It's funny that your blue dye turned out pretty well. It looks better than the US Navy's old NWU-Type 1, not-so-affectionately known as the blueberries. It was a stupid camo pattern because all the other military branches were adopting digital patterns, so the Navy had to have one as well. Very important to be hard to see on a grey ship. The real shame though is they spent all that money on new uniforms but only found out later that the uniform was nowhere near as flame retardant as they wanted it to be. Kind of important since a sailor could be working around all sorts of fuels and oils and heat sources like engines and boilers.
Great Vid! I have just dyed a Gaberdine DPM British Army Smock, using the Dylon Jet Black, in a washing machine. Turned out really good. You can only just see the DPM pattern, but it certainly adds to the overall look. Next job is to get a black sharpie pen and colour in the green buttons. All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧
I have a gifted Brotish smock coat in that same desert pattern, never really been a fan of the colours so knowing that dying it isnt actually a bonkers idea is nice. Whether I also dye my tropentarn (german desert), I'm not sure about since its pretty rare now.
I wanted to get surplus military items because it's cheapest way to get good quality items for cheap but I want to dye it so it don't look like stolen valor thanks for the vid.

In the past I've used a burgundy dye that works well .

Test on something that does not matter

Your welcome enjoy
If the pack was enough for the bulk of material, maybe your water was too hot. It's supposed to be 40C.
Thanks 👍
l have a dark plum colour dye left stay tuned !
Have you tried it yet ?
No not yet basically I think it will take well .just think I'm not likely to wear it .
@@timeintheuk ah okay, I already tried a lighter purple and like how it looks but was curious about a darker shade.
Those Color’s look a bit odd. Quite dull and transparent.
That's overdyeing for you
Ur skin absorbing the extra chemicals like 🤢🤮
