    I've read a lot on line from different places that pine is great ~as long as it's been treated especially for a cats used, where they treat it by burning off the toxic oils. I read that we should not use pine made for horse bedding or for wood burners, because they aren't treated and can cause our cats liver damage from the oils inn the wood that are toxic specifically to cats.
    I had already bought a large bag from tractor supply company. Now that I know, I'm giving these pellets to a friend who has a horse. Liver damage is too final.
    I hope you'll pass this along on other comment spaces. Here's to a healthy kitty!

      Yes, thank you! 🙏🏾😁It is crucial to use non-toxic pellets for the kitties!

      As long as they are kiln-dried, they're fine. Wouldn't use the stove ones though.

      We strive for 'good enough to poop on' standards here.😂

    I love your ingenuity! I transitioned my senior cat to pellets and he's not thrilled, but he is 15 and not thrilled with most things. I completely change the pellets every ten days or so, and he spends about 15 minutes examining the new litter, artfully arranging it and flicking a half dozen pieces of the pellets onto the floor. Just to remind me of who is in charge...like I need reminding.

      Thank you so much Andrea!! Ah yes, they certainly like to drop their "subtle" reminders every now and then.😂

    Great idea, thanks for sharing 👍Just one thougt, it is important to make sure that there are no sharp edges around holes on the inner side. When cats scratches the bottom to bury their feces (mine do that very vigorously) they may hurt their paws.

      Very good point, the melting process leaves more of a rounded edge on the holes whereas the drilling method seemed to leave sharper edges. Thanks so much for watching!🤗

    Sounds great, but I'm not brave enough to try this. I'm clumsy as heck, and I know I'd injure myself. But good for you that you've figured this out for yourself!

    My friend has tried the pellets but didn't like the mess that it made when stored. Curious, where do you store yours in the van?

    • @GetterBetterChannel
      @GetterBetterChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The litter box is right at the back of the van, underneath my bed....sounds weird but in a van that tiny it's pretty much gotta be under it or directly beside it. 😂 I keep the extra pellets in an old pet food bag to keep them dry and contained.

    Hi Getter Better

    Using a hot rake looks a bit dangerous to me. A lot easier is to use a soldering iron to poke holes in the plastic box bottoms. Just use this same soldering iron to make holes in plastic flower pots, etc only as some plastic might stick to the tip as it cools down.

    • @GetterBetterChannel
      @GetterBetterChannel  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I did say it was a less safe option.😬 I had attempted this with a soldering iron, but it maybe didn't get hot enough to efficiently burn the holes.

    Hey I was thinking 💨💨😜 (watch one of my yoga trapeze videos to understand what I’m talking about with the straps/handles )it’s just like resistance training 😉but ….
    Why don’t u make shift a few different sized straps with handles that u can put in a tree or ur tropical (winter room) n I can totally show u crazy workouts as if it was a trapeze yoga swing . Because that kind of work out u get from that bad ass n feels great . Let me know ur thoughts 😜
