You have to watch the movie to know the significance of the hanging man. Also, the name of the soprano was in the video-Christine Nonbo Andersen. Great reaction!
This is sooo good. Can you imagine being there in the audience with the sound coming at you from all angles and vibrating in your chest ? This instrumentation is what synthesizers were invented to IMITATE ! I once lived in Richmond in a duplex house. One afternoon I was startled to hear a lady singing clearly and loudly, I walked through the house and opened the back door ... she was in the next house over from me practicing opera ... inside ! They are trained to use their voices to maximum effect and I had never heard someone project like that before, and she was just warming up ! Those opera singers are no joke, even though I don't really like opera music. Did you notice a mic on her ? I'm sure there was one somewhere but I didn't see one. She is trained to fill a room with sound and was in the perfect position to do it. Your a lover of music, if we were there we would probably have tears streaming down our faces because great music is an emotional experience, not an ego boost. By the way, that movie, you gotta see it. Its the definitive western, you'll love it, big production values too ! I appreciate your channel, thx. God bless you.
I had the tears and I wasn't there. That's a special performance when the video recording can produce the same level of emotions as when seeing that performance in person where the whole experience can be felt physically in your chest, mind, and soul.
Aint it Amazing how the Lord, in his Creation, Gave Man the ability to create such wonderful things to the point that it gives one physical and motional reaction and Awe, Praise be to God for the gifts he bestows
This is actually an English horn, a seriously underrated and lesser known instrument. It's a double reed like the oboe but it's a bit larger and has a mellower, lower sound. Prominently used for the "Goin' Home" solo in Dvorak's New World Symphony :-)
this music is NOT perfect for a FILM , this MUSIC IS a FILM - you are right when you said who made this is a genius - your reaction gives justice to this masterpiece -thankyou !
Tuva Semmingsen (Wah Wah lady) is amazing....go look for her singing "Bang Bang" with the same orchestra and then "Who wants to live forever"..........GO.
The clarinet with a straw is an oboe which has a long reed to blow into. So many amazing instruments in an orchestra but this rendition is outstanding!
This is why I want to go to a real professional symphony. The music they produce is pure. Every sound is a human or an instrument, not synthetic. Also, when you hear all those instruments playing at once, it just moves you.
Depending on where you live, you can hear many beautiful concerts. Many of the well-known film composers go on tour. Contact your local concert promoter.
It just shows you just how important the music is to a film, and the incredible amount of work by the composer and musicians. The film is nothing without the music.

"The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly", is the third and final film of a trilogy of films featuring the character, "The Man With No Name", portrayed by Clint Eastwood. This film also starred Lee Van Cleef ("The Bad") and Eli Wallach ("The Ugly"), and was released in 1966. The other two films are "A Fistful Of Dollars" (1964) and "For A Few Dollars More" (1965). In 1964, Clint Eastwood was still working on the CBS Western TV series, "Rawhide". According to an interview of Eastwood I watched here on TH-cam, he wanted to take his family on a European vacation, but he did not have enough money at the time to do so. By accepting a movie role from Italian director, Sergio Leone, to star in his low-budget Western film, "A Fistful Of Dollars", which was being filmed in Spain, he could take his family on that European vacation for free (or something close to it). Somehow, Leone found a US distributor to show the film in the US, and "A Fistful Of Dollars" became a surprise hit. In 1965, "Rawhide" was cancelled by CBS, a year after the untimely death of the show's star, Eric Fleming, while he working on a movie during the TV show's Summer hiatus. Clint Eastwood then began to focus his career as being a full-time movie actor. "For A Few Dollars More" provided him an opportunity to work that he badly needed, and that film also became a hit, and made Eastwood an International star. The Hollywood establishment had no choice but to take notice, and the rest is history.
When you said low budget, you weren't kidding. The reason so many common instruments are used in Morricone's soundtracks is because he didn't have much money to work with in composing and recording the soundtracks. In the interview you referenced, Eastwood stated that the clothes he wore in the trilogy were provided by himself, and the stogies he smoked in the movies he bought himself in California and cut in half for the movies. Unbelievably, this movie, one of the greatest westerns of all time, had a budget of only 1.2 million dollars. In a movie made today, that probably wouldn't get you past the first ten minutes of filming.
They were called "Spaghetti westerns" at the time because they were filmed in Italy, most of the actors in these movies were Italian and this amazing music was composed by Ennio Morricone. I'm 69 and I never get tired of watching them.
Your reaction to this priceless piece of musical history is the most genuine I’ve seen! This music is astounding and the way it was performed was, well, nothing short of extraordinary! It’s plain to see that you were deeply moved by the Spirit too. Nice. Thanks!
Your reaction to this is the absolute best I've ever seen, and proof is surely the fact that you feature in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra's own video in which Tuva Semmingsen and Christine Nonbo Andersen speak about this performance. They must have been so impressed with you!
Ennio Morricone wrote this music. The man is playing an oboe; they look like that (like a straw). Cracks me up how that one woman just goes: "wah wah wah."
You don't talk too much. You are displaying a real passion for music and what's more you obviously have what musicians call an 'ear'. I wish you many more happy years of discovering great orchestral and choral music.
Yes, it's a phenomenal piece... I don't mind one iota that you're blown out and have to say so... I enjoy it...because it let's me know and feel close when we share the same exstatic joy for much the same reasons. Keep on Keep'n On Van...
6:15 That lady has an amazing voice! The lady at the beginning who also does the whistling is incredibly talented as well. A group of dedicated, talented people creating something that truly is nothing short of a Blessing of God! As you put it, 'ridiculously beautiful!'.
I really appreciate your reaction to this. So pure and beautiful ❤️ Please continue to listen to stuff like this! The Danish National Orchestra does a lot of great concerts here, and regularly interprets iconic movie, and videogame scores like these. I've been to a couple of their concerts. It's an awesome experience!
Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone were classmates, but they didn't realize it until their first time working together. Leone wrote the scripts, then Ennio composed the music, and only then did they shoot. Often the music was playing during the shoot, which is why the music and the acting harmonize so well. My favourite is "Once upon a time in America" (the 4 hour version)
Thanks so much for this info....I thought the music would be composed to suit the actual filmed action. Brilliant idea to use the music while filming. Lucky us to have geniuses creating entertainment for us to enjoy.
This was written by ENNIO MORRICONE for a western "the good, the bad and the ugly" with Clint Eastwood and directed by Sergio Leone. Sergio Leone went also to school with Ennio Morricone when they where children in Italy in 1936 or something. So Cool
So many elements you never know are involved until you hear it the way is was made to be done. Most big movies just not long ago were made to be done by orchestras. Please do yourself a favor and watch and listen to more. It’s amazing.
I am just amazed. I had no idea this existed. One of my all time favorite movies, iconic theme music and to see it performed live, you could knock me over with a feather.
I’ve watched lots of reactions to these 2 pieces of music and without fail, every single one of them stop and concentrate when Ecstasy of Gold starts. It’s the greatest piece of music ever written for a movie bar none. Peerless.
the straw-instrument is called english horn, a woodwind instrument in the deeper range of the oboe family of instruments. My personal opinion is that the english horn player shows perfect breath control and talent.. Great reaction LFR Fam

It was 75 minutes of pure goosebumps... Also Best concerthall i have experienced.
She did have a mic on, if you look at the closeup, you can see the shadow of it, right in front of her left ear.
Time to watch that movie..
It’s on Netflix at the moment! So not “edited for time”, like when on tv.
I don't think that anyone would argue with "Whoever wrote this was a genius" The recently departed Ennio Morricone.
Good Bad And the Ugly is probably the best western movie. Love Eastwood.
React please same orchestra - Once Upon a Time in the West, western too, from Russia with love!
Aint it Amazing how the Lord, in his Creation, Gave Man the ability to create such wonderful things to the point that it gives one physical and motional reaction and Awe, Praise be to God for the gifts he bestows
Brilliant tune from the best Western EVER!!!
I came back after 2 yrs just to see the child-like wonder and joy on ur face listening to this masterpiece. ❤
In my opinion the greatest soundtrack to the greatest film in cinema history. Rip to Ennio Morricone.
Not Frozen, huh? Ha.
They did several theme songs from Clint Eastwood westerns and they are all great. The hanging man is part of the theme.
That's not a straw. That's an oboe. A woodwind. One of my favorite insruments.
The oboe uses two small reeds clamped together that the player forces air through tp make the sound.
This is actually an English horn, a seriously underrated and lesser known instrument. It's a double reed like the oboe but it's a bit larger and has a mellower, lower sound. Prominently used for the "Goin' Home" solo in Dvorak's New World Symphony :-)
The best part is that you like me, will introduce this to your grown children and grand children. Have a great and blessed 2022.
Stopping because you have to is annoying, but stopping because you are genuinely excited and want to say something is awesome.
Look at the "wha wha" girls earrings. Dedication!
One of the greatest films ever made. The sound track is legendary ;)
You know this is just the sweet topping to the great movie. Clint Eastwood is a goat, at being a bad ass cowboy.
Listen to the percussion instruments in the background and you might imagine the gait of running horses.
this music is NOT perfect for a FILM , this MUSIC IS a FILM - you are right when you said who made this is a genius - your reaction gives justice to this masterpiece -thankyou !
Have seen this movie many times and always loved the theme song but it’s not until I saw this video did I realize the excellence of it all. Amazing!
Me too, just never realised how much was going on.

The Good, Bad and the Ugly; the best western of all time!
As an old guy it's funny to hear you say "it came from a voice". Yes, a generation ago that's all we had. Lol
Tuva Semmingsen (Wah Wah lady) is amazing....go look for her singing "Bang Bang" with the same orchestra and then "Who wants to live forever"..........GO.
Came across this performance 4 weeks ago and listen to it at least once a day!
The clarinet with a straw is an oboe which has a long reed to blow into. So many amazing instruments in an orchestra but this rendition is outstanding!
It’s an English Horn
Actual people... with actual talent- amazing. Nice reaction, Van. Beautiful job, Denmark music- folk. Love your take.
I could be wrong but I do believe that this composure was nominated for a Oscar.
This is why I want to go to a real professional symphony. The music they produce is pure. Every sound is a human or an instrument, not synthetic. Also, when you hear all those instruments playing at once, it just moves you.
th-cam.com/video/zcjw-ezHgS0/w-d-xo.html
And the hall is constructed with music in mind.
Depending on where you live, you can hear many beautiful concerts. Many of the well-known film composers go on tour. Contact your local concert promoter.
TOTAL AWESOMENESS!!! OMGOODNESS!!
Thank you so much for reacting to this. I would have never heard or seen it.
It just shows you just how important
the music is to a film, and the incredible amount of work by the composer and musicians. The film is nothing without the music.
You gave a beautiful reaction. To such a beautiful symphony.

Great reaction - I love how excited you are watching and listening to this - truly is a masterpiece. One of my most favourite things to listen to - I have it playing regularly at full volume.
This is Ennio Morricone, and if his music sounds familiar.... consider this (according to Wikipedia):

Live albums = 11
Compilation albums = 116
Video albums = 4
Singles = 61

@@theloneranger8725 I don't know who that masked man was, but I wanted to thank him.
Your reaction to this priceless piece of musical history is the most genuine I’ve seen! This music is astounding and the way it was performed was, well, nothing short of extraordinary! It’s plain to see that you were deeply moved by the Spirit too. Nice. Thanks!
The Soprano is Christine Nonbo Andersen.
And the lady who whistles and does the wah wahs is a mezzo soprano named Tuva Semmingsen.
And Edda Dell'Orso was the original vocal who done majority of Ennio's songs.
Singing girls gots some skills !!! Imagine getting ALL those people in perfect timing.
I can understand, what you are feeling! They are PERFECT!!!
This was sensational - thank you very much for reacting to it as I had never heard it and I feel richer for doing so.
This is music composition at it's best! Wind, choirs, horns, strings & electric guitars! Its soft and precise!
1:57 "...hey guys, I promise I'm, I'm not going to stop this over and over and over..." 😏😁
A few moments later... 🤣🤣👍
Absolutely beautiful isn’t it, especially when you get to see how the song is made!❤ Such an iconic song and movie and Clint Eastwood too!❤
You MUST watch "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"! It is to Westerns what Star Wars was to Syfy!!!! An EPIC spaghetti western.
Or watch all 3. Fistfull of Dollars. For a Few Dollars More. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
@@AzathothXy Since tGtB&tU is a prequel he can watch it first with out messing up the narrative.
@@sammygirl5835 it's the third part of the trilogy.
@@AzathothXy It was made last, but plot wise it comes first.
Except that TGBU is a great film and $tar war$ is wonder bread bullshit
You asked "Why is someone hanging from the ceiling" and my answer to you is "Watch the movie and all will come to light young one".
Yep... Morricone was a God of sound, for sure. Unique and unparalleled in his genius. Sadly, the day he died a great light went out.
You don't talk too much. You are displaying a real passion for music and what's more you obviously have what musicians call an 'ear'. I wish you many more happy years of discovering great orchestral and choral music.
This is the most beautiful music I've ever heard.
Proud to be Danish. . This brings a tear to my eye.
That is a masterpiece of musical composition, and stunningly performed.
So Danish brought a smile to ure face.......

"Hey Blondie!!
Youuuuu know what you arrrrrre?" 😁
Yes, it's a phenomenal piece... I don't mind one iota that you're blown out and have to say so... I enjoy it...because it let's me know and feel close when we share the same exstatic joy for much the same reasons. Keep on Keep'n On Van...
Van, dude thanks for hooking us up with such a beautiful composition and incredible performance. 🤘🏼

That lady has an amazing voice!
The lady at the beginning who also does the whistling is incredibly talented as well.
A group of dedicated, talented people creating something that truly is nothing short of a Blessing of God!
As you put it, 'ridiculously beautiful!'.
The hanging man is do to the movie, to set the mode.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (12/12) Movie CLIP - Tuco's Final Insult (1966) HD
@@TOYSTITCHER For Sergio Faces are landscapes ypu can see it in most movies 😍
This was written by ENNIO MORRICONE for a western "the good, the bad and the ugly" with Clint Eastwood and directed by Sergio Leone. Sergio Leone went also to school with Ennio Morricone when they where children in Italy in 1936 or something. So Cool
As many have told you, you have to go to the symphony when COVID permits! I can give you chills and bring tears to your eyes!
Absolutely!!!
So many elements you never know are involved until you hear it the way is was made to be done. Most big movies just not long ago were made to be done by orchestras. Please do yourself a favor and watch and listen to more. It’s amazing.
This is why the voice is called an instrument. 😊😘
I am just amazed. I had no idea this existed. One of my all time favorite movies, iconic theme music and to see it performed live, you could knock me over with a feather.
Went to all of these movies as a kid when they came out, love the soundtracks!
Incredible...isn't it??!! 😊
It's astounding what a big room full of talented performers under great direction and arrangement can do. Pretty much magical! 🙂
