Cheers for this, been searching for "how to lose a stutter" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Rincaas Stammify Blocker - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my partner got amazing success with it.
As a stutter, I like to share my own experience and how to improve stuttering. I think the best way to improve it is to keep reading out loud. You need to pick up a book or magazine and spend at least an hour every day to practice reading out loud. Also, eat less sugary products because they make you tire easily. Regular exercise would give you more energy to reduce stuttering speech. Stuttering is still a part of my problem but I have improved a lot. You need to practice saying hardest pronounce syllables. My hardest syllable word is any word that contains the letter "S" in front. You need to say it slow. It is ok if you can't say it the first few tries. You will succeed after you keep saying that hard words over and over again.

I know some of you may always have a stutter, but practice reading, read aloud to yourself. Record yourself reading, listen to it, see where you make the mistakes and try to get better each time!❤
I used to stutter so badly. I would get interrupted in conversations all the time because people didn't have the patience to talk to me. This was in high school so I got mocked quite a lot. Not that I let it bother me, if anything it helped me find real friends who don't judge me and accept me. I overcame the stutter but I can still get a very slight one sometimes.

Man sending tons of love to anyone who has dealt with stuttering or just not being able to speak how you want to. I dealt with stuttering for the first 23 years of my life and I FINALLY overcame it. I use to have to use synonyms for words I couldn't say lol. I had all the tricks in the book man. I would hate going to dinner with my family because I would get anxious as the waitress approached me so I would have to order something off the menu that was easier to say other than what I actually wanted. The main reason I started my social media was to speak to people and put myself outta my comfort zone. It's all in your mind. You must recondition your subconscious mind and take control of your life. Now I speak for a living! I created a program to help any and everyone who struggles with stuttering like I did. I won't lie and say it'll be easy. but it definitely will be worth having control over your life!
For everyone with questions as to why the young lady says "Like" so much: She doesn't say that word more than any other young woman. The only difference is that she stutters so it's emphasized. The next time you hear a person speaking, try to count the times they use the word "Like". Many people say it a lot.
I used to hit my head on things like the wall or the floor when I got upset as a young kid... That's why I stutter and sometimes I cry because people don't understand how hard it is to live with this...
There's a kid in my class who has really severe stuttering (I think it's severe) and it's a pain to try to understand what he's saying. I used to stutter a lot, and I finally managed to stop it because my father and my sister would complain about not understanding me, so I really tried hard and eventually overcame it. I really hope the kid in my class will get over it, because he's very intelligent but his stuttering makes him seem unsure of himself and it affects the way people see him.
I'm 23 and I had a server studder for the first 15 years and then as I got more confident and comfortable I just stopped like I can have a full blown conversation and maybe do it once or twice but very rare watching this I'm like shit... I use to do that I use to be that bad. And the worst thing is if I happen to studder in front of someone i apologize like I should be embarrassed. To me I'm so thankful that its basically gone and hopefully one day they can come up with something to fix this.
Used to stutter when I was a young teenager, was horrible but the key for me was to face it and not give it to much thought, practice talking to people, build your confidence and it will get better.

Interesting. I know someone who stutters and the only time I rarely hear them stutter is when they leave me voice notes. That send them at random times so I trust they strategically decide when they are less likely to stutter before sending them. Yet, I notice they avoid phone calls with me (and I trust others) and they stutter lots in conversations held in person. It's so interesting sometimes that they can leave a 2+ long voice message and there's zero stuttering sometimes. I do hear in some messages they stutter or stammer ok words but it's infrequent. Yet, I think phone calls would be be similar to in person convos where this individual appears to have less control over their stutter (than they do when they choose to send a voice message). Maybe they feel more confident sending voice messages than they do having direct conversations either on the phone or in person.
I was born with it very very bad. Its still a problem in my life and it's very stressful. I say I'm now 70 percent better but Its still a problem. its hard and sometimes I just don't talk at all but I can speak enough to get by.
Y'all are perfect just the way you are don't let anyone get in your head and make you feel like you don't belong. Don't let anyone tell you you aren't perfect you all are.
Damn, I wish I could get over this. It's held me back so much in life. I'm so self conscious about my stuttering. I never raised my hand in class. I never hung out much with friends. I hated being called on in class. It was such a horrifying experience. Even doing mundane things like ordering food, or talking to people at the bank is nerve racking. I have to think of what I saw a lot in my mind and repeat it.
I used to not stutter but when I was a little boy I'd always make fun of my friend and after that I started stuttering. Never make fun of someone's disability!
Some how, some where, when I was on the "crazy" side of youtube, I actually ended up on the "normal" side and came across this vid. So glad I did. My 10 yr. old son stutters. I plan on showing him this. Maybe he won't feel so bad. It was a bit enlightening. You may have a stuttering condition, but it doesn't have to have you!
I can relate to these people...my stuttering became worst with age whenever I make phone calls, people hang up on me after accusing me that I’m prank calling them while “imitating a car engine” 😔

In my view, stuttering is a gift. I have that challenge myself but its slowing going away as I'm working on it.. I love acting and that's my passion. Same with dance and poetry and honestly my trainers help me out the most with the challenges in my life.. Some ladies find it cute and I'm surprised a little bit. But to get my point, Its a gift.. take your time with it and master it.. Honestly, if someone isn't patient with you or bully you for it, screw them.. Its your struggle. Work hard.
I feel your pain. I had to present a poem analysis in class today and I got stuck on a word and i could see everyone turn to one another and start to giggle. it kills me when people do that.
I stutter. It only started two years ago when I was in eighth grade, and is an on/off thing. I'm proud of who I am though, even if I get stuck sometimes. It can be hard at times, but I work through it. I even decided to join forensics this year (which if you don't know is like a speaking competition) Luckily the group I'm with completely understands my stutter and is cool with it. I'm just lucky enough to have friends that supportive, and totally feel for those of you who aren't so lucky.
I first started to stutter when I was 5 years old. Currently I am a sophomore in high school. Everyday I wake up and worry that I'll have to read aloud in class or be made fun of. I absolutely hate it. I am praying for God to heal me. In Biology class last week we had to give a presentation on the stages of meiosis. I couldn't say Metaphase one... I just couldn't, and all the giggles I could hear made me want to cry. I feel for these kids and know what it's like. Stay strong
I've always had a stutter, but my main issue is getting blocked. People look at you like you're nuts when you can't even say your own name. The worst was just a few months ago during my last week of college when for one class we had to do an oral presentation. The begining of it was pure hell and embarrassing but it did get better as it ended. That one moment still keeps me up at night if I think about it. But it could be worse I suppose.
Brett Wilson I like to call them 'procrastinating words' because, it lets me focus more on what I am about to say, rather then saying a full sentence and stumbling 3-4 times within the sentence
@staraptor106 Ive been stuttering for many years since the age of 5.. Ive been through a tough time.. but I no longer stutter now unless Im nervous.. the cure is to *Relax* and talk easily and slowly. the more you tell you self you can do it, You will. xx
I remember when I use to stutter... you can heal yourself!!! I noticed now I only get triggered when i'm frustrated, talking to much and expressing my anger, all at the same time. But very very rare. I use to think it will never get better
I'm a teacher and almost never stutter with my students, but in meetings with peers I sometimes have big problems. He says anxiety is not the cause. I say anxiety, fear, and anxiousness are the causes.
i stutter, my name is hard to say, i get nervous when initiating conversation. but when i talk to girls i dont stutter at all,its the wierdest thing. (it does happen with older women though, but much older)
A lot of people say a positive attitude in what your talking about will make u not stutter and there right. Impulsiveness is like a subsection or effect of a positive attitude. I don't mean impulsive meaning run a red light because u feel like it or do something wreckless. I mean put impulse into what ur saying like a curseword or something else. Don't let what ur trying to say marinate in ur head giving it time to anticipate failure and make u failed because u thought it didn't work.
Mine has come and gone over my 22 years. Probably at it's worst when I was in 6th grade. Although, I don't repeat sounds, I do have problems with "blocking." Being unable to make certain sounds. I always know when it will happen a word or two before it happens. It's led to developing a large vocabulary to find synonyms that I won't block. This isn't foolproof, and when I explain it to people they never quite understand. To add some irony to this, my mother is a speech therapist, haha.
When he talked about saying his kids names.....I freaking lost it. I've had a stutter ever since I can remember and I am now 49 years old. It has definitely impacted my life and still horrifies me to this day. I can't even get my own name out sometimes. I'm always having to substitute words I want to say with words I can say. I consider myself an intelligent person but over my lifetime several others thought I was slow. I thought the relentless teasing from childhood would go away when I became an adult, but alas no!! Adults can be just as mean as children. Thank God I'm attractive or high school would have been an even bigger nightmare!! Lol...jk....meh....I believe I would have had a different life without the stutter. Maybe, maybe not......I am blessed with a wonderful husband and two wonderful children, who thank God do not have this impediment.
Unless u stutter when you scream or stutter when u laugh it should work for everybody. U don't stutter in those moments because ur verbally impulsive. Thus impulse makes u not stutter. The key is not to use your old mindset habits when your trying to make a better habit. I myself stutter still and I'm trying to break my old habits and this new method is making slow progress. If ur blocked or mumbling u can't continue that inertia because the more repetition u get at it, it forms in to bad habits
The strangest thing for me is how it comes and goes, under pressure or not. Some weeks are better than others. I started at age 13 and will keep trying to beat this.
yeah, Um and like are Filler words that help us threw the feared words we dont like to say. All i can say is take a look at the "Mcguire Programme" i have just gone to a course and its great!!
ive been stuttering since i was 12 years old and when i first started stuttering i was really bad and i didn't know what words i stuttered on so i was stuttering quite a lot. at school i rarely put my hand up unless i knew i can answer it without stuttering and if i did stutter in the class the other students will laugh and the teacher makes fun of me but since then ive been to therapy and learnt techniques to control my stutter. i would advise you all to see a therapist they really help
For me as an adult who also stutters feels like a sense of being mentally hesitant of struggling getting the words out of my head and I would suffer a mental block which makes even having conversations with people, friends or even colleagues in the workplace more difficult and frustrating for me.
maybe if the person faces thier fear then they get over it ?? I dont have stutter problem but I used to read poetry songs and when its infront of audiance I get nervous and it causes the sound to shake but when I kept doing it I just kind of got over the fear and improved.... do you think it works in the same way ? as they say if your wet your not afraid of teh rain anymore.... so they might have trouble then it will flow ? am not sure am not medical person but just guessing
EVILIMPERIALISM23 same here, i stuttered mildly growing up, then i turned 22 and i started stutteting alot worse and its all because i put pressure on my self that i wouldnt put before
I'm a south Indian (frm kerala) and Im working at gujarat. I also do stutter in my own language BT it intensifies when I speak in hindi which is very necessary here.. Luckily my colleagues and seniors are kind and well behaved but still moments of stuttering does dampen my spirits for the day.. I wish I cud cm outta this..
when the girl is says like she's using filler words to try and stop the stutter. when that happens to me i say um allot and pretend to forget a word to try and make someone else finish my sentence because I know I'm going to stutter when I say that word.
@ryanbelcastro Yeah. To this day as an adult, I still stutter. It's worse when I get nervous. The letters B and M can be extremely hard for me to pronounce as the first letter of a word in a sentence. I literally have found myself having to really push to get the sentences out. People who stutter usually substitute in an easier word at the beginning to help us with the sentece (using a word with the letter Y at the beginning helps).
I shutter because my anxiet, I don´t can speak very well with a tension. I just have to lessen tension, Moderate Breath, good tone of voice, keep calm and speak.
@FreeStyleIceSkater91 She's trying to find words to replace the ones that are blocked. The "likes" are used as placeholders so that people don't think she's done talking and pass her over, and so that there isn't an awkward pause. I wouldn't tease her about this; she's clearly having a difficult time, perhaps made even more difficult by the presence of reporters.
um, i have a stutter, but i feel like my stutter is different to the guys in this documentary... i seem to repeat the first letter of a word that begins with a vowel. does anyone else have a stutter like this?
I may also have some anxiety disorder, which make it worse. When I stutter, I feel like I reach a road block in my mind and I have to find another word to "get around" it. Sometime digging into my fingers helps divert the anxiety into pain. But stuttering is super annoying and I will prbably never get over it.
I've had a stuttering problem my whole life since I was young. These kids have it a bit worse than I did when I was a kid. You learn to manage it though.
i dont think there is a way to "cure" stuttering its just depends on what works for you, for me if i stay calm and dont let my self get to excited of angry or not think about my stuttering really helps me, so just see what helps you the most
I have never once spoken fluently, I have had this since I was 3, which is when I began talking. I wonder what it's like...to speak clearly...I really wish I could speak clearly. I want to be an interpreter when I'm older, but I don't know if this is going to get in the way...
I have a similar stutter. When words start with certain letters. "P" is the worst, I can't not stutter when saying a word that starts with it. It gets worse when an "R" follows the P. The letters "T" "C" and "R" are also tricky :/ I guess there are many kinds of stuttering right? I just wish there was some sort of cure, it's awful :( I speak 4 different languages perfectly and barely put that to any use because I stutter more when not on my native language :(
I stutter somtimes if i talk to people. But if i talk to myself i dont stutter at all, so what i do somtimes is make pretend you are not talking to no one... i know when im about to stutter cause i feel it in my chest and i take lil breaths alot but u just cant think about it
no its not the case with stuttering, as the fear of public speaking alone is not the root of the problem, it is the stutter itself. sure, nerves make it worse but is not the cause of the stutter. what you were experiencing was nerves, being nervous and having a stutter are two completely different things.
I am 16 and i stutter! i am not ashamed of it if people don't understand than that is there fault. It's like a bridge 1 time saying a sentence is so tiring then 20 seconds later it's easys aying a long word then it's hard saying an easy word like "cheese"
Note the fact that boys stutter three or four times girls. There’s a lot more ADD in boys too. And more left-handedness... Anyway, I am older now but still stutter now and then. It catches me by surprise and I think, “oh god, not this again!” ...It was very frustrating to stutter because I wanted to go into some career involving public speaking . 🤭
i have a stutter fuck the haters and she says like so that her words flow i do it aswell say like, umm and them sorts of things just because we stutter it doesnt mean your differerent? your still normal but you feel like you cant brethe and the words just wont come out its phycological due to low self esteem so making fun of it isnt gonna make us stop its low.-kayla
She more than likely uses "like" as a non stuttering safety word. You have to have a stutter to understand. I've been through it...I know.
For a long time I used to say "you know", haha
I particularly dislike the hip use of “like” constantly nowadays.

I'm just lucky enough to have friends that supportive, and totally feel for those of you who aren't so lucky.
>doesn't want to be bullied for stuttering
>wears a fedora
But it could be worse I suppose.
... They are so cute. ♥ I adore them. I believe in them.
I say "like" a lot too. And "sorta". It's embarrassing but I still do it because stuttering badly and being unable to talk seems worse.
I know dem feels bruh :/
Brett Wilson I like to call them 'procrastinating words' because, it lets me focus more on what I am about to say, rather then saying a full sentence and stumbling 3-4 times within the sentence
I'm 19 and have been stuttering since I was 6. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who does it.
@staraptor106 Ive been stuttering for many years since the age of 5.. Ive been through a tough time.. but I no longer stutter now unless Im nervous.. the cure is to *Relax* and talk easily and slowly. the more you tell you self you can do it, You will. xx
Excellent coverage.
First girl gives a good explanation of how it would feel like. Your brain knows what you want to say, you can hear the word but it just won't come out
I remember when I use to stutter... you can heal yourself!!!
To block my stutter I used “like um” and etc anything that had “like” it kinda worked to block it
i stutter, my name is hard to say, i get nervous when initiating conversation. but when i talk to girls i dont stutter at all,its the wierdest thing. (it does happen with older women though, but much older)
The first girl nailed it on how it felt. I stutter and it often feel like I’m in a cage 😢
Aw Kimberly, thank you for sharing. Do you stutter when you whisper? Sing?
Very interesting how he doesn't stutter when he whispers.
so pressure makes it harder ha? how does this go would practise of talk infront of audiance make it go away ?
I'm no a stutterer but I stutter sometimes and I felt like I was thinking of the words as I was saying it as oppose to thinking my wholespeech
maybe if the person faces thier fear then they get over it ?? I dont have stutter problem but I used to read poetry songs and when its infront of audiance I get nervous and it causes the sound to shake but when I kept doing it I just kind of got over the fear and improved.... do you think it works in the same way ? as they say if your wet your not afraid of teh rain anymore.... so they might have trouble then it will flow ? am not sure am not medical person but just guessing
My stutter comes and goes I see it as social anxiety to be honest .
EVILIMPERIALISM23 same here, i stuttered mildly growing up, then i turned 22 and i started stutteting alot worse and its all because i put pressure on my self that i wouldnt put before
Man i feel the same way it is sooooo hard 2 find a good job because you have to call and talk 2 the hiring manager.....
I'm 35, I stutter. And I want to work with stuttering kids. I wonder how I do that...
I stutter too. I got it from my father. He's been through a lot since he came to America.
when i couldn't say my name.. :( i used scream inside my head!
when the girl is says like she's using filler words to try and stop the stutter. when that happens to me i say um allot and pretend to forget a word to try and make someone else finish my sentence because I know I'm going to stutter when I say that word.
I stutter, too. I honestly hate it. People I know talk fluently. I wish I could be like them....
People used to call me skip disc back in high school. But I was a okay with it because this is who I am.
I shutter because my anxiet, I don´t can speak very well with a tension. I just have to lessen tension, Moderate Breath, good tone of voice, keep calm and speak.
I used to stutter really from medication I used to take. I stopped it 2 yrs ago but I feel still stutter a little bit.
The main reason is because of high intelligence. That is the one good thing. I try and slow down and use the mouth more. It helps little by little.
The worst thing is knowing two languages :( I stutter less in English compared to Italian :(
+EVILIMPERIALISM23 It is very common for multilingual people to stutter less in one language. It is usually your second language.
same here. I speak English and Spanish but I stutter so much worse in Spanish (╯︵╰,)
(I can say this because I too stutter) count how many times she says "like" at 0:43
I may also have some anxiety disorder, which make it worse.
I stuttered alot more when i was younger, I can control it pretty good now
marami pala kami dto sa mundo 😘
Every time I finish a sentence I laugh
i dont think there is a way to "cure" stuttering its just depends on what works for you, for me if i stay calm and dont let my self get to excited of angry or not think about my stuttering really helps me, so just see what helps you the most
Think I have had very small bouts of stuttering. There are times I can't talk or vocalize a sound. Though it's pretty rare.
8:03 i know that feel....
my kid is 5 yrs old and she stutters, i just want to cry
I have never once spoken fluently, I have had this since I was 3, which is when I began talking. I wonder what it's like...to speak clearly...I really wish I could speak clearly. I want to be an interpreter when I'm older, but I don't know if this is going to get in the way...
wow i thought my studder was bad but this peoples studders are beyond belief.
how many times did she say like?
@FloridaFlasks I need some help, im going to join the army next month and I have to go to MEPs and I dont wont to get DQed. PLEASE HELP!
But if i talk to myself i dont stutter at all, so what i do somtimes is make pretend you are not talking to no one... i know when im about to stutter cause i feel it in my chest and i take lil breaths alot but u just cant think about it
oh i c . so its maybe a physical things as well then not just a mental thing
In a lot of cases stuttering is astrological.
Really? What placements?
no its not the case with stuttering, as the fear of public speaking alone is not the root of the problem, it is the stutter itself. sure, nerves make it worse but is not the cause of the stutter. what you were experiencing was nerves, being nervous and having a stutter are two completely different things.
I am 16 and i stutter! i am not ashamed of it if people don't understand than that is there fault. It's like a bridge 1 time saying a sentence is so tiring then 20 seconds later it's easys aying a long word then it's hard saying an easy word like "cheese"
i have a girlfriend who stutter but i think it is cute because i love her
that's always the feeling when u get away of it "fuck yeaaa.." i stutter dude
Note the fact that boys stutter three or four times girls. There’s a lot more ADD in boys too. And more left-handedness...
Anyway, I am older now but still stutter now and then. It catches me by surprise and I think, “oh god, not this again!” ...It was very frustrating to stutter because I wanted to go into some career involving public speaking . 🤭
yo i used to stutter so much idk how i got rid of it. btw im 14 now so i got it when i was like 10
I stutter sometimes but not like this lol.
i have a stutter fuck the haters and she says like so that her words flow i do it aswell say like, umm and them sorts of things just because we stutter it doesnt mean your differerent? your still normal but you feel like you cant brethe and the words just wont come out its phycological due to low self esteem so making fun of it isnt gonna make us stop its low.-kayla
when I'm with my friends i barely stutter unless its a word that begins with a vowel . I sttuter saying my own name sometimes,
damn man, i stutter and i totally know what this guys means
I get frustrated and take a break then try again. If I whisper I won’t stutter seem like
i have a bad stutter its wierd because it comes and goes it comes durinng winter its terrible i say um alot and get chocked up its embarrising
fffffffffffuck yyyyyyyou
Guys I think it's about confidence mine also comes and goes under pressure it shows a lot specially when I work .
I know just what they are saying. I hate how I stutter. I wish I could stop, but I can't.
