Solar would be the way to go since the Electric company of Ocala raised its rates by over 100% and they were already one of the highest Electric companies in the state before that. I would think without solar, your averaage electric bill would be $900-$1200 per month at least. I used to live in Ocala and my friends still are there and pay right now in the cool winter months $600 per month for a much smaller home. So, best to invest an additional $30,000 in solar and have it paid off in 3 years!!

What's the out look on home insurance now after all the problems because of the insurance rates going up or companies leaving the state or not paying claims. Have homes prices gone down? What about future rates going down. When about prices on home insurance.
Don’t buy now. You will be stuck with high property taxes + insurance rates. Roof age rules, hurricane coverage, etc. Newer homes nowadays aren’t being built as well either because they know suckers are buying them up ASAP.
If the property is not being used for a taxable privilege (aka a licensed business) there should be no property tax as there is no legally taxable “situs” existing at the property (a location of a business). We have all been scammed and billions have been stolen from the people over decades of taxation of our homes when it’s a substantive right to have a place to live and not be taxed for that right.
What’s the deal with the water? I see a well pump. Does it have a complete reverse osmosis water system cause florida water is undrinkable. I had to install it at my house in Sarasota. Now bottled water out of all faucets

That tax bill sounds low. My taxes are 6k a year for a 1800 Sq foot house with a saltwater lap pool in North Port with homestead exemption

We are looking for a home in Florida also but realtors won’t give information about the insurance issues. We were told to research it ourselves.
