Caligula yes, please stop, stay home! Afrikans will sort out Afrika. At no point in history since colonialism and the great brainwashing, have Europeans allowed that to happen. So literally everything you think that Europeans are fixing, they caused in the first place... including coups, wars, devaluation of currencies, dumbing down of people, training soldiers to kill their own country men since they are militia and not army for patriotism or protection purpose... Europe has always been about themselves, even your NGOs (giving aid which creates dependency), missionaries (exchanging holy books for our minerals)... just stop and please stay home, let’s see how that works out for Europe. FACT: France would be a 3rd world economy within a decade without the wealth it still depends on from West Afrikan nations (Jacques Chirac, Former President of France quoted).
Concerning the shape of the Gambia, you should have talked about the fact that many European countries colonizing Africa didn't want to bother with land, because they only wanted gold. And where can we find gold in huge quantity in Africa? Close to rivers. And that's the main reason why the Gambia is shaped this way, because the British empire just wanted gold mines, and a river to carry all that stolen gold to the Atlantic Ocean! ;)

Nah Georgia comes from Gurgen < old kings of georgia were mostly Gurgens which meant wolfman, so Middle easterners started calling them Gurgistan, Wolfland, which later became Gurjistan. and in the west Georgia because name Gurgen turned to George after Christianity.
The Gambia, officially the Republic of The Gambia, is a country in West Africa. The Gambia is often referred to as 'The Smiling Coast'. It is the smallest country within mainland Africa, and is surrounded by Senegal, except for its western coast on the Atlantic Ocean. The Gambia is situated on both sides of the lower reaches of the Gambia River, the nation's namesake, which flows through the centre of The Gambia and empties into the Atlantic Ocean. It has an area of 10,689 square kilometres (4,127 sq mi) with a population of 1,857,181 as of the April 2013 census. Banjul is the Gambian capital and the country's largest metropolitan area. The largest cities are Serekunda and Brikama.
