Thanks for commenting - I love to educate on the Boss gear \m/ - there is a whole GT series of videos from the day I got it to all the things i explored with it, and have left links to various sample packs or tones, or pedal board. Depending on how you look at it, the GT-1000 is either a tone chaser's dream or a tone chaser's nightmare. There are so many changeable parameters that it can almost become overwhelming. I do like what you said about getting back to basics, essentially, and just working on a good guitar tone. Thanks for the tutorial. Many of the setting parameters make a lot more sense now than they did when I started.

      Hey man - i've had quite the request to do some 4 cable method stuff, and i'm all for it - but i've seen ALOT OF GUYS demonstrate that already and pretty well too. For me, i prefer plugin and get the sound i'm after at the end from the output - i've done a few videos later on showing some new IRs etc, and i must say the tone i'm getting TODAY is the best i've ever had. Make sure you are not peaking your output, but what I do is find my last eq or compression slot and add or subtract 2 or 3db to balance, it's all a matter of taste though cause at home my patches sound fine but then live I normally have to adjust clean, overdrive, distortion and solo to different levels give or take 2db. Gotta remember the room and gear you play into will make a difference. Just keep your eyes on the output meter to not peak.

    hey Jared, thanks for the informative vids. Just a quick question - I have the latest version, I am playing the GT1000 thru two Nextone stages using 7 cable method. I cant for the life of me find out how to run one internal sim thru one amp and another thru the other. i figure that it must be possible but i can only get a blend of both sims thru both nextones. Do you know what i am missing? Perhaps i need to have the tone studio?

      Have you unlatched the stereo pair at master and sub blocks? Should help visually

    • @bobbuilder7946
      @bobbuilder7946 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JaredGunstonTVhi Jared, yes, thanks for the reply, I finally found out how to do it. Switching off stereo link on the Master L and R out block so that I could take the separate master outs and place one at the end of the the upper divider where amp one is and the other at the end of the lower. Simple once you know. .. where it divides has to be set to dual and where the divider returns back together has to be set to L/R, not stereo. Then each side of the divide will be sent out the different channels. That same mixer block set to L/R will then give options for the level of each amp, the ratio of the two amps and the stereo spread.
      It sounds amazing, I am still working out which amps work best together. The ones I am enjoying the most on their own are the twin combo (twin reverb) and the tweed combo (bassman). Set at full gain and volume, on the low gain setting and basically a flat eq, a little treble added with no presence or resonance. Very similar amps, the twin being a cleaner more refined bassman. It's astonishing how it sounds and feels, the whole rig is unbelievably good. I'm playing an American Ultra strat with the S1 switch which allows all 3 pickups together or bridge and neck together, it sounds heavenly. Like the whole rig and guitar were built specifically to work together, the tone and feel is perfect. Not the cheapest but still not as costly as a genuine old twin reverb and it performs incredibly with all the other sims. Highly recommend it for a live rig, the new version of the GT has the nextone stage as an AIRD output option so it sounds just like they designed it to, I basically don't have to touch any of the eqs or tone stacks, it's all flat and perfect. Couldn't be happier. 🤘🥳

    I’m super close to exchanging this thing for a Helix again, an amp, or a new guitar and saying fuck it. I do not feel like they made a very intuitive product here. It’s not fun to use. I at least did enjoy the Helix 😭
    I just fuck with this all day trying to make a tone, and I’m more frustrated at the end of the day than I was at the beginning, with no better a tone.

    • @JaredGunstonTV
      @JaredGunstonTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its fun for me... and easy, but i have been using GT products since the GT-3. The thing with Boss is you need to design a tone that works with your guitar, and once you get it there, nothing will ever come close. It will take awhile, I'm constantly going in and adjusting as my environments change, but they great devices man. And VERY easy to use, you just gotta understand it, which is why I make these videos - trying to help guys understand them.

      @JaredGunstonTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scottpeters4401 Yeah i cant confirm whether it does or does not cut them down, that'd be the first time i hear of such a technique, but I speak closely with the folk from boss and know its quite a big process for the unit and requires more processing then we think, so i assume it uses the full 500, cause i load 96khz IRs without any problem. And just on a personal note I use 44.1 on my laptop and cant say i hear a difference, i know the elite guys are going to say they can.... i've been playing guitar most of my life and whether its 44.1 or 96 i am happy. :)

      @@JaredGunstonTV BG combo I meant. A mark series emulation. If you want a good IR check out "Zeta IR pack" and the deizel 1 and 2 irs. They are better than anything I've tried from ML. Seriously, they are an absolute gem.

      @@ERBarratt downloaded and will give them a test. I am a very happy customer to ML mainly due to his 121 mic, I see these are only 57 which I am not a fan of but regardless will give a try. Always good to pass on this kind of info

    What speakers should I buy with the gt 1000.

      Completely up to you, currently I plug straight into the back of an active alto which the venue I work at provides. I have a 1x12 being made for me to try out to soon. Completely up to your taste man.

    How would the GT-1000 go with a 5150 iii 50w?

    Great video. I've been playing a pedalboard (GT-8, GT-1) straight to the desk for a long time with a monitor. Get a bit of stick from guitarists for not using an amp and cab though. Only playing small venues so I'm happy to carry less gear. What are you listening through when you set up a tone? I use my monitor but maybe I should use the FoH system.

      To clarify I got the GT-1 after seeing your comparison video and thought that'll be a good stop gap until the GT-1000 price drops. I bought the GT-1000 today so will be going through all your videos again.

      Hey man! What ever monitor the venue provides, normally an Alto 15 or 12 inch, I run straight from pedal master left to the wedge and my sub outs go to foh so my level on stage I can raise or lower and doesn't affect Engineer. Join the club, the smaller the gear with the biggest sound I am happy. I rocked a gt1 for almost 2 years doing Brian may, bon Jovi pink and Jackson work. I wanna get one again as a backup or for when I do other gigs or multiple venues a week
      All the best

      @@JaredGunstonTV Thanks for your reply. I'm keeping the GT-1 and will use it at Open Mic nights for my acoustics (fits nicely in the gig case). The GT-1000 is going to take up a lot of my time for the next few weeks. I just love getting that tone plus programming in the options for the bridge/solo/etc. Happy days!
