Ker Kare just added to the list! I heard great things about it! I was daunted by price at first but it’s double the size of the $30 ones so it actually comes out okay. Thanks for the suggestion!
Dr. Daniel Sugai thank you very much. I just bought some and it glides on skin with a slight cast but quickly becomes transparent. I have a brown skin and so far it works well. It doesn’t feel heavy on my skin. I clean my face at night with Dermatologica Oil cleaners or Ordinary Squalane cleaner to remove SPF. Then follow it up with Cerave Foam cleaner
Good to know different options for different skin types as well as monitoring the chemicals for any adverse effects. Thank you for sharing and have a nice day Doc! I give you a 10/10!👍🏼Aloha!
I love Elta MD sunscreen! I was using the Supergoop tinted mineral sunscreen for a while and was generally happy with it but my dermatologist recommended Elta MD sunscreen for my dry-leaning skin. I used the sample he gave me and absolutely loved it! For me, it’s not sticky, and layers so well under makeup, and I find that it’s way easier to actually use enough compared to the Supergoop one. Great review, I might consider giving this specific one a try!
Julia R I love how you mentioned that it is easier to use enough of compared to Supergoop as I agree with that so much. Such a great observation. Lmk what you think of this one when you try it! Take care and thank you SO much for supporting the channel 🙏🏼🤙🙏🏼
Dr. Daniel Sugai - I would be super interested to hear you expand on your thoughts about fragrance in skincare. It’s kind of a hot-button issue online right now especially with Fenty Beauty releasing a skincare line where I think all the products have fragrance. Personally, I find that it’s easy enough to avoid products with fragrance in it, and since it’s a potential irritant I stay away as much as I can (except for hair products, I can’t resist fruity shampoo haha). Do you think fragrance makes a product automatically bad? And what are your thoughts on the big fragrance debates happening online? A lot of people get upset and accuse dermatologists of fear-mongering when it comes to fragrance. I think it could be a very interesting video topic :)
Julia R wow- this would make an amazing video as it is trending like you said. I will read about this and come prepared with a bulletproof argument (as much as possible 😀). Thank you for the suggestion!

I just bought this after your recommendation :) i have been using the Anessa whitening uv sunscreen as it contains tranexamic acid for battling hyperpigmentation. However, i heard from another youtuber that active ingredients do not do much in the form of sunscreens as it is formulated to leave a film on your skin as opposed to being absorbed to do anything at all. What are your views on the ingredient and its efficacy in a sunscreen formula? Thank you

Great review! I’m very interested in purchasing this but I wonder how this will work with dehydrated oily skin types? And I would go with your face for the rating scale 😂
I have a question about the octinoxate. I know it is a known endocrine disrupter. Is it typically safe to use for someone like me who has had thyroid cancer? I did ask my endocrinologist and she felt it should be fine, especially since I do not have a thyroid anymore, but would look into it further. She recently messaged me to tell me she couldn’t find anything definitive. My dermatologist also felt it should be okay since we don’t use a tremendous amount on the face. Just wondering your opinion for a person with thyroid cancer, thyroid has been removed.
Thanks for the honest review of Octinoxate….I also have the same concern but because I have Melasma this suncreen is good for me. What is your opinion of OM4 Male Sun Protect?
Ulysses Payne thank you my friend for watching! Tbh, I have never heard of this one. After reading about it, it has really neat ingredients and like that it’s mineral based. I am curious to hear how it blends in (any white cast?) and would need to look at those ingredients more closely and see if there is any evidence behind them. It sounds impressive though. May make a good video. Thanks for the suggestion and take care 🤙🙏🏼
Can I use this in the am without using a moisturizer before? I have combo skin and i feel like using this on top of a moisturizer will be too heavy, but will using only this be moisturizing enough?
Does anyone know why it seems to be sold out very easily on Amazon? Is this a pandemic money grab? I honestly had a hard time finding an authentic version online in Canada. I just got some from a doctors office and it was much pricier but I need it! I am very fair etc. This did not disappoint me. It stayed on the face and smells different than others I have used.
Is Niacinamide bad for the skin to keep reapplying this sunscreen during the day? Is there a risk of getting too Niacinamide that could cause breakouts?
is it bad that it has lactic acid? I heard that you shouldn't use AHA's in the daytime... Also, since this has AHA in it, is it okay to still use glycolic acid in the nighttime?
Hi doc. Thanks for sharing this video. I really like to try the product too but i scared to use it since I have tiny bumps all over my face whenever i use physical sunscreen. And it is also sometimes feel itchy.
Hi 👋🏼 Sometimes but very rarely I get a light perioral dermatitis around my mouth. Otherwise I have very normal/combination skin. Would you recommend me the UV Clear or UV Daily for daily use? :)
Hello- because it has a chemical ingredient (octinoxate) I would probably stick with purely mineral based sunscreens instead where it only has zinc or titanium in the active ingredient list. Take care and thanks for watching! 🙏🏼🤙
Thank you Dr Sugai for your great review on this product! I would love to watch a video if you could help us compare Cerave VS Cetaphil lotions. Thank you

This contains lactic acid which I’ve seen online could potentially harm the skin in the long run and I worry that any acid may make the presence of my facial spider veins worse. Is lactic acid in a sunscreen safe for facial veins/broken capillaries ? Thanks very much
hi!! sorry this might not be relevant to this video but I really needed some professional opinion before trying this out! Do you think 10% urea is too high for the face? specifically Hamilton Urederm cream 10%. I'm afraid it is going to burn my skin instead of repairing my moisture barrier :"( tysm in advance!
Thanks so much Esther for watching! Good question. The percentage of zinc is difficult to interpret and compare to other percentages of zinc because the formulations of zinc differ so much (nano, micronized). Zinc oxide itself is a great uva and uvb filter and regardless of the percentage and spf, I still recommend reapplication of it every 2hrs. Take care!
I heard this product can be drying for dry acne prone skin.. is this true? I’m really struggling to find a sunscreen that is not drying and doesn’t break me out :(
Try fixing your skin barrier first. I have acne/rosacea. This does not break me out or cause any rosacea flair ups. I like this product. It does however have a slight white cast.

Thanks for your honest review! I have been using elta Md clear for years now and I absolutely love it but I have been hearing of a better or equally as good sunscreen called DRMTlGY Anti aging tinted moisturizer with SPF 46 (although it says tinted but watching the reviews and demos of it it looks sheer just like the elta md clear). What do u think of the ingredients of it. I would highly apreciate it if you would look into it and make a review on it. Thank u so much! I already subscribed to your chanel after watching this video.👍👍
Thank you so much for watching, my new friend and yes- I have a video of it (released just two weeks ago)! Hope you like that video and find it helpful. Take care and happy Halloween 🙏🏼🤙
We are on the same page, my friend. Wish it was only zinc based but the octinoxate serves a role in making it more lightweight and blends in well (as I’m told by EltaMD). Their uv replenish and elements are mineral only but I should do a comparison video against UV clear. That will be a cool video I think. 🤙👍🙏🏼
Is this a moisturizer and sun screen in one? I prefer to have a separate moisturizer and sunscreen. So could i use this eltamd product and another moisturizer ?
Aurora Peterson good question! I agree and think a moisturizer is still necessary for certain skin types and this one is not very moisturizing. I would consider using a moisturizer and then this on top of it. Take care and thanks so much for watching!! 🙏🏼🤙🙏🏼
@@danielsugaimd thank you. I have eczema and SUPER SENSITIVE skin. My dermatologist recommended i use the elta md uv daily spf40 one which is a sunscreen and moisturizer in one. Is that more of a suncreen or a moistuzer? Sorry im just super over nothing working for my skin
Aurora Peterson I like UV daily as it has moisturizing ingredients but with your skin type and h/o eczema, I would definitely use a moisturizer as well. Take care 🙏🏼
I'm a 28 year old Male with light brown skin my skin is sensitive oily and I break out with the odd pimple sometimes. I was wondering which one you recommend I should buy the tinted or non tinted ?
Kul P I would say the tinted would blend in nicely and I agree- this sunscreen sounds like it would be good for you given that you have sensitive, acne prone skin. Lmk what you think and thanks for watching 🤙🙏🏼
@@danielsugaimd thank you! Also I have a question regarding hyperpigmentation, how long does it take to fade the discoloration while using tretinoin gel microsphere 0.1% ?
Those 'skin types' make no sense. I have green eyes and my skin can get somewhat pale. But with incremental sun exposure I can get very dark without burning. You don't need to 'burn first' before tanning, if you burn you're less likely to tan because that skin has to shed first.
Megha this is actually in my shopping cart on stylevana as we speak! I may bump this one up on the list of sunscreen since this brand is getting crazy attention right now like you said! Thank you for the suggestion! 🤙🤙🙏🏼🙏🏼
Nice video Doc. My problem is that I’m allergic to typical sunscreens. To avoid breaking out with rashes I have been using chemical free products. Do you have any favorite products that you would suggest for me? I have been using Neutrogena sensitive skin 60+ but still brown after a round of golf. Thanks again for your help.
seekidea thank you so much for watching and for supporting my channel since the beginning! For sensitive skin with sunscreens, agree that you should stay away from chemical based ingredients and just do zinc or titanium based sunscreen. Try vanicream spf or EltaMD uv active. Let me know how it goes! Take care 🙏🏼🤙
Hi dr . can i know is it have matte finish bcoz my skin cannot with matte finish sunsc .. N is it good for dry n sensitive skin . btw i hv rosacea . prone to get redness
Although I love this sunscreen I notice it balls on my face so I don’t know if it’s the combination of other moisturizers and primers that combined make it ball but I still love it.
Kathy Casares thanks for sharing. Totally believe this may be a real thing despite the sunscreen being so lightweight as others who are makeup users have mentioned this. I asked them if they made sure they bought from a reputable source since I heard there are counterfeit EltaMD products online 🤷🏻♂️. I’ll keep an eye out for this and see if there are any good alternatives. Have you tried Supergoops mattescreen as a sunscreen and primer for makeup? Thanks for watching!!
Kathy Casares I’m going to do a review on Cotz sunscreen soon as I heard that is a nice cheaper alternative to EltaMD. Stay tuned for that and pls lmk if you tried that one. Curious to hear your thoughts on that one. Take care 🤙
Ian Mendoza will add that to the list. Retinoid creams are great with tons of benefits. I should do another video on topical retinoids. Thanks for watching and take care! 🤙🙏🏼
@@danielsugaimd thanks so much for the reply , I love your channel , I watched the supergoop review too , do you think if I used the supergoop matte , and the ordinary niacinamide serum would be ok? or do you still reccomen this one above the other? again thank you !
Mariela Matamoros thank you so much for saying that! I think the Supergoop and TO’s niacinamide would be a great combo especially if you want purely mineral based ingredients (Eltamd UV clear has octinoxate which is a chemical ingredient). But this combo is not for everyone as I have seen a few patients who are getting rashes to TOs niacinamide serum. Thanks so much for watching and for supporting the channel!! 🙏🏼🤙❤️
Mark Leocadio if you use it once a day (not reapplying like you should), every day and the appropriate amount to cover only your face and neck, probably would last 3-4 weeks.

The octinoxate in this product is very bizarre. Whyyyy??? So frustrating. I wish this was zinc only. Do they make a similar product without the oct.?
We are on the same page, my friend. Wish it was only zinc based but the octinoxate serves a role in making it more lightweight and blends in well (as I’m told by EltaMD). Their uv replenish and elements are mineral only but I should do a comparison video against UV clear. That will be a cool video I think. 🤙👍🙏🏼
@@danielsugaimd please do
Is this a moisturizer and sun screen in one?
@@danielsugaimd thank you
Aurora Peterson no problem. Have a great weekend 🤙
Lmk what you think and thanks for watching 🤙🙏🏼
i wanted to know about their cleanser but this is good too haha 😍💕
Nice- thanks for watching! I can def do video on their cleanser too 👍🤙
How much should you apply before going outside?
Hey doctor, if this can be sold at your office , can we use our HSA or FSA?
Leo L I’ll have to check with my staff on this. Don’t want to give bad info on this. Thanks for watching. 🤙🙏🏼
Have you tried Heliocare sunscreen? Perhaps you can do comparation on both sunscreens
Hi dr! Do you think this sunscreen would help with my hyperpigmentation that was left after my cystic acne?
mia chiara yes! Especially consider the tinted to also block visible/blue light as well. Thx for watching 🙏🏼🤙
What elta md sunscreen would u recommend for combination oily/dry/normal skin.
Heard that it’s good for dry skin
would love to know your thoughts on Krave Beauty Beet Shield sunscreen! it's huge right Now! thank You
Megha this is actually in my shopping cart on stylevana as we speak! I may bump this one up on the list of sunscreen since this brand is getting crazy attention right now like you said! Thank you for the suggestion! 🤙🤙🙏🏼🙏🏼
Great video I like using this sunscreen a lot
Sarah Doan good to hear! Such a solid sunscreen. Appreciate the comment and take care! 🤙🤙🙏🏼🙏🏼
What sunscreen would you recommend for rosacea that is more affordable ?
William Luu this one is actually perfect for rosacea. Or DRMTLGY spf 46 is another niacinamide containing option.
I love that sunscreen!! Great review! :)
Lauren Sugai yes!! Good to hear! Thx for watching 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Can I use this as a moisturizer too ? I have oily acne prone skin.
This does have zinc oxide so does that make it sufficiently water resistant?
Can you recommend a lip balm with sunscreen?
Would love to know your opinion on the colorscience sunscreen called SUNFORGETTABLE® TOTAL PROTECTION™ FACE SHIELD SPF 50!
Lauren DeVera great- will look into this one! Thx for the suggestion and thx so much for watching! Take care 🤙
There is nothing better than this spf!
Holy grail sunscreen!!🙌🙌🙌
feel like he is being sponsored for this product?
Walgreens Sensitive Skin and CVS Clear Zinc are good $3-$7 dupes for this FYI
I order mine online being in Australia how do we know it’s the real one
Hi dr . can i know is it have matte finish bcoz my skin cannot with matte finish sunsc .. N is it good for dry n sensitive skin . btw i hv rosacea . prone to get redness
This has lactic acid as well. 😍
is this good for sensitive skin?
Is this good for oily skin?
Hie Dr. I need sunscreen which can not burn my eyes can you help me please
@@danielsugaimd Yes I bought it from my derm. and I dont want to let it goooo. Thanks for the tips!!
Kathy Casares I’m going to do a review on Cotz sunscreen soon as I heard that is a nice cheaper alternative to EltaMD. Stay tuned for that and pls lmk if you tried that one. Curious to hear your thoughts on that one. Take care 🤙
What is that number 46,48, 30..??
My Way spf 46. SPF stands for Sun protection factor. You want to get sunscreen that is SPF 30 at least.
Can you review and discuss ReFissa? Thanks!
Ian Mendoza will add that to the list. Retinoid creams are great with tons of benefits. I should do another video on topical retinoids. Thanks for watching and take care! 🤙🙏🏼
This makes me skin look brown for some reason. Even the clear. 😢
5/5 Daniels!
That Nam Tran Ton thank you so much for watching and appreciate the support! 🤙🙏🏼
I am acne prone skin, it's okay for me?
Bclicious My it is excellent for acne prone skin! Niacinamide for the win. Thx for watching 🤙
@@danielsugaimd you're welcome, salam from indonesia
is this good for combination skin?
Mariela Matamoros yes, this is excellent for combo skin! Helps with oily areas of face to battle/prevent acne. Thanks so much for watching 🤙🙏🏼🤙
How long does 1.7oz lasts if you used it daily?
Mark Leocadio if you use it once a day (not reapplying like you should), every day and the appropriate amount to cover only your face and neck, probably would last 3-4 weeks.
