Applying optional updates fixed all my crashing errors for Fortnite chapter 3. If you have problems with launching the game, try updating your display drivers under "optional updates"
Even though I know all of this, this is becoming one of my favorite channels. Thank you for everything you do. It's so simple, but the information is phenomenal. My coworker always goes into Group Policy Editor, and disables automatic driver updates from Windows Updates for the student laptops, and even staff laptops. I completely agree. There is no need, unless an issue arrives, them we will go update the driver ourselves from the manufacturer.
It depends on the driver, but after installing Windows 10 on any new system I have them install. Oddly, many of these should not be optional, but mandatory and automatic, as you sometimes miss out on proper video drivers and those for basic system services which affect many other systems.
Notice that some of those updates were released in 2016, 2017 or 2018 which means they are not new. Only install them if you a problem. I too have not installed the drivers listed under optional updates as my PC works fine

The only thing I would add is if I am having problems with some piece of hardware that I need a driver for, but for whatever reason, I am unable to obtain it from the manufacturer; such as they went out of business or they no longer provide driver updates. Then I may consider using a driver update provided by Microsoft. :)
I had some devices in device manager w/warning badges on a new install until I installed the optional intel drivers in windows update... for what it's worth
I bought a PC today and I installed optional updates, then I got blue screen of death damn it's really sad. im gonna bring it back to the shop to get fixed tomorrow :(

Hey dude if I install one of thoughs drivers does it fix something because i have laptop that has a i5 10210u and when I was playing games there Is an fps drop than before when I was playing a game my game runned on 80 to 120 fps now it's just 40 to 60 fps
i have a problem and its when im playing a game i notice some missing 1 second frames and then my screen goes off saying no signal while my pc is still on, help

Hello , i have problem with my ace swift 3 , amd ryzen 5 5500u edition, sometimes my mouse pad the tap is not working i cant click any in my screen but i can move it , i always doing a restart then it fixed , my question is what driver should i install to permanently fix it?
my pc is a lil slow and my game stutters lags so often and sometimes crashes and i have 3 optional drivers but i dont know if i should download and install because i dont know which problem is it
agree my pc fps and resolution ruined after installing this shits.. I wasted money in computer repair shop they fix it by resetting all and installing windows .... so yes don't install unless needed stay away if your driver works well ... just sharing
The only driver that force installs is the Intel display driver. The rest appear in optional. It's annoying to see all the time and even hiding them won't remove them permanently from Windows Update. One such annoying driver that pops up all the time is for the USB BD-R drive that I have. I that installs, you lose access to the BD-R, so I don't understand why it needs to be in Windows Update,

I can't even believe, with my 12 year old pc. It seems to still, be just fine!! It's made a believer out of me. When it comes to 'HP' computer's.

Also why some of these drivers are shown more than once? On my PC the Intel System 10/3/2016 is shown thrice.

What about not opening gaming like needing graphic update but windows says up to date but when opening warzone 2 need a update
