Thanks for the heads up on the SkinStore Elta MD sale! I have used Elta MD products for years. Started with the UV clear, which I still love, but my hands down favorite is the UV Physical, SPF 41. The tint is perfect, it’s lightweight, absorbs to a non-greasy finish. I wear it everyday in place of tinted moisturizer (I hate foundation). It gives light coverage and evens out my skin tone. I use it as a concealer under my eyes as well. All mineral, no reaction. Perfection.

UV Elements is the first sunscreen I’ve ever really worn that I could wear everyday without it irritating my skin and was something I looked forward to using !

I love UV Clear in warmer months, but in winter, the UV Physical tinted is wonderful on my older, sun damaged skin. When I compared the price of UV Physical per ounce to another favorite brand of mine, The EltaMD UV Physical was actually quite a bit less expensive per ounce.

It's a great sunscreen and price point is also matches my needs but tint is way off for my olive skin tone.

  • @juliegoerke721

Thank you, Dr. Locke for your thorough review! I own and have used almost all of the Elta sunscreens mentioned. I’m a Fitzpatrick 2 and have normal to dry skin with rosacea. For untinted, my favorite would be the UV Daily and for tinted, I haven’t found the perfect Elta formula that I can wear alone. I really like the formula of UV Elements; however, the tint is too dark and yellow for me. To counter that, I purchased (last year), the UV Replenish untinted which is almost the same formula without the tint. Rather than mixing, I put down a layer of the Replenish, rub in well, let it dry down, then put on a smaller amount of the Elements to get the perfect tint for me. Unfortunately, the UV Replenish has been discontinued, but the UV Restore untinted would probably work well. I also use the untinted on my neck and chest. I find that some of Elta’s formulas stay tacky on my skin, so I have to powder over them. I’m not a big fan of foundation over mineral sunscreen as it tends to look thick and cakey, so I use the sunscreen as my foundation. Recently, my dermatologist gave me a sample of the Revision TruPhysical SPF 45 and it is perfect in color and formula! It also dries down nicely without a thick, tacky feeling. The downside is that it’s expensive, but it has a lot of skincare ingredients including THD Ascorbate which is great for sensitive skin and it is taking the place of my foundation. Revision is a medical grade skincare brand and can be found online often at a discount.

I like the differen sunscreen. It does not clog pores and it’s not oily or sticky. Absorbs into your skin like a regular moist. Just avoid near the eyes bc it burns your eyes if it gets in them in the slightest way

@@PrettyOrients I only know the Mychelle sunscreen (this actually dried out my oily skin) and the Dr. G Green Mild up Sunscreen (this has a tendency to pill). I've had a little luck with the Paula's Choice Super light daily wrinkle defense, but my face still needs blotting after a few hours. I'm trying one that Abbey Yung recommended in her recent sunscreen video that is a gel formulation next. I live in Houston and it's super humid and I am oily so it's a challenge for me.
