    I really enjoyed this video. Thank you. I like the fact that we are discovering ourselves as Africans and the various nations amongst us, often mixed with the nations nearby. We are telling a narrative, and in so doing reclaiming our places in time and space.
    I can tell that the Luo of Kenya have borrowed a bit from the Bantu languages nearby, just like the Bantus that live near Luos have borrowed from them.
    May God bless our people. All of them. Beautiful people.

      @eastafricanist9156: yes, I totally agree with you especially that I myself studied the Colonially-twisted African History. This mix of languages and some understandings shows the intermarriage and peaceful co-existence among different African tribes/ethnic groups: this is contrary to what the white colonialists wrote about Africa that African tribes were war-like who always fought each other and against each other. African History must be re-written by Africans. African educational system must ban the use of African History books written by White scholars.

      Owuor is not a boy born during midnight. Know the difference
      1. Owuor is from the word Wuor which implies to selfishness. Therefore it's a child who was named after a selfish individual.
      2. Oduor/Odiwuor/Odwuor comes from the word dier Oduor/Odiwuor/Odwuor depending on which part of Luo/Luwo Nyanza you come from simply means midnight. Hence a child born from 12pm - 4am at night qualifies for that name

    Wow, I am a Luo of Northern Bahr Al Ghazal, South Sudan 🇸🇸❤️, and we really share many words especially in saying " My Name is.." and counting also with Anywae, like;
    One - Achiel
    Two - Ario
    Three- Adak
    Four - Anguin
    Five - Abich
    Six - Abibi chiel
    Seven - Abibi rio
    Eight - Abibi dak
    Nine - Abibi nguin
    Ten - Apar..
    And we call fish "Rey" and plural "Rech"...
    After watching this, I am convinced now that the distances between one blood means nothing as long as we talk the same language..❤ #Luo_East Africa ❤

    • @KPtravels001
      @KPtravels001  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's because luo is the blanket name with individual groups like Acholi, Shilluk and Anywak in it.

    • @KPtravels001
      @KPtravels001  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Luo is more of a nation than a tribe. Like a nation made up of different luo tribes in it.

    • @KPtravels001
      @KPtravels001  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So luo of Kenya is not homogeneous like the other luo tribes in south Sudan , Uganda and Ethiopia. Luo of Kenya and Tanzania is a cocktail of all the groups and thus the name LUO is more appropriate.
