    A majority of Turkish voters abroad have already voted with their feet. They voted that they couldn't find the jobs or opportunities they would have liked within Turkey. Then they got to a better place for them economically but not necessarily culturally and got all nationalistic from afar. And nationalistic means Erdogan. They should reflect on why they left Turkey in the first place instead of messing it up for Turkish people who are still there.

    As far as the building codes go.... my father was a building inspector for over 20 years, he was state level, but he still had to follow the national guidelines per the government. Which is why he rose to the level of president of BOCA at one point to make the national guidelines. His only comment to me about his work was I'm not going to sign off on anything someone says is OK, I'm not going to be responsible for people dying and lose everything because someone lied. The current president of turkey is responsible for the enforcement of builders to follow the code and make housing safe. He won his election the first time over a mismanagement of earthquake funds and safety, he will lose on the same podium he won on. He's corrupt and is trying to play a dangerous game with nato and russia, you can't trust him.

    27:18 akp led the government for the past 21 years. If there is someone to blame it’s them. Akp led government was responsible to prepare for this earthquake which was not unexpected. Furthermore, the aftermath showed that how incapable the government was to help its citizens.
    Lack of organizational capabilities in the first hour’s and then scandals where the Red Crescent sold the emergency tents after holding them for 3-4 days where people suffered on the streets under temperatures low as -3 degrees.
    It’s time for a change. And I strongly believe it’s going to happen. Peacefully.

      @rey1953 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not see how you can call 44% inflation doing well for Turkey. Plus many of the election promises he has made are inflationary possibly causing inflation to go back up. Maybe the worse thing is the value of the Lira is predicted to fall further against the USD causing even higher prices. Mr. Erdogan’ s approach is to handle the economy by doing the opposite of what professional economist recommend.

    • @samirzemmache
      @samirzemmache ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rey1953 well professional economists didn’t manage well the inflation neither
      See whats going on in the UK/ US / Europe…. Despite the increase of interest rate , they cant control the inflation
      Plus the level of the interest rate in Turkey was extremely high … he had to bring it down to encourage investment in production/ services rather that saving money in banks and getting high interests
      By the way today’s interest rate in Tirkeye is 8.5 whereby in the UK is 4.5
      Would you imagine the UK increase interest rate to 8.5 never ….

    How can he win?! If you visited Turkey in the last few years, you’re painfully aware of how life has changed for the locals. The inflation, the living costs, the rent and accommodation. On one hand it’s a competitive market for the visitors and foreigners, on another the locals are barely making a minimum living wage! There are so many issues, but the negligence toward the country and the nations is enough.
