    I just upgraded to a D750 primarily for real estate photography but considered the Z6. This video just reassured me that I made the right choice going with the D750. Looking forward to the bracketing mode!

    Hi - There is a workaround: Go to the i-menu and choose DLY (Delay: 0,5 to 3 seconds) and press OK.
    Until revoked then each exposure has your chosen delay. It is not cancelled by the time-out.
    The only thing different from the selftimer is that the green signaling lamp will not blink, and the delay is limited to 3 seconds. Hope this helps

      The problem is the delay only works PER shutter release press. The self timer allows you to align the number of shutter releases with your exposure bracketing settings... in my case 5. This allows you to step away and take all 5 exposures on one button press and I use it all the time for real estate hdr photography. Having the camera reset to a single shutter release press after timeout is SUPER annoying.

    Outstanding comments, and just the information I was seeking! I have been shooting the D750 for a few years, now, and for my purposes and needs, it's the perfect camera! I was thinking about going with a new D780, or a Z6, but in truth, your excellent comments have helped me decide to get another D750 body! That design does EXACTLY what I want from a camera, and adds nothing that have NO value to me! Thanks, Mate, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc

    Hey brother, just ran into your video and I love it. I am brand new in the business. I’m thinking of getting the ”Nikon Z6II” camera. However, heard that is not too popular for the real estate field because of the low quality and taking pictures in low light rooms. What do you think about that and if you have any recommendations on how to fix the problem if it is a problem with that camera.

    You know, something you might want to consider is using Snap bridge instead of your 2 second timer on your Z camera. It is much more robust than it was before and besides that it will give you instant 2meg jpeg files as backup on your phone. You also get the tap to focus function. It really is pretty slick for tripod shots and it is much more reliable than it was... at least with my android phone. Than you do not need the delay at all. You can also make adjustments to Aperture, shutter and ISO from the phone. Just a thought.

      I took another look at Snapbridge and you are correct it does look more promising ...

      Not that I tried this, but I think this will drain the battery quite a bit.

      @@cbacchus3475 It will drain the battery. But yhe only way to know if it is more than you can stand is to test it.

    I've moved from a D810 to the z7II. In addition to the things you've mentioned I've found that the exposure metering is off/different from the D810. I'm always bracketing five frames in one stop increments and middle exposure is often off by up to three stops in Matrix metering. I'm trying center weighted metering to see if I can obtain more reliable metering.
    Secondly, I find that the viewfinder and lcd screen does not accurately display the preview or the final image once I've brought the images back into lightroom. If the problem was a consistent and predictable amount I would just use exposure compensation and I would simply change the brightness settings for both viewing methods.
    Lastly I've noticed that the Z7II like the d850 shoots with a bias towards cooler color temperatures. I've tried to offset this with the A2 setting with marginal success.
    collectively and cumulatively these changes place a burden on workflow.
    I'm still within the return window so I'm going to see if there are work around either through calibration, technique or workflow which I can offset these these issues.
    If I cannot, I will probably buy some more time by purchasing a D850 until these issues are worked out.
    Oh I just realized something else. The Z bodies don't have a PC sync or five pin port which are very useful for remote triggers either for triggering the body or bypassing the hot-shoe to trigger multiple flashes.
    Nikon is really making it hard for people to transition to mirror-less.

    I did the reverse: bought a Z6 on sale, love it, year later buy used D750.
    I use the 750 as a hiking/tough/everyday body.
    The Z6 for video/street/portraiture. Lots of times I bring both with two different primes/telephoto.
    They both can share batteries and have almost the same modes it’s fantastic

    You can also repurpose the red "video record" button to something else when in stills mode.

    Very interesting
    I confess to have jumped to Sony after couple of decades of Nikon - sold my d750. My other camera is Df which is WoW for me - (accepting it is crippled with a D600 Focus) - there’s something about that Df which is hard to describe
    The AF on the newest Sony blows Nikon away IMHO. I completely ignored Nikon Mirrorless

    On the old Nikon cameras, the auto bracketing button was the function button. D200, D300, D700, etc. Not sure when it changed. I guess the D750

      I wasn't aware of the BKT button on my D750 until I accidentally hit it and the camera started changing the exposure. This caused me some confusion until I dug into the issue.

    Is the image quality any better on the z6 and is it better in higher iso than the d750? Or no difference

    • @MichaelSeneschal
      @MichaelSeneschal 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Z6 has better IQ and is better in low light vs the D750. However, the D750 is so good in low light that it doesn’t really matter that there’s better options out there. I’ve been happy with my d750 at ISO 10,000 that so what if my Z6 can produce an image that looks the same at ISO 40,000 (2 stops). The light that’s available in those situations is so bad anyway.

    • @martinsarre
      @martinsarre 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MichaelSeneschal I've got both cameras, but not had a chance to use the Z6 in low light yet, so I guess I'll find out soon. I just wanted to know from somebody who has tested it already.

    Can't help wondering, why on earth you need 2sec timer on a mirrorless? DSLRs have massive flapping mirror induced shakiness where mirrorless does not. If you worried about your finger touching shutter button induced shakiness, there is shutter cable or remote, or a thing called phone app. And the quick adjustment "advantage" during timer is down right laughable. if steadiness is high on your priority, I can't imagine you would accept a fat finger spinning the adjustment wheel during the 2second timer. Seriously?

    • @mneedes2
      @mneedes2 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use it on my Z6 on my lightweight travel tripod which isn't always the most stable -- I don't want to bring shutter cables/remotes/phone apps. I wish the release mode could be stored in the U settings. I use U1 for tripod and would love if it would default to 2s mode.......

    • @mneedes2
      @mneedes2 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      mmmm.... maybe the SnapBridge phone app is the way to go here. I'll take another look.

      Some of these are issues rather specific to his use case and are things that 99% of reviews and videos won't mention. Little details like these only get mentioned when someone actually uses the camera for a decent duration for their regular work. I've been researching the Z6 for a while and haven't seen some of the issues mentioned elsewhere.
