Speaking of 24 megapixel Nikon cameras, the D600/610 is an absolute steal for RE photography. I was using my D850, but it was overkill. Went back to my old D600 and it's perfect.
Nice reasonable explanation for the switch. I would suggest holding off on repairing the 14-24. All the tests so far on the Z mount lenses shows they are better, not subtly, corner to corner over any F mounts of the same FL. The 14-30 f/4 outperforms the 14-24 2.8 in all criteria, is a lot smaller, can use screw-on filters or 100mm filter holders, better sharpness across the frame, as well as contrast, and flare resistance. I have 3 Z mount lenses and each is better optically than their more expensive F mount. The 24-70 f/4 beats my 2 F mount 24-70 2.8, G and E versions and tests of the Z 2.8 model shows it is a little better than the f/4 and 1/2 the price of the E version F mount. The 50 1.8 S lens is the sharpest, corner to corner I have ever seen, regardless of brand, and only $450. I started out with a Z7 but returned it for a trade for the Z6 when it became available 10 days later. I loved the Z7 but my reason to get a Z was for travel, walking around, events, etc where those large files were not needed and low light performance in events. I already had the D850 and D800 for studio and portraiture. I knew on paper the Z6 was better in low light by a stop but I was surprised it even beat the D5 on any shot up to ISO 102,000! After using the Z6 for what I was intending I found its features more and more replacing my big kit and the D850, although a great camera, the best DSLR ever made, was sitting on the shelf 90% of the time. Just last week after 4 months I decided to sell the D850 while it still had a high resale value and keep the D800 which gives excellent images but has low resale value. The plan is to add a Z7 for my high res camera tasks in the next week but might wait longer because I notice deep discounts on the Z cameras now in the US, with a price drop of almost $800 so hope it is extended to Europe/Russia since I don't live in the US anymore. Don't worry about the single XQD, it is a more robust bus, logic and hardware than any SD or CF card system. A single XQS has a higher Mean Time Between Failure rating than 2 SD cards for the same reasons SSD using PCIe+ interface is far more reliable than floppy disks. Check out the TH-cam channel "Ricci Talks", a UK based landscape photographer and Nikon employee who has access to all these Z lenses before their release and does some very nicely done controlled tests comparing F and Z mount lenses of the same FL.
Great Video Jeff! I am considering getting the Z6 or the A7III to use for RE photography and videos. Are you happy with the results you have been getting with the Z6? Did you get the 14-30 yet? are you using something like Cam Ranger with it? Thanks for your help!
Hi Jeff thx for great video. I saw you in another video with a Sony A6000 and now hear you also had the A6500. I'm planning to get into Real Estate videography and probably also stills. Whats your opinion for someone like me starting out on a very tight budget between those 2 models or should I rater wait and save for a Sony A7iii.
I recently purchased a z6ii and really struggling to get my flash operating. Do you ever use flash and if so do you share these issues? I am using the Godox X2Tn and Godox AD200 and AD400. (FYI using this for real estate photography). Here are a few issues I am experiencing.... 1) I can't seem to get LIVE VIEW to display real-time changes I am making when changing shutter speed when the trigger is ON. If I turn the trigger OFF, I can alter the shutter speed and my view lightens/darkens in real-time. However when the trigger is on, it has no effect, nor does the histogram change either. 2) When I turn the trigger off and set my optimal exposure, and then turn the trigger ON (thinking this is my only option), the flash fires, but provides the same brightness regardless of how light or dark I set the exposure (fast or slow shutter speeds). Flash and Trigger are all set to MANUAL (not TTL). 3) (Sometimes) it seems that the display DOES provide real time views of shutter alterations and I can't for the life of me figure out what is changing. Just when I think it is working, I return to find that randomly it is not. I appreciate any help I can get. So frustrating.

Absolutely, I fell in love with the D850 when it was released and it’s an amazing camera, but totally overkill for a lot of applications

For video, are you shooting 10 bit with an external recorder? Or do you shoot 8 bit in body?

Thats my problem with the F Mount, the 14-30 z Lens. I want it on my F - Mount. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Isn't Australia PAL - are you shooting 24fps.
why do these European peps pronounce Nikon different? so weird
