I went with your exact set up on my c250. Flowmaster Super 10 . Same diffuser that you linked in the description. I also got a resonator delete. Also got staggered quad tips. I’m happy with the results. It’s not obnoxious. It reminds me of my Borla S Type I had on my previous car. Deep, smooth sound. Your videos are extremely informative and easy to follow. Yo thanks for the comparison this really helped me to choose one and I went with the flowmaster it sounded sick. Now I also got the resonator removed and I already had the quad tips. Mine is a single exhaust but I had the other piping done to make it a dual exhaust and it doesn't sound like in this video. I wanted your advice what do you think the issue could be? Becuz I had straight pipe before this and it sounds just slightly louder which is kinda disappointing

I just ordered the Flowmaster muffler from this video for my c250 Mercedes. I was reading about it and it says it's not recommended for street use; will it be way too loud or is it not as bad as some people make it out to be?

Like you I’m looking for a little more out of my exhaust. I eliminated my two mufflers at the rear end and I left the Im guessing it was the resonator didn’t sound bad, but I would like to get it pop a little bit more out of it. This is something to consider trying.
Can’t get pops unless you tune the car to do it.

Sounds good. I’m looking for something on the quiet side for my w220. I just do to much driving to be able to appreciate a super 10 on my ride.
Just leave in the 2nd cat and resonator when installing a magnaflow or flowmaster muffler. You’ll get a sound upgrade and it’s not too loud.

Hey flex looking to order the magnaflow turbo xl muffler for my c250 coupe and was wondering what the body length of the muffler is? When I try ordering it I have to choose between a 20 or 24 inch.
so basically, if I just want to do the upgrade on the last mufflers (resonator and cat stay as stock), I am looking at a price about following:
1. manual fee (about ~160$ here in LA)
2. 2 * magnaflow mufflers, each cost 140
in total, I am looking at a total price of 160+2*140 = 440 usd, before tax
pros: a little better deeper sound, very little hp change
cons: possible drones in car; harder to sell in future; small chance risk of engine error code; may get tired of the sound in future; may not pass smog check in CA

also, I want to ask whoever has already done their muffler upgrade a question: does the aggressive sound keep going all the way from engine start to high rpm? For example, if I don't hit the floor gas, would it still make a very aggressive sound (especially in cabin)? For example, when i am driving in city with eco mode, or driving on a highway with stable speed? THX!
Changing just the mufflers is only gonna be a bonus. You’ll get deeper sound but not gonna be louder cause you still have the same amount of exhaust fumes coming out the stock cats/resonator. You won’t gain HP. You won’t get droning cause you still have stock cats/resonators. You get no engine codes. Mufflers and resonators have nothing to do with engine. Only the cats does.
Swapping out just the mufflers is the best way to stay safe, car is still pretty much stock, and you’ll get an exhaust note change without being loud. Just don’t expect a major change in sound.

1) that’s illegal is most states
2) yes, you’ll get drone
3) it’s gonna be loud but won’t sound refined. In my opinion, muffler-delete cars sound like crap. They’re just loud.

Magnaflow. Just sounds more refined.
Flowmaster. Louder but has more of a straight pipe open kinda sound.

I have a 2009 Mercedes c350 and I done a resonator delete but it’s still not enough sound. I have all the cats on the system and plan on deleting the stock canned mufflers with custom tips. I watched your video on the “Super 10” muffler and wanted to know if I could run the same muffler to the tips on the c350???

It’s strange. I like them both. The Magnaflow was a refined sound, but the flow master was louder. All depends on what you prefer.

Hey flex one more question don’t mean to be a bother. Do you think my sound from the super 10 may be muffled due to my tips being slightly smaller than actual amg tips? My diffuser openings still have a pretty big space.
Nahh. The tips don’t really affect sound that much.
Flexx... ur thoughts please... i have w204 c300. Have quad tips. Dont want loud, just a nice tone. Thoughts on just the rear muffler delete and quad tips from ur audi video (ty for link)? I don't want it loud. I just wanted to be a little more aggressive.
On most cars, just getting rid of the resonator(s) will make the exhaust sound more aggressive. If it’s not enough, then change out the mufflers for sport mufflers (like mine). If it’s not enough, then delete the mufflers completely. Just keep in mind that deleting mufflers is illegal in most states and won’t pass inspection/emissions. It should only be done for “off road” use only.

yoo my man Flexx, i have been coming back to these videos because im soon to be doing this, i already have the diffuser and muffler, im just having a hard time on picking the right inlet measurements for tips! what inch of piping would be used throughout the system. is everything 2.5" ? i was thinking the answer would be 2.5in to any outlet i wanted
Depends on what size pipe the shop uses to run pipes to the diffuser area. They will probably use 2.25” or 2.5”…so it doesn’t really matter what you get cause they should be able to make it work as long as you don’t go higher then 2.5” for the inlet. If they use 2.25” piping…they can easily weld it to a 2.25” inlet for the tips. They can also stretch the ends of the 2.25” pipe to marry up with a 2.5” inlet for the tips.

Zero in my opinion. If you’re ever paranoid about drone, just don’t remove the small resonator right after the catalytic converter.

in magnaflow u use 2" inlet from cat, in flowmaster u use 2,5" inlet from cat, how u do? u remake your pipe?
The shop makes the pipes that connects each part together. That’s what exhaust shops do when you bring mufflers and tips to them.

I have a 2016 c300 and I want exhausts and the guy recommended knock off borla over flow master& magna..thoughts?? I want knock offs for price unless you think not to??
Be careful on “knock offs” mufflers. They usually aren’t built that well and after a year or so, a plate or component on the inside can break off and you’ll be getting some unwanted noise. Stick with name brand...even if you have to pay more. Less headaches in the future.

There’s no point in an X pipe. There’s no benefits from a car that has 1 single tube from the engine, even if the tubes are split.
X pipes are for c300 and c350 with 2 pipes running from engine to tips.

I bought it, and it fits, then it fits. Just scroll thru the comments. Tons of people have done the same exact setup with zero issues.
I wouldn’t trust a lot of these systems that tells you if it fits or not. Especially when you are doing a custom setup.

Hey flex I have your exact setup with super 10 but I want it to be louder. What if I got 2 single inlet to single outlet mufflers and got them welded to the pipes the shop provided for the quad tips?
Won’t give more sound. The only other way is to get a more “straight through style” muffler or remove the muffler completely (doing a straight pipe setup) but that’s illegal and plus you’ll get a crap load of droning while cruising on the highway.

Don’t know. Your best bet is to contact magnaflow or flowmaster and ask them what’s their loudest muffler.
Hey, so I’m looking at a 2015 C250 coupe I’m 21 and I’m looking to get a decent luxury car for a good price. I wanted to know from everyone who owns these cars are they good cars and do you find them to be somewhat reliable I know there is a cost to owning a Mercedes, but is it really as bad as some people make it out to be and overall how do you guys like this car?
It’s not as bad. C250 is a good car. Not expensive to maintain.
Just make sure these 3 repairs are done cause they were known issues that Mercedes had to provide an extended warranty. Almost all cars have some form of recalls/known mass issues. These are just the 3 with c250.
1) worn camshaft adjuster (car will take several times to start and could lead to engine failure due to improper timing)
2) low pressure fuel pump (car will go into limp mode when you need to floor the car to pass another car)
3) rusted rear subframe (internal rusting and can fall apart and cause major suspension issues. Super dangerous)
If they are not done to the car…don’t buy the car cause any of those issues can occur at anytime and will cost thousands to do. You definitely don’t wanna buy a car and immediately have to drop additional thousands of dollars into it.

I did a quick google search they are available for purchase (the subframes) but that’s definitely going to be the main thing I look for as the other things I could probably do myself if I ever have to
What do you think of c300 X-Pipe and removing secondary cats ?
Sounds pretty nice with magnaflow mufflers. But that setup you mentioned without mufflers....I don’t know. I’m not a fan of straight pipe sounds.

Hey, why does the MF have smaller inlet Thant FM? Like is it a problem for the fitment? I don’t really know how that works. The magnaflow its 2.25/2 and the flow master is 2.5/2.25? I was thinking to get the flow master but yeah I wasn’t sure if it was problem that had bigger inlet and outlet
Most muffler inlets are small to match with the oem pipe. The outlet is larger cause every pipe coming out is usually custom piping welded on by the shop.
Some mufflers only have 1 direction of flow. Some can have air flow either way.

Hey flex I have a question I went to get the same setup you have but they said they couldn’t take the reasonater off so I kept it and just added the flow master super 10 it sounds ok but I feel like it decreased in power could that be possible ?
Nahh. The super10 has less stuff inside and the exhaust should be flowing more with less restrictions. Most of the time, you lose low end torque if you straight pipe with no resonator and no mufflers.

I have a 2011 and I’ve been wondering the same thing. I heard that resonator deletes sounds really good on the 350’s
Resonator deletes always sound good. Cars usually have 2. However, some cars…if you delete the 1st resonator right under the shifter area, you can get a lot of droning while driving on the highway. But resonator deletes usually give the exhaust a more aggressive, raspier sound.

Just don't want to sound like a novice at the garage. I'm keeping Cat(will downpipe later), it's already quad tipped Single outlet.to dual) so literally from my understanding I can delete the resonator and weld the muffler there.
Hi flexx I'm wondering i have a c350 coupe im wondering why you went with the flowmaster super 10 .
because c250 cars sounds like crap with the stock single muffler. Plain and simple.
So i took the time and tested my own selections and I was happy with the sound of the super 10.
For a C300 and C350, you have the benefits of a 6 cyl engine that makes better sound when you upgrade anything on your exhaust system.

@david, of course you'll get drone with a muffler delete. That's why I will never run muffler deletes and it's 100% illegal in most states. My setup might not have any resonator(s) but it still has a muffler. And I have little to no drone. It's not as loud as a muffler delete...but i personally like the sound from a good muffler then the sound of an exhaust without a muffler. Muffler deletes are just loud without no deep tone or anything.

Flexx Alexander since you live in mass with your exhaust set up did you have any issues with getting an inspection sticker? I want todo this but as you know how awful they are with car mods here. I was going to put an xpipe on and get rid of the second cats.

It says it in the name. The C is just the class. Like C class E class S class. The number Tell you the engine. A c63 has the 6.”3” v8 c300 has 3.0 and c250 has a 1.8 but they say 250 to make it sound cooler instead of the old c180

how much would an exhaust service cost on average ?
Not sure if you found your answer yet or not, haha, but typically for what flexx had done to his car is can range from $170-$250. Some exhaust places will charge like upwards of $300 to even $500 for this job. It’s really not that much of work. And you’re most likely getting ripped off if they try and charge that amount. I got exactly what flexx had done to his car, but to mine, and my exhaust shop charged me $170 for the work. And he did an amazing and super professional job. It just depends on the shop and location

I live in Massachusetts as well and I want to change the mufflers for my car but from what I have heard that is illegal and you can’t pass the state inspection. Have you had any problems passing the state inspection with these mufflers?
Don’t know. I can’t recommend anything to you. All I know is I’ve been told as long as a car has a catalytic converter and a muffler, it will pass. And that’s what I have and have passed every year.
It’s when you delete your cats or do a muffler delete, that’s straight up illegal in most or all states. I will never do that. Sounds like crap too.

Removing cats is illegal.

Of course it will affect it and potentially cause issues if you don’t get the ecu tuned to account for a removed cat. And you’ll get a crap load of droning and will probably have the best headache in the world after driving the car for a few mins. If you are not spending the majority of your time in the car racing (off road only)….then there’s no point in removing the cat.
Hey flexx can I do a 2.5 inlet to dual outlet instead of 2.25
You def can….it’s up the shop to run piping from your cat to your muffler and from your muffler to your tips that will connect to or fit the 2.5”.
They’ll just use a pipe that will weld onto the stock 2.25 pipe and make it 2.5 to fit the new muffler inlet. And then run 2.5 pipe out of the muffler outlet to the tips.

Danny Carrillo no since you have c300(assuming) you’ll have two headers , the super 10 is single to dual which is perfect for c250 since it has one header

You can use any muffler as long as it fits underneath the car and the stock exhaust piping can be adapted to the inlet of that new muffler. And that new muffler doesn’t restrict exhaust flow.

Depends where you live. When I did this, I lived in Massachusetts where you just need a catalytic converter and muffler to pass inspection. Doesn’t matter if they are aftermarket. This regulation is in most states.
Some states won’t even let you do a single alteration to your stock exhaust. Some states don’t even care what you do. Up to you to find out what’s legal in your state.

You’re not gonna get anything from an X pipe. X pipes only make sense on cars with dual pipes running from the engine.
The c250 is 1 single pipe all the way.
Honestly I know people like the twin exit look but if I had a c300 or c350 I would get a y pipe after the cats and make it a single exit 3" and add a flowmaster muffler at the end with a 3.5 or 4" tip

One side must have ear wax? Lol...it’s kinda hard to tell on video but in person, it’s very noticeable. Just like I described at the end of the video.
