    100000% correct , lighting is incredibly important and setup, and the fx30 is hella capable! But also , high key I love my fx6, thanks so much for having me on 🙌🏾 New Toronto boys represent

      After getting used to the ergonomics of the FX6 it makes me not want to go back to a smaller FX3 sized camera. But if I had never used the FX6 perhaps it would make no difference to me

    I have an A7Siii. Love it. It does a lot of heavy lifting for me as I grow into the camera. If I was ever in a position to get another camera, I'd probably go for the Fx-30 instead of going up to an Fx-6.
    But I think my next big purchase is some high quality lights for my office/studio because I'm starting to notice some flicker on the more inexpensive RGB bulbs.

    • @VictorLaforteza

    I really was loving Camera B and thought that was the FX6 until the Skipping rope shot.
    I think It must be that Super 35 just looks more natural to the eye and what I'm used to seeing in films.
    Can't go wrong with either, they booth look fantastic.

    I definitely want to get the FX6 but the cost is going to be a hard thing to pay for. I have a Fujifilm XT4. I totally agree with working with the camera you have and doing good lighting. I guess I'll start saving.

    of course the fx6 is a lot more versatile than the fx30, but I do like the way the fx30 is small and easier to just film with. im sure your fx30 video in korea wouldve been alot harder with a big camera like the fx6. thats coming from me as ive just been filming casually with an a7iv, no professional work yet. obviously yeah no one is gonna bring an fx6 to make a travel video but its interesting to see the fx30 still holds up good in a professional setting. great vid once again👍

  • @Victor-Rojas
    @Victor-Rojas ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm definitely enjoying my FX30 but would love to have an FX6. I will say though that I've never had a client bring up my camera. In fact, before the FX 30, I was shooting on a blackmagic pocket 4K for 2 years and never had any questions about that either. I do think that the main advantage to something like an FX6, besides the fact that it's full frame, is the ergonomics. It's made specifically for shooting video. I know the FX30 is as well, but I think the strengths of the FX30 lie in the fact that it can be easily thrown on a gimbal. And like Kofi mentioned, client perception can sometimes be a factor for getting hired on bigger jobs.

    • @VictorLaforteza
      @VictorLaforteza  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100%!! Yeah, I've had the same inquiries before they specifically were looking for fx6 or equivalent... for reels... odd but they had budget. Anyways yeah for sure, tools for the right jobs!!

    I thought for a moment the FX6 could do anything i want and need. But than, wait, my clients really often change what they want. And so I‘m much safer with a GH6. So i can shoot in 5.7 open gate and decide in the post, in which aspect ratios I do have to deliver the video. And the only thing I really miss is the internal ND. Cause with Olympus 1.2 lenses, the MFT almost looks like full frame.

  • @BanderaFilmsAndMusic

    Broooo, I was so sure cam B was the FX6, because -to me- skin tones looked better. The second time I watched the footage, though, I could tell cam B is a little weaker when it comes to black color areas. I don't think there's a huge difference, so I'm happy af I purchased the FX30 as my first camera ever, and videos like yours helped me making up my mind about it. 🤜🤛

    • @VictorLaforteza
      @VictorLaforteza  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      funny enough, I actually tweaked FX30 skin tones to match the FX6! The FX6 skin tones were right on spot from the get go but still holds true that grading, lighting, and other things aside from the camera will make your footage look better than just the camera itself! You can get super close to the quality of the FX6 if these things are worked on!!

    I got it right away, The FX30 has much less DOF (less bokeh) and the skin looks to have a noise reduction on it.. But very good if you need a crop sensor camera. I wish the the 2nd ISO range was at least 6400 and it might be a better deal for some lower light situations. Otherwise the 12.800 on the A7sIII or FX3 really makes a huge difference in lowlight.

    • @VictorLaforteza
      @VictorLaforteza  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I really think it's easy to spot especially when we're so used to what the differences are! Same I think 3200/6400 would be cool. they missed that opportunity or maybe they intentionally crippled it

    My thoughts:
    Fx6- For me, the Fx6 would seem to be a great entry point for creating spec work for short film / narrative projects. With having a lot of similarities towards some of the more professional cinema cameras available, I would definitely say that this could be great for exploring what it could be working on high budget sets.
    Fx30-
    Based off my knowledge and experience with the Sony A7iii, I would definitely use the Fx30 for absolutely dominating the content space. The price to performance ratio is absolutely insane. !!But I truly believe that in the aspect of “dominating”, your knowledge of the limitation of your camera is what truly makes the content look amazing.
    Conclusion: As of right now, I do not know all of the limitation of the Fx6 to really use it to its full capacity. On the other hand, knowing how the fx30 is limited, I can fully maximize its strengths while at the same time not feeling limited. (Still love the fx6 though)

  • @Bo_Hazem
    @Bo_Hazem ปีที่แล้ว

    To most, not so important if you're mostly filming people. I would rather get a7SIII/FX3 for wildlife due to the extremely fast sensor readout that could be nasty when slowing down from 4K@120fps for shaky birding, macro, etc. Both are great just understand your needs. FX6 is great and nearly the best for filming people or mostly in cities with no harsh weather, but a7SIII/FX3 would be much better for wildlife due to weather sealing and size. Considering FX30 or FX6 for weddings as a second camera, but already owning a7SIII it makes sense to jump to a1 or a7R V. FX6 internal e-ND's is just a gamechanger for on the move filming going out/indoor. Also a7SIII+FX3-30 are great for not drawing unnecessary attention when you keep the camera barebone.

  • @flochfitness

    The biggest thing you should be asking yourself before buying a camera (instead of how “good” the image looks) is “what am I going to use the camera for?” If you are run and gunning, don’t need high end audio with multiple inputs, will be posting your content to TH-cam (image becomes highly compressed) and need to take on and off a gimbal quickly, the fx30 is more than capable.
    If you are doing high end work that will be on television or less compressed media forms, need full frame look, and will need multiple audio inputs the fx3/fx6 is better for you. The biggest difference (as I see it) between the fx3 and fx6 is the built in audio and electronic variable ND. If your production calls for those things then go with the FX6. if not, then go with the fx3 and grab the audio handle and save yourself $2000 to $3000.
    Oh, and I forgot to mention, if you are using manual lenses, I wouldn’t go with any of these, I would go with the black magic pocket cinema cam (4K or 6k) as the image out of this camera is insane (especially if low light performance isn’t a dealbreaker for you.) take the extra money you save and invest in lighting or an assistant.
    Hope this helps!

    • @VictorLaforteza
      @VictorLaforteza  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think its straight forward
    if you earn a substantial amount doing big productions or desire to be at that level then go with the bigger camera as its kinda of future proofing your work for when you really need a built in ND timecode raw output etc etc
    if thats not your field you want to go in THEN FX6 WILL be a waste of money as the Fx3 and FX30 7Siii etc are still powerfull camera and it still comes down to your ability to frame, vision, colour grade, lighting an5 execute the project

    Lighting for dramatic purposes, big problem today with the ability of an electronic digital camera to record almost anything anywhere. Just crank up the ISO. So film schools today, just don't emphasize lighting like in the good old days when we shot with film-went to Cal Arts in the seventies. We had to think about lighting. Of course, then dramatic lighting was Uno Number One. Not today. Most of the expensive feature films today show the lack of serious lighting for dramatic purposes. 😎😎
