    To this day Tearlament remains the ONLY deck ever to be Tier 0 in TCG, OCG and Master Duel. There is no format in Yu-Gi-Oh in which it didn't kick everyone elses teeth in.

    Tear is seen as a skillful tier 0 play, due to both players being able to play on both turns. This makes it where you actually need to know when to use effects and when not to. While other tier 0 formats just vomit out a hand that's almost impossible to play through.

    People need to understand how tear ishizu is bar none the best most consistent and resilient deck we ever had in the history of yugioh.
    Tell me other deck that can play at turn 0, have interruption in monster, trap, spell, grave and hand, make their full power board in less than 5 summon, have the ability to otk, able to interrupt and comeback even after their board get destroyed through hand trap and board breaker.
    No wonder the no banlist tournament from ocg have tear ishizu as number 1 deck after dragon link, spiral and zoodiac.

      Edit:
      Also with no banlist zoo would have Gossip shadow which they could easily make and then go into Rongo which is a victory condition on its own, alongside a drident and a broadbull and they can go into Zeus. After the January 2020 banlist that ended the TOSS format in the TCG and the release of Magician's Souls, SPYRAL was looking to be one of the best decks of the pre-master rule 5 format. Which is probably why they banned Master Plan as they didn't want to go through all that crap again.

    • @Tokumastu1

      It was the smart play. Konami knew very well the powder keg that would go off and banning Master Plan was a great way to avoid that mess.

    • @ulqi
      @ulqi ปีที่แล้ว

      Masterplan was banned as soon as MR5 dropped, which indirectly nerfed spyral a lot (because it didn't help the deck, while helping a lot of other archetypes). They banned plan because they were about to release new stupidly generic combo deck engines (namely halq, auroradon, linkross and infernoble [which can be played in spyral]). I'm a 100% sure that plan could be unbanned now (in fact the deck is worse that it has ever been these past 5 years), but it's risky since it can become good again with one single generic combo engine.

  • @renaldyhaen

    Tear-Ishizu as skillful mirror is the best joke in YGO history. They just mill and pray for a better target in GY, or in non-mirror, they can just auto-pilot to win the game. And maybe they never play mirror with other decks too, because most control deck mirror will be pain in the head. Maybe their only mirror last time is Zoodiac where single pops to opponent normal summon is enough to stop the play, or when Spyral Format when going 2nd cards are rare so they cannot do anything after opponent full combo.
    .
    For me "skilled format" in card games is diverse format. Because it gives proof that the best player is not only mastering their own deck, but s/he knows other decks very well and uses that knowledge to beat them. While in Tier-0, most of players just master 1 deck because they will always play and face the same deck again and again.
    .
    Tier-0 is always bad for competitive or casual. But somehow TCG pro loves this format, maybe because it is "easier" to play because you don't need analyze too many decks, you have "guarantee" when picking a deck, and auto-pilot in non-mirror; really funny.

    • @Tokumastu1
      @Tokumastu1 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If there's one thing I noticed about people claiming that Ishizu Tear mirror being "Skillful" is that those players are the walking embodiment of the Dunning Kruger effect.

    • @ulqi
      @ulqi ปีที่แล้ว +5

      i've never seen a comment so wrong in my entire life lol
      "tear ishizu is not skillful because 1. they mill and pray for a better target" no ? wtf even is a better target ? the mirror is literally about managing resources and not firing your name and bystials like a retard
      "2. in non-mirror" no ? we were talking about mirror and you're already off topic less than 20 words in lmao
      "maybe they never play mirror with other decks" yes we do ? I've never heard anyone saying strikers or spright mirrors weren't skillful lol, and yes I would argue tear mirrors were harder than all the mirrors I've played
      "zoodiac where single pops to opponent normal summon is enough to stop the play" tell me you haven't played zoo format without telling me you haven't played zoo format
      "skilled format is a diverse format" can't really say what u're talking about here, yes triangle format (with 3 decks in tier 1 which counter each other, basically sala strikers orcust) are pretty cool to play and often enjoyable and skill rewarding, but if you're talking about format where a huge number of decks are playable (which I assume is the case since you said "diverse format"), this once again proves you don't know what you're talking about. these are the worst format to play because no matter how well you prepare you cannot have answers to everything, and playing against 9 different decks in a 12 round YCS is just awful to anyone that has a decent understanding of deckbuilding (which doesn't look like you do).
      "while in tier 0, blabla master 1 deck and face the same deck" yes, that is exactly why it is skilled lol. you're playing with the same deck (often the same list, as tier 0 often don't rely on deckbuilding that much), so to get an edge and keep a strong winrate on all your games, you have to be A LOT better than your opponents. that seems obvious, this is just maths, but idk
      "tier 0 is always bad for competitive" no.
      "or casual" this is not what we're talking about, but once again no. you playing charmer structure deck against strikers with 3 engage is not worse than playing against full power tear. casual players are not welcomed in competitive tournaments, tier 0 or not. that has been the case for as long as i can remember (i've been playing since late synchro-early xyz era)
      "maybe because it is "easier" because you don't need to analyze too many decks" no it's not, yugioh is not always about deckbuilding or preparing, it's also about technical play. while I agree that deckbuilding is a very interesting part of the game, and that it was absolutely inexistent in tear format, technical play was at it's peak, and that's what we're talking about here. if you don't like technical play-heavy formats, then yeah you can literally quit the game during tier 0 formats because you'll not like it, that doesn't mean it not interesting to play or skillful.
      "you have a guarantee when picking a deck" you have no guarantee at all, because if you're bad you lose
      "and auto-pilot in non-mirror" once again, off topic
      i don't even know why i spent so much time answering your comment as you're clearly a beginner with too much ego, but you should really take a step back and try to understand what you're saying instead of complaining, because you clearly don't know what you're talking about
      btw : i won't read your response bc i don't really care and i've nothing to learn from you, but if you think you're right we can money match in a tear mirror, $100 with middleman, bo3, bo5, bo10 or anything you want, hmu

    I'm dreading the inevitable Ishizu tear format. I hate that Konami refuses to properly learn from their mistakes. Like They already saw how players hated playing Ishizhu tear (as well as the current Kashtira format) and still go here have at full power in MD.
    Also fun fact about D-Rulers, originally they were only meant to use monsters whose attributes matched the Ruler's own. This was shown back in the day before their effects had been finalized. Sadly in adding the use of dragons to serve as cost for the effects along with the matching attribute being kept as a secondary option lead to the mess we got.

    • @YukiFubuki.
      @YukiFubuki. ปีที่แล้ว +1

      to be honest would they still even have justification to be called 'dragon' rulers if dragons werent included in their effect?
      overall i think they shouldve probably done an additional restriction to their ss effect like instead of "2 WATER/EARTH/FIRE/WIND and/or Dragon-Type monsters" it's instead "2 WATER/EARTH/FIRE/WIND and/or Dragon-Type monsters OF THE SAME ATTRIBUTE AS THIS CARD" so dragons is still applicable but the additional restriction ties them closer to their attribute and make them harder to use in dragon piles as the most useful dragons of the corresponding attribute is very much limited when DARK/LIGHT isnt taken into consideration
      after all, according to the art of dragoroar these 4 are in territorial disputes with one another so it makes sense to discourage generic dragon piles and align them with their own element instead

    • @Tokumastu1
      @Tokumastu1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YukiFubuki. The thing was that in the early stages the Ruler part of their names was meant to be in service of the element each represented.
