!?!? 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨
0:59 Honestly why I lived Coach's character so much. Very blunt but funny af and an interesting dialect. Lol what a solid fella lol Love the vid man keep it up
Well since theyre carriers, there are 3 possible endings. A. They got killed, to avoid further spreading. B. They got cured. C. The pilot turned, and the infection speads to New Orleans.
Man, we need Left 4 Dead 3. Such an interesting story, not only because of the virus and Ceda, but the characters from both games are really interesting
They could be imprisoned or gunned down, or they might realize their mistake trusting the military and escape the military base somehow. Considering how evil the military always depicted in every Zombie stories.
j1a2y3m4y5 The Military have many uses for carriers. They are the ultimate weapon against the infection one way or another. They are essentially tools the army can use for clean up and rescue operations (Although the latter would be risky considering they can still transmit the Green flu). The military might also be rescuing carriers to tie up loose ends, killing them off so the infection doesn't spread again if they manage to retake the East Coast.
There's a picture, can't remember the name, Against a Wall I think. Showing the survivors of L4D2 against a wall with laser sights hovering over their chests. What really makes it tragic is the expressions on their faces. Ellis is completely heartbroken, Nick is furious and aggressive, Coach is stoic and unflinching, Rochelle has her eyes squeezed closed so she doesn't have to see it. Beautiful and depressing.
Well at least we know what happened to Bill. The entity took him and now he's running away from monsters while repairing generators. With all that combat experience, you'd think he would grab a hatchet from a locker and use it to fight.

What always weirded me out was when the guy on the radio says “Rescue 7, are you equipped for “carriers?” He literally calls them carriers, and in left 4 dead carriers are hated by a lot.
The outcome of them running out of rations is slim, the military would obviously have massive amounts of supplies, there'd be a farm (or garden) in the outpost, the scientists would examine the survivors and possibly use samples of their DNA. Not only that, the military taking survivors to an outpost and killing them, would really damage them.

They'd remember the plan that Zoey, Francis and Louis had and try to reunite with them or at least, find an island that is safe or safer for the time being.
what a nice and long theory

Valve is lazy creating new games
But we have Back 4 Blood now. People call it L4D3 and it actually looks dope

Virtual LunarSolar holy shit! Did you Copy&Paste that Shit, or Write that *Hole Fucking 3 Paragraphs?!*
Spider Boy: RELOADED Wrote it. And not on a keyboard, but a phone
Virtual LunarSolar *H0LY FUCK DO YOU HAVE SONIC IN YOUR DNA?!*
Nick adopted Ellis, coach turned into Shrek and came back for Ellis and there's nothing on Rochelle
Me: *gets sad whenever I'm reminded of Bill's death*
I still think you should have been able to defib Bill in the Passing finale and have him get up and join the other 3 survivors who cover you near the bridge.
If the defib can revive someone who has been marinating in swamp water for over 10 min with no pulse (by getting shocked while still below the surface of said water might I add), then it should be able to revive Bill :)
This is still true btw

I just don't understand why Valve never answered any of these questions in some sort of comic or even a cinematic.
i suppose you can hope the lack of it means left 4 dead 3 but most likely not. But ye if they knew there would not be a third a comic at least giving some closure would be nice.
So.they can freely continue the story if they were to make l4d3.. and besides thats the thing that keeps people to wanting more.. like how you want the story to continue and have a closure
Dude gaben said in ti8 dota: what's my motivation? LoL
It's either they plan to make the story an open ending or they're planning to make a sequel.
Cold Stream was a fan-made campaign, so it has nothing to do with the official plot of Left 4 Dead 2.
Emo Josh Then how come Cold Steam is in Left 4 Dead 2?
Because Valve hosted a competition to see who could make the best fan-made campaign, and whoever won got to be included in the game.
Emo Josh it's also voiced, so doesn't all that make it at least semi-canon
Voiced? As in the survivors voices? No. All the lines said in Cold Stream are from previous campaigns. The developers of Cold Stream placed different vocal cues at different points in the campaign to make it feel more real.
Ex: Coach: "The fire's spreading!"
Rochelle: "Does anyone know which way we should go?"
Coach says this in Dead Center. Rochelle says this in Swamp Fever.
You can easily access their vocal cues online. This map is not canon, at all.
Emo Josh oh ok, i thought they had gotten the actual voice actors to voice it through either valve or online

*Plot Twist: They are infected and just disguising*
Janrei Africa well they're carriers so it is basically what you said, I guess
Alejandro Vazquez Also the virus mutates daily so no one really knows what it can do next.
No
Can we a get a video on what happens to the special infected? Do they slowly deteriorate? Or does the infection just keep on mutating them? Thanks !
Daddy Scarce I like to think not all the infected turn into special infected.
Cursed Hawkins What if the Tank grew muscles in his legs?
Daddy Scarce Only around 40% of infected become special infected, so it’s unlikely any of the current commons will mutate
Yes currently however what's to say IF the next installment was to take another week after L4D2 the next one could take five years after L4D2 with a completely different formula to the infection.
You haven't locked up Ellis, ,you've been locked up with Ellis

Why would they go to rescue the survivors only to execute them instead of just letting the horde get them
This was valves plan the whole time, they make 1 amazing unique game, and that gets a sequel with many new things, a crossover between the two and new survivors in different parts of the US. then they leave it for about 10 years
They leave it for about 10 years, only to abandon it and reveal what would happen in just 2 paragraphs.

“Evil” is a matter of perspective
Evil ~ Live 🤯
j1a2y3m4y5 The Military have many uses for carriers.

I always wondered why army risked so much in that bridge scene just to save few survivors
