EltaMD saved my skin. I had a horrible experience with burns and blisters all over my skin, especially my face and eyelids and couldn’t figure out what was going on before finally being diagnosed with an isothiazolinone allergy. EltaMD was the only sunscreen I was able to use for many months until I finally healed my skin. That dang isothiazolinone preservative was in EVERYTHING! My sunscreen, shampoo, laundry detergent, body wash and lotion. I’m so glad when I see you warn people about it in your videos.
I have been using Certain-Dri for more than 30 years. I could be their biggest fan! As a teen, I sweated profusely and was always embarrassed by sweaty armpits -- nothing worked for me. Somehow I found Certain-Dri as an adult and used it according to instructions. Soon, I could skip days, and now I use it maybe twice a week and am never worried about embarrassing sweat rings or ruining my clothing. In hot weather I still sweat everywhere else, but not under my arms. Highly recommend!
My Dermatologist recommended EltaMD Clear to help with my rosacea. No more flareups now! I am more on the oily side so it is not so matte on me. Thank YOU for your videos ❤️🙏❤️
I've heard so many good things about EltaMd from people in your comments. As much as I'd like to try it, it's too pricey for me. Elf Whoa Glow is working well for me at the moment so I'll continue to use that. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on the products you've been using. Thanks, Dr Dray! I hope you, your sweet momma and little Tybee have a fun weekend! 💜
Κ beauty skincare really don't disappoint at all they even use ingredients that are not so hyped up like melatonin ❤. Thanks Doctor Andrea for showing us the products you used 😊 please you too stay safe in order for us to see more educational videos and fascinating Vlogs created by the one and only Dr.Dray 😊❤.
Thanks Doc. I’m so confused about what I should be looking for in a serum as a post menopausal woman. If you can do a serum down and dirty both Korean and US skin care video, that’d be great.
TY Dr Dray for highlighting the importance of tinted SPF for hyperpigmentation! Since I have deeper skin tone, I’ll check out the Elta MD one (since I’m a SPF junkie lol) 🙋🏽♀️
My 64th birthday was this month. She bought me the regular one because I refused to wear sunscreen because I can’t stand the feel. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT 😍. I will also try the tinted.
Been looking for a tinted sunscreen and I did like Elta MD but the untinted gave me a pale cast after reapplying I'm excited about this one especially because the tint actually seems sheer natural and not with a grey undertone. It's such a relief to find more sunscreens that work with more melanated skin.
I’m in Sugar Land, but was dog sitting for my daughter out in Richmond. She(I) lost power in Tuesday’s storm. It went out at 2pm, I went to go babysit one of my granddaughters at my son’s house back in SL, and he had power and there was power at my house. I didn’t get back to my daughter’s until 11pm and it was still out. It FINALLY came back on at midnight, which was good cause I was ready to abandon ship for the night! We all live within a span of 7-8 miles apart. We’ve had a lot of rain and ridiculous winds- may as well be named tropical storms. I can’t complain too much though since I lost two established crepe myrtles after two years of heat and drought🤷♀️
Hi Dr. Dray! I used to wear Elta spf exclusively. They were and still are great products but I agree with you that there are so many other great options!❤❤❤
I really liked the Elta MD tinted sunscreen. It was not matte but not too greasy or excessively shiny. I recently put a few pumps in a small travel container and it etched/scratched up the inside of the container 😬. I've been a little skeptical to use it on my skin ever since
Another tubing mascara recommended by another creator was wowcombo my amazing lashes. She says she just splashes her lashes with water to take her tubing mascaras off.
I used UV Elements for years and loved it so when I saw that the AOX Elements was their updated formula, I purchased. It left my skin so, so irritated and uncomfortable. I did reach out to the company and got a refund. I gave it to a friend and it’s been working well for her. Really disappointed for myself, though 😕

Yay please do a video on Clinique there a massive brand that doesn’t get any attention but I really think a lot of there products are really good please do a video on there moister surge line as well as cleansers they have a redness solutions line so yea please do a brand review of Clinique even if you end up roasting them lol that’s what we come here for honesty lol thank you for your hard work Dr Dray
Hi Dr. Dray! I was wondering if you could do a video on skincare when you are sick! Should you avoid certain products ie. retinols or recommendations for irritated skin from blowing your nose. Thank you :) I love your videos
I used UV Elements tinted for 5 years, but had to switch to UV Physical. The UV Elements became too greasy and made me look orange 😭. So far, UV Physical tinted is doing a great job. It makes my oily skin look matte.
i finally finished my vanicream antiperspirant around the time they discontinued it, and tried to look for good alternatives that were fragrance free. I'm really glad you recommended the certaindri brand and I was quite skeptical about the roller, since I find most roll-on deodarants usually don't glide well at all, but I did recently buy it and it rolls on super well! my only complaint though, THE ITCH. I've never had something itch my underarm area so bad before. i had to use hydrocortisone cream to calm it down, but I find that even after trying to get over the itch and using this product every night for about 2 weeks already, I cant stand the itching, the redness, and the little bumps that are appearing on my underarms. it blocks sweat really well, I'll give it that, but I keep having to itch my underarms at night which is causing me to not get enough sleep as I usually do. does anyone else have good antiperspirant recommendations that DONT itch, very similar to the discontinued vanicream antiperspirant, fragrance free and affordable? if so please give me your recommendations! 🙏 if not, ill follow dr. dray's tip and try using it 2-3x per week instead! xx
Ack quit using it!!! Shouldn’t itch like that. Have you tried the Almay gel? I’ve also done fine with Sure Unscented (it’s not fragrance free, it has masking fragrance) but somehow that’s never bothered me and I have very reactive skin.

Hello Dr. Dray, Hope you'll review Eucerin's NEW tinted 50 SPF Age Defense. Two days in and I'm impressed. Would appreciate hearing your thoughts. Thanks in advance!
Hi! I’m getting ready to repurchase Elta MD Clear but seeing a lot of talk online from longtime devotees about the reformulation of many beloved Elta MD SPFs… do you mind speaking on this sometime soon? People are saying that the sunscreens feel different (i.e. greasier), pill more, cause breakouts/irritation, and a whole host of other issues that they never experienced in the past, so now I’m nervous to repurchase! I stopped using Elta MD. They make a great product but I have very oily skin and they leave a shine on my face. Not sure if these do but the UV Clear tinted is not matte
I’m really disappointed because I’ve been using EltaMD UV Elements for years for my eczema and rosacea- prone skin and it’s been wonderful BUT they just changed their formula and it absolutely does not agree with me. It irritates my face and leaves it red, patchy, dry, and tight. I’ve read on some forums that others have had similar reactions. Any thoughts, Dr. Dray? Thank you!
I loved the Milani tubing mascara that you mentioned many months ago. Recently I bought the Tartelette, recommended by the salesperson when my local Ulta store was out of stock of Milani. The Tartelette is too fibrous & quick drying for me. My lashes go off at weird angles! They don't look normal. I try smoothing them with a disposable lash brush but often they're too dry.
Uv clear controls oil beautifully but you still have to powder after it sets to get rid of the shiny finish. It's not matte. Its my go to for summer time I've been using it for yrs. I have oily skin.
Used to use ELTA MD clear. Unfortunately it has gotten to expensive for me. Plus the bottle is smaller. Been using DRMTLGY SPF 45. Not same as ELTA, but similar.
Oh, I tried the regular tinted one a couple years ago, and I could not not use it, it was far too dark for me. Imgine the new deep shade then 😅 I wish they had a shade for fair skin too!
Too expensive for me. Sun Bum has a new one that is half the price & same fluid oz. Sun Bum Daily Gel, Broad Spectrum SPF 50, Water Resistant (80 Minutes). I'm liking it a lot.
I was wondering why I couldn’t find vanicream antiperspirant anymore, that is disappointing they are discontinuing good products. The more they discontinue products the less I need to look to them for certain things which I don’t like because I love them as a brand. If they came out with a very light weight moisturizer for summer for the body I’d get it.
The poly glutaminc acid is lower in the ingredient label on the serum than the sleeping pack for the Skin1004 product. I wonder if that makes a difference?
I’m started to wonder, when it comes to the L’Oréal sunscreen, if the formulation changes from one country to another. Because on me and my friends it dries really, really matte and there’s no shine whatsoever
Am I crazy? I tried the UV clear and it made me look soooo shiny. Dr. Dray's face does not look matte either. Any suggestions of actually matte spf that's safe for acne prone skin?
Paula's Choice has a few, too. Their Resist Super Light Wrinkle Defense is a mineral one that really does dry down matte with a neutral/cool tint, and the two good organic ones are the Skin Balancing Ultra-Sheer and the Clear Ultra-Light.
I like the Colorescience Flex...it's tinted and gives a lot of coverage but it's not shiny. It's one of the only sunscreens I've tried that does not cause breakouts.
@@Kattaz0309 Question. If you apply powder over sunscreen, do you remove it before reapplying sunscreen later, or just kinda blend it all in? I have to reapply sunscreen because part of my work is outdoors. I'm afraid to powder it and reslather sunscreen on later and end up looking as textured as a Van Gogh painting.
I am having the worst time finding a sunscreen that I am not allergic to. This is the first time this has happened. I used to be able to wear anything with no trouble. Now if I even hug someone with sunscreen on, within an hour my face swells up and is stupid itchy. I have tried Cerave, Nutragena. My next try is going to be Blue Lizard. If you have any suggestions please pass them on.
I have a question for you...I've been using cetaphil min sunscreen- really good, but thought I'd try Elta md tinted sunscreen- burns my eyes 😢ingredients don't show niacinamide (which burns my eyes) what's in elta md 50 tinted that's making my eyes burn 😢
I wish there was more consideration for men when jt comes to sunscreens in the US. As a black man, tinted sunscreens are impossible to wear because it looks like makeup on the skin. There's nothing wrong with men wearing makeup, but not every man wants to look like he's wearing a full face of foundation. I also have a beatd, which makes tinted sunscreen even more of a hassle. And before anyone recommends chemical sunscreen, blue light protection is mandatory for me (and it should be for anyone with a deeper skin tone). The only chemical sunscreen with blue light protection is from Avene, but not sold in the US.
Ask Mo (@ moskinlab). Mo is a toxicologist and safety assessor specialising in cosmetics and sunscreens. Check out his TH-cam videos. He looks at and answers all comments. He has a darker skin tone and also has a beard. He is a great guy too. I have been following him from the beginning of his channel. 👱🏻♀️♥️
I might check Dr. Corey Hartman, a black male derm. He's on social media and he turns up on other creator videos sometimes like The Style and Beauty Doctor and beauty articles.
I’m just trying to find my right sunscreen for my face. I’m dry sensitive can’t use vitamin c and one that doesn’t sting my eyes throughout the day. Also that looks good under makeup and won’t pill. Please if anyone has suggestions let me know 🫶🏻
The ultamd one you’re wearing looks so oily like your skin is slathered in grease. Not for my liking in anyway. But I still appreciate your videos. Always educational! Thx.
They’re actually great for people who are in menopause, like me. My skin is dry. So it’s nice. It hasn’t always been dry…🫠 I see what you’re saying though.
Dumb question but could you use face sunscreen on your arms? I’m very fair skinned with KP and sensitive skin and someone gave me this sunscreen but I already had the Clinique spf 50 for my face so I was just wondering..
Try Cotz for Lighter Skin. It's pure white so you may need to mix it with a little bit of Cotz tinted. I'm the palest of the pale and that's what I do. Bonus is it doubles as primer.
Paula’s Choice has a lighter, beige toned SPF 30 mineral sunscreen-Super Light Daily Wrinkle Defense. I mix it with some of her mineral SPF 30 moisturizer to lighten it further and for more moisture. I have the rosacea type that’s mostly flushing and it’s not irritating. Plus, it washes off easily for a mineral type, too. I really like it. I prefer it over the Elta that has caused some flushing and pilling. Good luck with your quest!
It can take 5 to 15 years and hundreds of millions of dollars to get a drug approved in the United States. Sunscreen chemical filters are drugs in this country. Nobody wants to pay The upfront cost to get these filters approved.
The FDA regulates sunscreen ingredients and considers them drugs. You can petition all you want, it won’t change anything. The FDA hasn’t addressed alternative sunscreen ingredients in over 40 years.

I might check Dr. Corey Hartman, a black male derm. He's on social media and he turns up on other creator videos sometimes like The Style and Beauty Doctor and beauty articles.
Didn’t they have a clear version too, so you don’t have to get a tinted version? Tinted version is generally made for more of darker skins
I’m just trying to find my right sunscreen for my face. I’m dry sensitive can’t use vitamin c and one that doesn’t sting my eyes throughout the day. Also that looks good under makeup and won’t pill. Please if anyone has suggestions let me know 🫶🏻
Thank you for the great information! Have a great weekend!❤️
Did you ever review the new tinted eurcerin sunscreen?
Different from the one she reviewed about a year ago?
Friday at last! 💜💜💜
Happy Friday!
How to deal with Dry skin with acne

@@DrDrayzday thank you!
I had a large age spot freckle on my check. I dabbed Crest toothpaste on it impulsively, left it on all-night, woke up freckle gone!
The ultamd one you’re wearing looks so oily like your skin is slathered in grease. Not for my liking in anyway.
But I still appreciate your videos. Always educational! Thx.
They’re actually great for people who are in menopause, like me. My skin is dry. So it’s nice. It hasn’t always been dry…🫠
I see what you’re saying though.
@@DyanCovington fellow menopause gal here with dry skin too!
I just seriously don’t like the greasy look.
Makes plenty of sense!
I used to love using the UV clear so much until I developed a pretty bad allergy to one of the preservatives in it. 😭
Dumb question but could you use face sunscreen on your arms? I’m very fair skinned with KP and sensitive skin and someone gave me this sunscreen but I already had the Clinique spf 50 for my face so I was just wondering..
100%. It’s the other direction that isn’t always the best just for comfort.
I love that they are becoming more inclusive! Now if they could just offer a shade for light skin. There are more skin tones than "deep" and orangey!
What is on your face?
i just got the uv clear and it pills sooo bad 😭
do you use it on bare skin, or over something?
@@DrDrayzdayonly over moisturizer
I like that on you, but it sure doesn't look matte. I don't like matte but it looks great on you
Why is it Americans only have two options for sunscreen? Zinc or chemicals that burn -do I need to petition the FDA to allow alternatives?
It can take 5 to 15 years and hundreds of millions of dollars to get a drug approved in the United States. Sunscreen chemical filters are drugs in this country. Nobody wants to pay The upfront cost to get these filters approved.
The FDA regulates sunscreen ingredients and considers them drugs. You can petition all you want, it won’t change anything. The FDA hasn’t addressed alternative sunscreen ingredients in over 40 years.
I have the uv daily,,, LOVE IT❤❤❤❤,,, i hate the shiny look ,, i am already a latin greasy mess😅😅😅
Same. Try uv clear it does control oil, and it's less shiny.
❤❤❤
Hate HA is in most everything...
I do love hybrid sunscreens, but EltaMD-nope! There’s plenty of drugstore sunscreens that are terrific for less $.
I do not like that deodorant I'll give it a 3 I use it when I go to the gym and at my home it makes you sweat
EltaMD, like so many other sunscreen products is ridiculously overpriced for the amount that you get. It’s just plain silly and I can’t afford it.
I hate the peel
No thx
Please don't cancel dr dray...
