If you didn't watch the series and saw this machine for the first time you'd probably think it was all original paint. Just remembering all that this thing went through too... It's always nice to watch these series style restorations.
One of my favorite things that you show is when you get done and you have A-blast playing the pinball machine love it keep up the great work awesome Video
I don't wanna sound like a stuck record but you've done an awesome job. I don't actually think people realise how much time goes into bringing these machines to this level 👍
This has been such a fun week Ron. Thank you to to and Joe for keeping us all entertained this week and bringing this one back to life. Also, I have introduced one of my friends to My Brother Donnie. He said he's found his spirit animal.
Yours n Todd's are my favorite channels for this , I Love pinball, grew up playing alot of the games y'all have featured, so much more enjoyable then the online gaming of today
@@LyonsArcade The work you do on these is every bit as interesting and enjoyable to watch, restoring these and preserving them for future generations to enjoy is valuable in itself
This is a beautiful pinball table, and fun to play. I have a Future Pinball simulation version that I implemented the latest physics on, and I'm doing research on the sounds, trying to dial them in correctly.
Have always had an interest in pinball machines, and seeing you take this one from looking like a crap heap into a fully functional thing was awesome! That animation of the lights dropping like they were going down the drain when you lost the 5X hurt!
Yeah isn't that horrible? Somebody was mentioning that they remember back in the day it always took forever to countdown for the 5X, makes it even worse if it tilts, ha!
I had fun reading your score upside-down and backwards as you played. I'm also glad my wife didn't catch me and ask, "Why are you watching a guy in South Carolina play pinball?"
Loved the series, very enjoyable. Some ideas for other videos: How about a video on the background of the most commonly failed spider chip and what it exactly does. I know it would be fairly technical, but I would like to know what the most commonly failed spider chip does and its basic chip architecture. Trivia like why that spider pin architecture never took off, or any other trivia on the chip. How about a video of the shop itself, going through the various sections of the shop and product catagories. What sells, what does not, etc. Just would like to get a view of the shop. How about a video of your storage area. You mentioned you have strorage area where you have many many games in bad shape. It might give away some of your future projects, but maybe people could pick out a game they would like you to fix. Or challenge you to fix a particular game. How about a video on your parts inventory. Something that shows the spare boards and parts you have accumulated over the years, and the most common new parts you keep in stock. How about a a few more videos of true EM arcade games from the 1960s and early 70s. I think you have only done a tiny number of these. The one you did of that driving game and how the projection was done was very interesting.
@@LyonsArcade They lost the license to Bally/Midway years ago to Pinball FX. They still have the Stern and Other license. But haven't made a new table for years.
I truly enjoy all your videos. You are doing a superior job saving these vintage games, even when they're in rough shape. It is sad when most of these games just get wasted in a landfill and rot. I was wondering about the ball that is inside these machines. Is there only one ball and it returns each time it pops back up on a counted setting; or; are there multiple balls inside. How big are the balls in normal pinball machines because I noticed in your Baby Pacman video that ball looked extra large. I used to have two of the miniature toy pinball machines that had five balls inside. One was just a table top but had the playfield and backboard and the other tood on four legs, blue in color and was probably two foot high. I do not recall the brand names of either one but again, they had five actual balls inside; probably 1" round. The ball or balls inside these big machines may be 2" round; and my guess for the baby Pacman game; that ball could be a 3" ball because it looked much larger than normal.
thank you for watching Gary! The standard size of a pinball is 1 1/16", almost every game you've ever played used that size and this Lost World does too... that Baby Pac-Man had the same size pinball in it, but keep in mind the playfield is much smaller on that game so it makes the ball LOOK bigger... there are tons of different sizes though, on the oddball games, so for instance tomorrow we are going to be working on a new series of videos on a game that uses balls sized 3/4" ! There was also a big pinball machine called "Hercules" that used a CUE BALL as the pinball, I think they are 2 1/4". Good question!
Thank you for the information about the ball sizes. My other question was do the machines have multiple balls in them or just one and it cycles according to the number of ball settings the game has; even with "extra ball" modes?
Oh dang that one looks tons of fun :) and one that is difficult to master (thats a gem to find) as challenging as it is no wonder a kid kicked the coin door he probally lost 10 bucks trying to beat 100k 😆
Pinball games have a 'blanking" logic signal, not sure what the blanking logic signal is used for in pinball games but maybe someone might know what the blanking signals are used for in pinball games because I think its for the displays
Yes I believe it's for the displays, it sends a blanking signal to the displays as they strobe in new information so that the correct segments get displayed on each digit...
@@LyonsArcade If my machine is the one I think I have, I played it in a bar while my dad shot pool. The bar later caught fire and this machine has indications that it saw some heat.
Great series.. You did a great job on that machine. Did something go wrong in that last game when you lost the ball down the left side? The special was lit, which I thought based on your reading of the rules should have been an extra ball. I dont know if you got the ball, but as it counted down your bonus, it wasn't making any sound, and it didn't look like your score was increasing, based on looking at the reflection on the glass?
Aww, the sounds simplistic games like these without all the extra music and backround music is what makes these so great, other players around you would know just how good or not so good a player is by just listening to the machine and it's sounds, reminiscent of days gone by
I was like what is he talking about caps on the jets the top caps are already on. Then my brain had light bulb moment of remembering there are electrolitic caps on the switches for the jet bumpers my 1986 High-Speed has them. ;) Even pro pinball repairmen brains tend to not work and then need a tune up and a good slap to the face. xD
The guy in the backglass has it made, he's ripped, has a sword, wings, a babe and a dragon. All he needs is a beer. I woulda put some wood filler in those holes tho.
I was waatching this video again with the demo play of Lost World and forgot to mention last time that some of lights are dim. The one I notice for sure is next to the right flipper. That light bulb looks dim compared to the rest of them. Are those light bulbs the same wattage or do those little bulbs comes in various wattages for varied brightness?
@@LyonsArcade well Ron what did ya do? Did ya wiggle it, did ya clean the contacts, did ya tighten it, did ya wipe the dusty residue off it, did ya find out they had the wrong bulb and replaced it? Hmm sounds like ya couldn't wait to leave a smart answer to an honest question.
The closest to true black is Vantablack or "Black 2.0", which reflects less than 4% of visible light. Unlike Vantablack, you *can* buy it at art stores; it's relatively expensive, starting at $16 per bottle. (Anish Kapoor refuses to allow anyone other than himself to use Vantablack for artistic purposes; Stuart Semple, the inventor of Black 2.0, lets everyone *but* Anish Kapoor use Black 2.0 for artistic purposes.)
@@SpearM3064 So when Nigel Tufnell asks, "how much more black could this be?", the answer is not "none. none more black", but "actually, this is a very dark blue".

It was, but our videos have usually been filmed awhile in advance, so we finished this one a few weeks ago and already sold it!
As you are hitting the pop bumpers up top that lower right bumper is getting a little brighter when it hits. Something is not right.
Get a strong magnet to pull a stuck ball through the glass without having to bump the game causing a tilt
