Georgia is an awesome place with kind-hearted and proud people. We visited Kutaisi with family in February and one of the most heart-warming experiences I had was the following. In a shop my mother wanted to buy a Georgian alphabet practice book for 1st grade schoolchildren. I explained in my basic Russian (I'm sorry, but my Georgian knowledge consist of only a few words) to the surprised cashier that my mom finds the style of writing fascinating, and wants to learn how to read and write their alphabet. The cashier lady was moved to tears and told us that we can take the booklet for free. :) Madloba dear Georgians, we hope we can visit again soon!

Random fact, I'm from Spain, which is located on the Iberia Peninsula.... the Greeks gave us (Spain/Portugal) the name 'Iberia'... at the same time, Georgia ( Eastern Georgia) was also called Iberia... so there are two Iberias :P

Of all the countries I've visited (128 in total), Georgia is by far my favourite! The food, the scenery, the culture and the history are out of this world! And to top it all off, nowhere else have I been treated so well by strangers. I am looking forward to going back some time soon! ♥

greetings from the UK. ive been to georgia few times and enjoyed it so much that im looking forward to visiting it on next holiday. food, people and everything is incredible. people so humble and friendly always ready to help u out. when it comes to their traditions and especially traditional food, i got surprised he didnt mention Khinkali(pardon me if spelling is wrong) it is the greatest thing on earth haha. i even learnt how to make it and few times per months i make them for my family and they love it, cant imagine howd they love it made by Georgian's hands. anyway ive got a huge love for ur country and for u people. im 23 and if i could id spend my life in a country like urs! again love from the United Kingdom! xoxo

Together with them Georgians in Caucasus and in Anatolia also at some time were also called Iberians, but unlike western ones Georgians shared this name for much longer time till medieval centuries, Greeks referred like that to Georgians before 19th century even, until Georgia became part of Russia. ancient historians all considered these 2 people to be one people or relative people, Modern scholars doubt that , cuz it's become hard to prove as west Iberians don't exist anymore and their language is dead. Iberian in europe later on became a culture, which was shared and adopted by Celtic people and people of Peninsula. Hope this helped. Also lot's of Scholars relate Basque and Georgian(Kartvelian languages), but also not proven. As I know Soviet government was against it and forced to stop working on that theory in 80s.
I went to Georgia in the summer of 2018. Very vibrant country and some of the best food I have ever eaten (been to over 40 countries). Definitely recommend visiting it

@Alec Hinshaw if you are thanking about mingrelian (megruli) and svan (svanuri). those are spoken in those region but you can speak on georgian (qarruli) and everyone will understand you. and i don't really get what did you ment by that question but you can't speak on those languages in Georgia unless you find someone to translate it. and it has no relation they are just Caucasian languages and we have normal relationship with those languages so.. i am glad if my answer helped you somehow.
I'm kinda fascinated with Georgia. I decided to study the history and origins of all european peoples and I became increasingly frustrated with how the europeans of today have almost nothing in common with their ancestors, specially when it comes to religious values. Then, after torturous amounts of "enlightenment values", progressivism and all the crisis revolving around it, I finally arrived at Georgia. It was a breath of fresh hair knowing that there are still european peoples (though they aren't technically european) who don't hate themselves and their history, and instead sherish it and want to preserve it. @Alec Hinshaw if you are thanking about mingrelian (megruli) and svan (svanuri). those are spoken in those region but you can speak on georgian (qarruli) and everyone will understand you. and i don't really get what did you ment by that question but you can't speak on those languages in Georgia unless you find someone to translate it. and it has no relation they are just Caucasian languages and we have normal relationship with those languages so.. i am glad if my answer helped you somehow.

I'm kinda fascinated with Georgia. I decided to study the history and origins of all european peoples and I became increasingly frustrated with how the europeans of today have almost nothing in common with their ancestors, specially when it comes to religious values. Then, after torturous amounts of "enlightenment values", progressivism and all the crisis revolving around it, I finally arrived at Georgia. It was a breath of fresh hair knowing that there are still european peoples (though they aren't technically european) who don't hate themselves and their history, and instead sherish it and want to preserve it.
