THANK YOU! So many people rely on a cuts ‘name’ that means something different to every hairdresser for every decade or part of the country! So glad you added that at the end. I find your videos informative. A good source for clients…… Thank you again! Cheryl hairdresser 1975 - to now!
Me and my best friend, back in 1995, went to a salon in the mall. We both wanted a “Rachel”, from Friends haircut. We both sat down, side by side, with two different hair stylists. She got the “Rachel”…and I ended up with the “Carol Brady” shag. I was devastated. As we walked out of that mall..I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. That cut was definitely not for me. 😂
That haircut was dangerous! Most people don't realize that Jennifer Aniston's natural hair is thick and curly, and that it would look really different depending on your hair type.
I have gone to my stylist, asked for something in particular, and came out loving it…then two months later go back and want the same thing again and it’s totally different! Ugh!
I was doing this in 2023. That second cut was horrible. Ended up not going to her anymore because the 3rd cut was with her student and she wasn't even in the salon!!!!!@@LaJuana558
I went to a stylist in the early 2Ks and asked for a "Rachel, season 7" - you know, the cute bob that she got when the Rock Star extensions had to come out. She did a regular 90s Rachel... 😆 Luckily, it was an easy fix, she just ended up cutting the bottom wisps.
Finally. someone who explains the details of dif bobs. I have super thick course hair. I am told my hair is as thick as an "otter". Stylists want to always to the GOOFY "bowl cut". Why? Because they do not know how to cut hair. I want someday to go get my hair cut by someone like this stylist explaining the cuts and why for short hair. He's awesome with the details. Thank you for explaining the bob haircuts.
Maybe you could start cutting your own hair like I started doing 5 years ago. Curly/wavy hair can be forgiving if the layers are not perfect, but you do need them😀
I agree! I literally just went to a stylist and asked them to undercut the back of my medium/short hair so that it would cup under. I didn't need them to touch the top and front and sides, I went in ONLY to get the back worked on and not only did they not undercut it, but they CUT the longer length sections so that the undercut section is LONGER than the length! It is exactly OPPOSITE of what I asked for! I came home and sectioned out the back of my hair at home and reached back and cut that area closest to my neckline so that it is at least partially hidden under the longest length, until I can grow it OUT AGAIN (and I am sure it is not as even as it should be) and start all over. I cannot find ANYBODY who knows how to cut hair! I am doing a better job on my own. I have finally learned how to cut the front/top and sides PERFECTLY.
I love the long Bob, I’m growing my bangs out finally, bobs always look so much better with long bangs or no bangs. I love classic clean lines they never go out of style
Years ago my hairdresser cut my long hair into a bob, I hated it initially but it 'grew' on me so much so that I kept that style for 20+ years, before letting it grow but I'm now back to the bob!!
I started out with a shoulder length Bob, I loved it.i had an appointment last week to get my ends trimmed. When I left crying I couldn’t believe what he had done to my hair. I called Johnnie about my hair…I told him I wanted fixed. So. Friday I’m going to see him for my hair. Thank you for listening to me it helped!
I am currently sporting a seriously grown out pixie-bob. With my thin white/gray hair it now styles beautifully into a bubble bob and soon it will grow into an out of control Italian Bob! I've never been a fan of bob haircuts but stylists have been telling me how great it is for my face shape and fine hair since I was a kid. Guess I'm trending now 😉
Just had this problem again with my stylist. I tell her what I aiming for and she does what she wants. Unfortunate as I had been with her for quite awhile. Last three appointments were such a disappointment.
I’m outgrowing a botched Bob and then I’m cutting it myself…I’ll start with hidden layers just like Justin suggested in the previous videos.. looks simple enough, just don’t overdo it!
@@teamtdm4life704 I have this issue with my stylist as well. Last two visits were awful. I cut it myself instead, but I have to say that the shears stylists use are SO much better, and access to the back is a real hassle even doing a bob. You might be able to get a Box bob...if that's what you want.
I hear you @cherylporter1056!!!!! Since china flu was released on the world in late 2019, good stylists & good haircuts are still out there, but are VERY, VERY hard to find!
I experimented with a bob for a bit of time. My hair always seemed to fall flat and heavy, no matter the products or styling tools I used (or left it without products to keep from adding weight). I never really felt like "myself" when I looked in the mirror, even though when I look back at the photos it looked pretty good on my face. Going with something that has more movement in a shaggy or wispy style seems to suit me the best no matter how short or how long the length of my hair.
I have a chronically ill 19 yr old that really needs a new haircut amd encouragement, and there are no hair salons we can trust to give her a new look. Her hair has thinned out a lot from her sickness. Thanks for your videos.
I have fine quite thin hair and although I always asked for a blunt bob I never quite got it. Two weeks ago I went to someone else, asked for exactly the same and I got a really blunt cut with rounded ends. It's like the Bubble Bob and Box Bob in one. It looks brilliant- it's so good I don't really have to style it- it falls into place!
Your haircut is my favorite too. I always looked best with a bob like this since the late 80s and 90s. Younger aged stylists don't cut hair like this though. They texturize the ends too much. I dont want a haircut with all different lengths ending in points. I love the fullness look and feel of thicker ends.
Just cut my hair into a Bob. It’s difficult for me to get to the salon but even though it’s not perfect I love it. The Bob has been my favorite hairstyle for years. Enjoyed the video especially since this style is back for 2024 🤩
Thank you for that last tip. That has happened to me why I’ve asked for something and gotten completely something different. But when I describe what I wanted to look like, and the links and the amount of layering well things come out magically wonderful.
I love my curly/wavy below the chin bob with a few layers (I have fine thin hair so don't need a ton of layers to keep from the dreaded triangle). I've found that having a bob has made life so much easier (I can get 4 days with refreshing).
That's why I ALWAYS bring a picture of what I like or want and ask my stylist to make it as close as possible as to it, BASED on MY HAIR texture. Never fails!!
Not all hair dressers understand even with a picture. I got over the chop job and will never go back to that person. If you can't see what the hairdresser is doing because . Mirrors aren't properly on wall. Run don walk right out the door.
The advice at the end is true of any hairstyle’s name. The blunt look at the bottom of a bob is what makes it so healthy and attractive. And the severe lines of the box bob are strikingly attractive, buuuut… it looks so great online because you’re only seeing it on perfectly, surgically, sculpted, and symmetrical model faces. Since almost no real women actually look like that, this cut looks great on almost nobody. Also, I think hairdressers prefer layers because they give the most opportunity for styling. They literally are something to work with.
I love the effect you’re using where you elongate or squish a persons face so we can see what the same haircut will look like on the same person. That is top notch!! I had a slightly angled bob that I LOVED in summer 2022. Then one haircut too short and I HATED it, and decided to grow my hair long again (had gone from mid back length to bob). Now it’s a little below collar bone length and I just don’t know what to do!! If I was brave, I’d send you my photos for a “hair mistakes” video. But, alas, I am not brave!! 😅
Actually I really appreciate your last bit of advice!! I'm considering a bob but I'm terrified that a stylist won't listen to me, but now I have a better understanding of why! 🎉❤
TY as it was very well expanded. I really love the way you broke it down couldn’t be better. I especially liked how @ the end you said truth about the importance of doing one’s research and how to break it down so that the stylist if regular or not can get a detail idea of what one likes or expects.
At 74 I've had many lengths and styles of the bob. I have fine hair so a few worked, and a few were horrible. However with age, my face has (ahem) gotten fuller. Ive been wearing the micro-bob for about 8 years. The length at my face is a tiny bit more than halfway up my ear. I have plenty of long layers at the crown & around the back. The neck area is cut closer to the head but "stacked" halfway up for fullness. I hope this made sense! By the way I've been using my Just De-Frizz on small areas of my hair. It does a great job and the scent is so nice!
Same here, 64w/thin, fine now white hair. I’ve worn some form of Bob since the 80’s as it’s the ONLY style that makes me look like I have any hair. The only change I make is bangs now and again as well as change from a middle to a side part.
@@shirlynb148 Fortunately my hair isn't thin, just fine. And yes, I have bangs that are chipped into, so they're not dense. I still have my hair colored. My stylist colors my roots every 12 weeks. I'm fairly blonde from the years of highlights so my grey roots blend in well and aren't terribly detectable by 12 weeks. I wish I could wear a pixie but it's not flattering on me .
I just learned I have a bubble bob I guess 😊 i have a long face so it’s no wonder i like it. I finally bought a big round brush like my hairstylist uses and was shocked at how good I was able to get it to look! I mean, it’s still not quite as good as when I leave the salon, but it’s still really nice. I even bought the Kendra heat protectant she uses cause I love the smell so much and I feel like I managed a bit of that salon pampering vibe at home. 😊
I had thick, waist length hair which badly needed serious attention . I found a photo of a VERY short and boxy bob which oddly looked exactly like the bob my hair was cut into for almost all my childhood. I found a photo of me at 6 with precisely that style and putting the two photographs together the similarities were startling. In a rush of excitement I asked my hair stylist to give me that style, which, with his customary skill and flair, he did. One perfect, geometric bob later..... I hate it. I can't style it with the cute little twenties cheekbone curl I wanted and it's too short ! I am counting the HOURS till it grows and scour the internet for articles on how to grow my hair faster ! It simply doesn't suit me, make my face look fat and the best thing about it is that all the damage is cut off. Thank you for your fantastic videos and great advice! But sometimes even photographs let us down!
Been looking into bobs lately, specifically searching for an "old money bob" and I completely relate to the last point you made. The names really are kind of useless since there are SO many definitions for each look and nearly every source uses a different name for the same thing. It's super frustrating.
I have straight hair and it won't hold a curl very good but I'm growing it out from a super short style. After 5 months of no haircuts I'm getting a trim to start shaping it into a bob so this video came at the perfect time.
@Justin Hickox I have a LOT of thick wavy Indian now fully gray hair. I’ve heard stylists politely say with no malice that my hair is like styling Chewbacca and their arms get tired from all the cutting and drying time. How to cut my hair seems to stump younger stylists with less experience styling “Chewbaccas”. Thank you for advising your clients to take pictures in and have conversations but I feel this only has worked for me after a stylist has cut my hair a few times and then fully knows what will work due to all the volume, bend and weight my hair has. After a few times cutting my hair when I bring pics in, they know how to advise me and steer me in the right direction. I’ve had to learn the hard way that if I switch stylists I have to be patient knowing he or she may have a learning curve. Some have gotten it and some never will and that’s not a dig on them. In my 53 years, I’ve only had 2 stylists who have really gotten it and made me look way better. The first was when I was in my late 20s and he cut my hair for 2 years and then moved away which devastated me. The second is now and I’ve had to go through many years and nice but just ok haircuts by different stylists. In this past year with a new stylist, I hung in with her and she totally gets my hair now and really talks with me about what will work and why because she knows my hair “dna” ❤ I’m praying she doesn’t move 😂
Super helpful Justin! I really appreciated this info and also how miscommunication can simply happen by a difference regarding hair style interpretations and “definitions”! From my teens until now, I have assumed the stylist “knew” that both our perspectives were what I had pictured in my mins. Personally, I appreciate a stylist that tells me how a certain technique with my hair texture or length, will not give me exactly what I was desiring to achieve. Also, that if I went through with certain hairstyles, it would require work and product! lol 😊 Thanks so much for clarifying the bobs too.
In 84 I was in Italy by a hairdresser in Villa Ricca near Napoli, found there the best hairdresser I ever had(even better than a hairstylist in The Hague) He did cut my hair in a Italian bob, short. And told me that it is easy to treat it.Wash your hair, put foam gel in wet hair, then comb it towel dry and style it 🤗
I brought pictures into the salon and the hairdresser still cut my Bob wrong. On one side the layers are inch and half shorter. I’m just letting it grow out long since I can’t find anyone to cut my hair correctly. Then I’ll have it trimmed up to even it out. I miss the days when my mom was a hairdresser and you got what you asked for.
I always had quite long as stright as it gets hair but as I get older (47) the length doesn't do me any favours as hair quality isn't the same any more and it just 'sits' there dead as a door nail. I've discovered a bob is my best friend now. Jaw line length, a bit layered, some suitable colour. I hardly ever use hair dryer so hair isn't too dry or damaged. My hair is fine but plenty kind so I love going to bed with wet hair with mousse in (I always use products that add volume) and get up with dry, raised whatever bed head and style it with straighteners and make it wavy (I'm totally fed up with my natural stright hair and unruly waves reflect my character) which is easy and takes 10min. Most volume is achieved by using hair dryer head down but that's for special occasions as I really can't be bothered.
I thought that too! Despite ALWAYS specifying that I didn't want a bob, I always ended up with one. Now I see it was the box bob I was opposed to! With some layers, a bob might actually work for me.
The same hairstyles ALL recycle just like fashion. There is only so much one can do with hair. Since you’re soooooo frustrated Karen, why don’t YOU come up with something new that NO ONE has ever worn before?
@@connienash3666 you too should come up with one that no one has ever worn or seen before. It’s amazing how people come to the comments and complain, but I don’t see you coming up with anything brand new! Instead of complaining be the inventor.
I know from experience you’re absolutely right about the name vs the type of Bob! The client is better off bringing in a photo and explaining why they want the cut. The stylist will be able to tell you if your hair texture, and length can be done.
What would be a good style Bob, for those us with thicker wavy hair? The triangle look is so hard to not end up with. I’ve been searching for a stylist in our town that has expanded her techniques by continuing to learn more in classes or presentations. My former stylist moved states.
I love having a bob . My hair’s been every length and I’ve shaved my head twice . The problem with bobs is finding a good stylist that does it right for you. The right length style and shape for your hair and face and working to make sure enough length or bulk is removed and making sure you don’t end up like Lord Farquuad ! A lot of stylists don’t take the time to really work through the cut properly or ask the right questions about how you will style it after etc and you go home wash it and bam lord farquuad !
Glad I found this video. This old lady (me) has had the "micro bob" for the last 2 years. I didn't know I was so trendy. LOL Helped me make the decision to keep it, as I go get my hair cut today. :)
I have a bob. First one that I ever loved. I used a picture of Rachel McAdams for my stylist to go off of. I have naturally curly hair and this is the first time my hair has curled tgis much when cut short. My hair doesn't curl much at the crown. Love it still
This is so helpful love watching you I had a bob yrs back but with naturally wavey thick hair it was work every day so as much as I love never again for me 😁
This was so helpful! I’ve been looking for photo of a bob with some layers in front and couldn’t find one I liked. Typed in Italian Bob and lots to choose from to show my stylist. It’s now a regular bob that I had stylist add in a few bang-length wisps but want something more. Hair is 75% gray, thick ,and a bit wavy. Cutting off the length ( lol, that’s in my profile pic) 6 months ago was a game changer. Every day is a good hair day now. Love your channel!!
Unfortunately, we don't ALL have Justin as our hairdresser 😢 Personally, I have had nothing else but one disappointment after another. So I wait until my hair grows. Unfortunately, too, is that my hair is so straight, so maybe I should try a bit of a perm.😮
I was thinking that too with my very straight hair. My teenage son gets perms and looks great! Mine is colored though, I will ask my stylist. I permed all through the 80s and one in the 90s I loved it. Then styles became stick straight, I certainly never needed a flat iron😂
I currently have a long bob. My hair is on the thin side, but I have a lot of it, so no matter what style I have it cut, I must use product to achieve a look that satisfies me. That being said, I have always taken photos to my stylist, illustrating the overall look I am shooting for, and have the cut modified to suit my hair type. It seems to be working, with the help of texturizing powder, to give my hair volume on top, where it is greatly needed. I never even knew the names of the bob types in your video, and I don't worry so much about getting a style that diverges from what I really want, because I have been with my stylist for years and she knows me, my taste, and what works for my hair type. Good video.
I have very thick hair with multiple textures and the default haircut as a kid was a bob, mostly because every haircut was done in our unfinished basement with kitchen scissors. Both of those reasons are why I refuse to try a bob again. For the most part, I just cut my own hair now because it's disappointing to pay $100 for an appt to come home and have to fix it or keep it tied up until it grows out.
I have a pic of myself in the 1st grade with one of those dull kitchen scissor bobs! I hate Bob cuts to this day but seems like that's all my stylist knows how to cut.
I've got fine, thin hair and have mostly worn bobs for the last 20 yrs. Actually the box bob works great for me and I tend to wear it shorter, parted either in the middle or the side. Works great as long as I've got a stylist who is skilled at precision. I always request that it angles very, very slightly toward the front. I also love a lightly layered bob that worn between the chin and collar bone. With both cuts I very styling from big round brush to a paddle brush, always rough dry first.
Thank you for sharing mistakes. I am thinking to have bob haircut for the first time. Will definitely not mention any name. My hairdresser once suggested one type of bob haircut. But I couldn't understand. Hope so when I tell her she chooses right bob
The last thing you told us, was the BEST information!!!!…I totally agree with you!….another awesome video, Justin!!!…I hope you have a safe flight home!!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜
I have a wavy hair, and ive been doing french bob for quite some times. I have a video to go for my hairdresser, its a french bob cut tutorial, every cut there is always something different lol
Too many hairdressers think a bob is simple, but it isn't and often they are cut badly. This week I asked for a cut that amounted to a shoulder length 90s Bob. I got a nearly chin length box bob. I actually stopped her cutting my fringe as a dreaded the result. It will grow but I miss my last hairdresser who actually listened and knew her stuff.
I have been growing out my pixie cut. And I would love a bob. Now I know what kind I want too. I will be looking for pictures to take to my stylist. And pray that I like it when they are done. But I’m still waiting for the sides to grow out more. So it may be spring before I get my haircut.
Love your videos! Just wish I lived in your area so I could get a decent haircut! Fine super straight hair that I’m told needs to be cut in blunt cut bob … hate it!
I love the last bob. I always bring prictures to the salon. I have trouble with shorter haircuts because of how thick my hair is but it's so much faster to style and look glamorous.
Hi Justin, I love your videos and tutorials, I use to do hair but try to keep up with what's new. Thank you because you help me do this and I enjoy listening to your videos. Again thank you and keep up doing your amazing tutorials !
In 2012 I has a stacked bob, was cute when I went back to have it cut again…she could never get it right cut after cut. I left her. Fast forward to last fall….again tried a bob,…blunt bob. ..different stylist. First cut was cute and guess what. Went back for a 5 week trim & she didn’t get it the same as the first cut. I’ve been going to this lady 7 years. What’s wrong with stylist’s anymore.
I love the 90s BoB…to fall right on my shoulders…I always grow my hair long then get a nice 90s Bob haircut that will grow into the Italian BoB..to my long hair again….
More face shapes please. I am heart shape/fine thinning hair at 74. Long woeks cause its easy to put up and just go. But shampoing is a tangled mess. What would you recomend
Watching this bc i cut my hair into a pixie super grown out! Half of my hair is passed my chin while the other half is passing my shoulders 😭i just don’t know what hair cut to get to define my hair again.. it’s been 10 months since my last trim 😆
I'd love your opinion on what hair dryer to buy. I have damaged my hair with at home coloring and heated blow drying and flat ironing. I'm ready to stop coloring and I want to use a safer hair dryer and ultimately wear my natural curls once the damaged hair has grown out enough for me to have it cut. Any advice?
I brought in a picture of what I wanted to my new hairdresser. What I got wasn't even close to the picture and I absolutely HATED my haircut. I'm now growing it out and hoping for something different soon.
So sorry to hear that happened! That happens at times even when you bring in photos and try to explain what you want. Don't stop taking photos though....they still explain what you want better than words ever can. Sounds like you just found the wrong stylist this time. Hope it grows out fast for you!
Thanks for a really good video; entertaining and informative. I had what I just discovered is a "bubble bob" for years. After awhile, I wanted a more blunt (box?) bob but my hair cutter just couldn't seem to get it. To be fair, it always looked great and was super easy to style, I just got tired of the round shape. It felt too suburban mom. I'm ready to go back to a bob, it's the easiest style for my hair. This was so helpful.
What hairstyle do you recommend for a very round face?? Currently hair length sits on top of shoulders. Thick and some body. Frustrated and want something that will look good with my face shape and be easy to air dry.
I love bobs! LOVE them! Did I say I love them lol and love the look of the ‘box bob’ forced it on my thick textured hair for years then I grew it out - now I really want the Italian bob! My family is gonna hate it they love longer hair on me 😂
What do you call Emma Darcy’s recent hairstyle? It’s short and round in the back but the front is swept back and then drapes down to chin length, I guess? I’m illiterate, but i love their current look and have been trying to achieve it … unsuccessfully 😬
Wish you had mentioned more face shapes thsn just round.i have heart shape face / thinning white hair. Right now its mid back long..easy to just put up but tangls so bad after shampoo. Thinking a shirt cut might be
I call the bull@#$ card on all the different names for a Bob! I have thin, fine white hair that I’ve worn in a Bob since the 80’s. I change it up now & again with bangs or a middle or side part. The hardest part is finding a stylist who knows how to cut barely there hair!
The different names are because of how they may look on your face shape plus how they are styled. But technically, yes, they are all a “bob”. I have one length shorter hair because my hair is thin and one length makes it look more full.
I have fine curly hair. It’s got a little straighter since I’m older. Especially on the time. I don’t colour my hair anymore. It’s about shoulder length but as it gets longer tits stringy. What hairstyle would be good for me. Thank you.
I kinda want the micro bob, I’m starting to get tired of all this long hair, the only problem there is if it would bring out my big dark brown eyes that I don’t like
I have considered cutting my hair but I'm just not there yet. I do have a question though....have you ever done a video on why certain hair colors turn orange when trying to lighten it to a lighter brown. I'm getting frustrated.
thank you for the interesting info. I was looking for bobs matching difference type of faces. I am diamond face with very thin hair. Which bob would fit me most? Thanks!
Great video…so when are you coming to the Monterey Peninsula…my problem would be solved, oh, my sister lives in Portland so maybe I could visit you!…..your content is always spot on

I have a chronically ill 19 yr old that really needs a new haircut amd encouragement, and there are no hair salons we can trust to give her a new look. Her hair has thinned out a lot from her sickness. Thanks for your videos.
Hope you manage to do something to lift her spirits. She is lucky to have such a caring and considerate father. Best wishes 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
😅
Your haircut is my favorite too. I always looked best with a bob like this since the late 80s and 90s. Younger aged stylists don't cut hair like this though. They texturize the ends too much. I dont want a haircut with all different lengths ending in points. I love the fullness look and feel of thicker ends.
❤
Thank you I thank you helped me.
I never ever get tired of you advice and your posts ...soo good . Thanks Justin ⚘️
Reminds me of the time my hubby asked for a "scissor cut", and walked out with a Caesar cut! 😂 He was not a happy camper 😂😂
Castor oil or rosemary oil
Prenatal vitamins!
And told me that it is easy to treat it.Wash your hair, put foam gel in wet hair, then comb it towel dry and style it 🤗
What is a good bob for thick hair and I want the bottom thinner and more body on towards the top?
Zenday is looking like the best hair dresser in to Hollywood star 🌟 🤩 😊
What about curly bobs? What’s kind of cut do we ask for to avoid that triangle shape? Can you do a video showing different curly bobs?
Why can’t stylists come up with anything else but a “Bob”?! It’s so frustrating!!
I thought that too! Despite ALWAYS specifying that I didn't want a bob, I always ended up with one. Now I see it was the box bob I was opposed to! With some layers, a bob might actually work for me.
Would like to see something besides bobs..
I totally agree!
Instead of complaining be the inventor.
my daughter (9y) cut me a bob, yesterday. It looks great! 😅
I know from experience you’re absolutely right about the name vs the type of Bob! The client is better off bringing in a photo and explaining why they want the cut. The stylist will be able to tell you if your hair texture, and length can be done.
As a hairstylist I appreciate a client bringing in a picture or two or three evens and tell me what they like and dislike about each one
What would be a good style Bob, for those us with thicker wavy hair? The triangle look is so hard to not end up with. I’ve been searching for a stylist in our town that has expanded her techniques by continuing to learn more in classes or presentations. My former stylist moved states.
so bring a photo & they still ignore it & cut 4" shorter. been there done that 4 times
YES! Same with layering for me! 😩
Me too simple instruction hair dresser will not follow very dis appointing
Thank you. I agree with your opinions. They're logical. I also don't like the box bob. Way too hard for most faces.
Love it still
I have curly hair. Could you do a video on that. Curly hair is so difficult.
Unfortunately, we don't ALL have Justin as our hairdresser 😢
Personally, I have had nothing else but one disappointment after another.
Justin, what about wavy-curly bob. I have a wavy-curly - loose curls bob. Chin length with bangs. Get so many compliments. I have an oval face.
What about for CURLY HAIR??
What is the Bob that longer in the front? Did you skip that one?
My thoughts! Naturally curly hair is so rarely represented.
You're the best, Justin! Thanks SO much for your wonderful, really helpful advice!
Thank you for this video and explaining the discrepancies in the names…wow!! 😃
Great informative video. I love a bob! Have had some version most of my 55 years. Now, which one to pick next?
The last thing you told us, was the BEST information!!!!…I totally agree with you!….another awesome video, Justin!!!…I hope you have a safe flight home!!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you Linda! Yeah…if I’m honest, the whole trend and name game in hairstyles is kind of annoying.
@@justinhickox you are always honest with me!…love that!👏👏👏👏
I have a wavy hair, and ive been doing french bob for quite some times. I have a video to go for my hairdresser, its a french bob cut tutorial, every cut there is always something different lol
Perfect !!!!! I have a shoulder length right now and I want a shic Bob. Dyeing it chocolate brown
I wish you lived in my city so I could get my hair cut by you! Thanks for another great video. Love your channel.
Thank you Master Justin.God bless Mister Justin and family.😀🙏👍🙋🏻♀
I have naturally curly hair , thin frizzy and fine. How do i get the right jaircut shape for root lift but also full looking ends?
Curly bobs are trending as well. Different bobs - curly edition would be great! 🤩
My favorite one: Sarah Jessica Parker in satc season 5
Hi Justin, I love your videos and tutorials, I use to do hair but try to keep up with what's new. Thank you because you help me do this and I enjoy listening to your videos. Again thank you and keep up doing your amazing tutorials !
Is micro bob better if angled and layered for a fine thin, super straight hair?
Bob is Bob no matter the name. The name can change, terminology change, Bob, no change!
Any advice?
OMG!!! THERE'S ALL information i was looking for these years😢❤❤ Thaaaaank you!!
and i subscribed your chanel😊
I brought in a picture of what I wanted to my new hairdresser. What I got wasn't even close to the picture and I absolutely HATED my haircut. I'm now growing it out and hoping for something different soon.
So sorry to hear that happened! That happens at times even when you bring in photos and try to explain what you want. Don't stop taking photos though....they still explain what you want better than words ever can. Sounds like you just found the wrong stylist this time. Hope it grows out fast for you!
I wish a stylist would recommend hairstyles based on face shapes specially for older women
Me too!!
Thank you for giving my bob a name! This makes so much sense.
Not to disparage suburban moms, btw! I live in the suburbs now🙂. I was an urban college student back then.
I have a square face so the rounded bubble bob is perfect for me. A square box bob doesn't suit me.
What hairstyle do you recommend for a very round face?? Currently hair length sits on top of shoulders. Thick and some body. Frustrated and want something that will look good with my face shape and be easy to air dry.
Just in time for my hair appointment this week!
I love bobs! LOVE them! Did I say I love them lol and love the look of the ‘box bob’ forced it on my thick textured hair for years then I grew it out - now I really want the Italian bob! My family is gonna hate it they love longer hair on me 😂
I do too. I've just had a very blunt rounded bob cut on my fine thin hair and it looks tons better!
Love the box bob with some internal layers in the back. I can wear it straight or wavy and gives amazing volume!
What do you call Emma Darcy’s recent hairstyle? It’s short and round in the back but the front is swept back and then drapes down to chin length, I guess? I’m illiterate, but i love their current look and have been trying to achieve it … unsuccessfully 😬
*hair illiterate LOl
Totally have the same problem. Barely there hair and stylists that don’t know how to deal with it.
I have fine curly hair. It’s got a little straighter since I’m older. Especially on the time. I don’t colour my hair anymore. It’s about shoulder length but as it gets longer tits stringy. What hairstyle would be good for me. Thank you.
I have wavy hair and thin hair on crown area . Which of the these bob haircuts would you suggest me ?.
I kinda want the micro bob, I’m starting to get tired of all this long hair, the only problem there is if it would bring out my big dark brown eyes that I don’t like
What? How about the French Bob?And I have a square face and high cheekbones. What would be a good bob for me
i have a lot of hair but fine and waxy wanting to get a good chin lenght hair cut what would you suggest, i am 70 thank you
I have considered cutting my hair but I'm just not there yet. I do have a question though....have you ever done a video on why certain hair colors turn orange when trying to lighten it to a lighter brown. I'm getting frustrated.
Justin, I wish you were here in NZ. If you have any recommendations for a salon/cutter here particularly for bobs, please do tell! Cheers.
thank you for the interesting info. I was looking for bobs matching difference type of faces. I am diamond face with very thin hair. Which bob would fit me most? Thanks!
This is very helpful! I've been trying to ask my stylist for a "layered bob.' Thank you!
bravo pour ces copieuses recherches, c'est une démarche vraiment sympathique , et vous êtes très professionnel , généreux meme! je m'abonne!
Zendaya’s bob is the prettiest I’ve seen in a long time!
Great video…so when are you coming to the Monterey Peninsula…my problem would be solved, oh, my sister lives in Portland so maybe I could visit you!…..your content is always spot on
