Sound advice about taking a map and compass (and knowing how to read it/navigate); so many people rely on their phone software or GPS devices alone, not realising that if they fail then they are stuffed
The phones apps aren't good enough, not only are they sometimes inaccurate, but there's also a lag on your location. The pointer doesn't always point in the direction your looking either (even when the phone is turned) so what you see on the phone, and even on OSMaps isn't always what your looking at on the ground. You don't get these problems with a map, I find it way more accurate & enjoyable.
