Awesome vid and super clear. Had to replace the basket hub again after about a year, but didn't know to calibrate it that first time when I removed too many items. This time I noticed the gear coming up into the tub was so rusted, most of the teeth were worn badly. Replaced the gear case and basket hub. Read in the hidden service book it should be calibrated, but couldn't get it to work. Watched this video and did exactly what he did, even though my main dial didn't have all the same names around the dial. Took me a few times, but finally got the turns done in the "less than 6 seconds" required by Maytag. Followed advice on video and the Bravos model did about a minute of calibration. First 3 loads had a high pitched squeal going into spin mode, but I figured the calibration would take care of that. Runs perfect. Also for those that don't know, the "service book" is taped to the inside of the washer, between the tub and front wall inside of a plastic envelope. Tells you all the info you need to read repair codes and a bunch of other advanced mumbo jumbo I didn't understand.
This was huge! I couldn’t re calibrate to save my life. Until he showed how to get out of diagnostic mode. Then after holding the start button I was able to run the recalibrate process. Thanks!
The calibration cleared a grinding sound that was emitting from our MAYTAG Washer model: MVWC465HW. Just a reminder to end the Diagnostics Mode after calibration to return to normal operation (long press on the Start/Pause button). Many thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I had to break the wash plate and use the back end of the hammer to get that part out. Then Since the tube wouldn't let loose from the main drive system I was hesitant on breaking something else. I was lucky enough to have a friend come over that had some more knowledge on these things. He put a small 2x4 long wise over the main drive shaft and hit the 2x4 with a sold hit and it finally let loose. So after cleaning the bottom part and hoses etc,it's looking like I have a faulty lid lock switch and possibly a bad control panel as well. The start button works I know,When I out the unit into Diagnostic mode but. The Light On the board are only showing orange. No red, no green. And when I hit start on the machine its not activating the lid lock. And going through all the cycle's in the dig mode. It will only add water in the washing machine. But anyway Like I said Thanks for the reply and your Vids.
Christopher Deslauriers unless it has been removed, the tech booklet should be either in the control panel or on the front of the cabinet on the inside of the cabinet.
thank you so much i had no lights to see codes but was still able to turn dial for diagnostic and then lights came up ! i thought it all began with over size load and spin cycle along with blowing a fuse for lights. seems to be working now thanks again!!!!!
I have a Bravo model of Maytag and it would spin out of balance. I just changed the suspension rods and that solved the problem for about 5 washes. Now it's out of balance again. I did the re-calibration and the Spin light stayed on and blinking. Any advice?
P.s I have popped out the center hub,Undone the bolt. But the strainer is not wanting to let loose. Did your strainer come out easy or did you haft to pry it out. Hi , i have combo Maytag washer and dryer .When i press start botten the solenoid opening water in the second i take my finger away from start botten it's stop working please advise Thanks.
I have followed the steps to recalibrate I have done this before after I replaced a part on it and it worked but now after I recalibrate it and I try to wash a load of laundry it goes straight to agitating the load instead of putting water first I have recalibrated it 4 times now
And if the lights are orange instead of green? Replaced actuator, water valves and Gear Clutch..Still sensing light goes on, waits, makes noises, goes off, over & over. Tried different bulk wash, since it quit on Normal. Had to hand rinse clothes, water still standing in it..
rinse (4) + spin (2) + done (1) = F7 done = E1 so you have F7E1 Supposedly the "shift actuator" I replace the shift actuator after getting this code and even after diagnostics and calibration I still have the same code and it does not spin
Sir would it be possible to send me the manual with the blinking light codes please? I’ve looked for it everywhere and cannot find it. reysmith1978@gmail.com Need help bad sir.
I have the same machine as your.......I cannot find the error code list....the only one I can find is for those with the electronic display......where can I find a list of codes that displays what the error is based on the number of blinks
can you enter the calibration diagnostics mode if the washer has the sensing light on? Mine will not leave the sensing mode even after unplugging it for a long time.
Someone who knows. Hi. I am a technician in Australia I have a customer with a Maytag mat20mn (I think) it’s not letting hot water in on hot settings cold only then maybe a few seconds of hot at the end of filling. Not enough to even make the water warm. After a conversation with tech support I replaced the main PCB and recalibrate . After that it filled with cold water only, about 30 second later it pumped out and turned off. Tech support in Australia said they don’t know what’s wrong and cannot help. Any thoughts? I am unable to contact tech support in the U. S. I just get redirected to au site.
Our washer keeps getting stuck in diagnostics. It will keep shake violently and not stop. After 5 minutes we have to unplug the washing machine . Any ideas? Thanks
Where do i find the meaning of the error codes or to read them for my Maytag bravos mtc ? I have no digital display so it the light blinking after i run the diagnostics i get the sensing rinse and done lights blinking
Where can I find the service manual for this machine? I can't find anywhere to tell me what all the other settings do other than the calibrate function you showed.
And how do I get to that manual inside of the washing machine? I cannot get the lid to come completely off not the lid to you put your clothes in but the whole front part top of the lid to come off so that I can access to get the manual, please I hope you see this message soon I really need to know how to get to the manual so that I don’t have to spend money that I don’t have to fix the washing machine. OK, but better if there were more info afterward. Mine went into 'sensing' for a long time... I didn't know what "normal' time was for it to do its thing. . 2 minutes? 20 minutes? An hour? 2 weeks? Mine lit up 'sensing' then the drain pump ran for 10 minutes before I finally unplugged the thing.
Two questions.....1) How do you recalibrate a newer model Maytag MVWX700XL2, after replacing the actuator (It shows the error codes on a digital screen). I can't seem to find instructions to recalibrate a newer Maytag after a repair. 2) I've done everything to remove my Maytag Bravos XL washer pulsator (some call it a washer plate)...it won't budge. It raises up about 1/2 inch and seems to hit something, like it's locked in place. I want to check for coins that may be stuck underneath. I don't know what else to try. I tried turning it from side to side, as if it's washing, but it won't move back & forth either.....not sure if that's possible with the power off. What could be the problem ??
Just did this to mine as I found clothes to still be wet after the final drain and spin cycle. I thought I was going to kill me. It scared my cats and my hubby. Must be off balanced or something.
This changes from models. No name, just the model. Diagnostics are different from year to year and the new matching set you got yesterday, was built 5 years ago. No diagnostics, no flow chart, no schematics and blinking lights? GM had this in 1981 with blink codes. 12=ok, 23=TPS, and so on. Give me the rotary reed switch with a timer motor on it, and maybe I will call for repair in 23 years. It is cheap to put everything onto a $23.58 circuit board that retails from Maytag only at $312 plus shipping. Installation not include except in second service call. Another $114! Congrats Maytag on you move out of the USA into Mexico and printed circuit boards from China! Wonderful business model to increase billable hours for repair shops as customers with extensive backgrounds in electronics can do nothing as the washing machine new installed yesterday was built 5 years ago. Show me the date, enter diagnostics and the blinking code chart. I have a $500 Fluke 87-5 DMM and folks, don't let it move with an unbalanced load, like tennis shoes. You get a "Spin" light blinking and that will cost you a service call! $100-$150 depending on where you live and the tax structure as this is a service. That is taxed by your state & city. Congrats on your purchase. We are pleased even if you are not.

Some models have a spanned but holding the tub in place. That may be what’s keeping the tub from coming out.
Where can ya find the codes? The online version?
There should be a service manual inside the front panel either up the top or down the bottom. In a sleeve stuck to the cover

Where did u get that error code list?
It’s in the washer when you take the top off, in the front left corner. There’s a little booklet.

You won't Maytag charges service people for it.
Your fault codes are in the machine. You may have to go from underneath and it’s taped to the inside of the washer shell.
Thank you been trying to find a way to fix my same washer it only works when it wants too
Wow! It finally worked. You’re right it’s all about the timing. Thank you. FYI I have a whirlpool whirlpool wtw5000dw1.
Thank you...helped a bunch!
Hi my sons Maytag Bravo has the with rinse and spin , when we tried the code in is blinking Yellow on the Spin light 😅
Is there a site where I can view the error flashing codes? Can’t find mine on the washer
I get the led light sensing, rinse, spin, done and the done light. So is that a 4 blink then 1? What code is that?
Mine elites up all, did you figure it out?
rinse (4) + spin (2) + done (1) = F7
done = E1
so you have F7E1
Supposedly the "shift actuator"
I replace the shift actuator after getting this code and even after diagnostics and calibration I still have the same code and it does not spin
Do you have in PDF that manual?

WHAT do the various flashing lights mean. I get 2 - it fills well with one item, barely fills with 2" with 10 items
Is the drum dropping really fast as it fills? Could be suspension rods
what does it mean when ALL lights light up (except lid lock) and blink twice & repeat?
