    Great instructional video. talked to a dealer about rebuilding the front forks they said it was a real pain to do and cost $500. They might need to watch this video to learn the painless way!

    I replaced my seal on my 97 Valk after watching this video. The only problem I ran into was compressing the tube so I could place the lock nut on dampener. So I used what I had lol. A ratchet tie down. I put the ratchet end on top, with it hooked in the side hole of the tube. Tied the strap around the bottom. Worked like a charm.

      Yes. Good idea. I fabricated a tool instead. A ratchet strap would have been less time consuming. However, I enjoyed making the tool and now I have it.

      I'm working on a 98. Just finished the left fork now on the right. Great video. Got my fingers crossed she starts. Sat for so long I had to go through the carbs. Huge job, trust me. Especially getting them back in. The part that was a nightmare was getting those air box rubbers fully sat back on the carbs.

    Thanks for making this video. I have a 99 Valkyrie Interstate with same leaky seals. After dealing with IDIOTS at Honda dealer, I'm doing this and a carb rebuild myself!

    Awesome video! Everything looks simple except for one thing. How did you get the spring compressed and get the snap ring back in place? I have progressive springs in mine which will be even more stiff. Thank you for the video!

    Would have been nice if you gave Allen wrench size for each of the nuts as well as the nut size on the fork top nut. Giving torque specs ask you gowould have been nice as well.

    Is it necessary to remove the dampening rod to separate the upper tube from the lower tube on the right fork?

  • @BazzSelby
    @BazzSelby 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent information, and a great plastic bag', tip! I've been riding Valk's, for 5yrs, and never knew the left fork, had no dampener rod. Me being me, just thought, both forks would have the same, identical, internals. So, why no dampener rod, in the left?

    Thanks for a great video. I felt confident to rebuild with your help. One question...there is all kinds of chatter about fork oil, so as you are the expert, how much oil goes in the right fork?

    • @RaymoreRepair
      @RaymoreRepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That question was answered already. I see by your other post you have seen that. Thank you for watching

    How many CCs of oil did you put on the right side for?

      That is a Park Tools stand. I think it was originally used to repair bicycles. It works great for anything round you don't want to damage.

    What did you use as a fork seal driver? What did you use to compress the spring while you put the upper C-clip back in.

    My damper rod bolt just keeps spinning, cant get it out, or tighten it back it. Bottom part of the rod is spinning with no way to hold it, any advice?

      Honda and the aftermarket have tools to hold that damper rod. Thank you for watching.

    Hello
    Excuse me
    Honda Valkyrie FORK Fluid capacity
    May I ask if the left and right sides have the same capacity?
    There is still a difference. How much CC is on the right? How much CC is on the left?
    The book says the left and right are different
    I'm confused
    Thanks

    • @RaymoreRepair
      @RaymoreRepair  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The right side has a capacity of 670cc and the left is 744cc. Thank you for watching.
