Got one on its way. $100 usd pre-owned and in excellent condition. I have to say the pictures in the listing dont do this justice. Thanks for the excellent video
I got the green navi, way better watch than what I was expecting. I believe it is a miyoto 8215 movement 6 beats/sec. Would have never bought this watch but I had loyalty points to use & picked this up for free. The dial is great to look at. I would happily purchase this watch with real money.
I enjoyed this review very much bud. Good job. I’m thinking of purchasing this watch since it is on the affordable end and I’m trying to build out my own watch collection little by little.
@@threehandhunter so as I mentioned, I enjoyed the video enough to actually purchase it. I actually purchased 2, the all black as a gift for a friend and the blue one for myself which I’m waiting to receive directly from Timex.
Definitely tacti-cool! ;-) Not sure if I'll "pull the the trigger on it" but great review. Of course, I have to mention how good of a choice of music you make. I got surprised again, and it sounds great. Much appreciated!
Thank you for the kind words, Paul. And hey, if I can help you see a watch and help you make a more confident decision one way or another, then that is a good thing!
Love the look of this watch. How is your experience with it keeping time? I had a flyback chronographer from Timex that I wore faithfully for a couple years. I recently sold it and am looking to get something new. This looks like a nice upgrade. A quality watch that looks nice but also not too expensive that I wouldn't be afraid if it took a little bit of wear and tear. Thanks for the great review!
I got this watch the other day and I love it, I got it for 25% off! I love the military style and color of the watch and just the black aesthetic looks great. This is my first automatic watch purchase and it looks beautiful! My only negative is the band seems a little short, but I think you could probably change if you really want. If you have bigger wrists you will definitely need to buy a bigger strap.
I'm thinking about getting this watch to add to my collection. I have a lot of Timex watches, vintage compass and most of the new compass, tide, temp as well as several chronograph flybacks and linear chronographs. The black one is back in stock for 269.00. on the Timex site.
I let the Timex go. But I am a Seiko, Citizen and Orient fan. But I can honestly say this one is made very well and does keep up with those brands at that price point of about $200
Nice review! I purchased an automatic Timex recently, mainly to "reward" the brand for their efforts to bring back automatic watch options. It wasn't too long ago that Timex had little to no automatic watches and now they have multiple choices. So I found an automatic Timex Waterbury dress watch on sale and jumped on it. Not unhappy at all! If folks want Timex to continue to focus on automatics, they can help by supporting the brand and buying one.
Nice review. My name is Marcus, I'm a watchalholic! I just ordered this watch. I like the open circle in the hour hand. It's different. I have a quartz timex, and it ticks loud....
Aesthetically I like it overall but it seems like some extra frills where minimalism might have better suited a piece at this price point. I think the date magnifier is ugly and I actually don’t like the hole opening on the hands or the military time numbers. If you can tell military time you don’t need either of those things. I’d prefer it shrunk 1mm and scrap all the extra stuff.
mistake not having a sapphire glass, and the Movement could be better.. could have used a SH35 in this price range. I think timex is GOING in the right direction, they have the heritage, they have some Original designs ( not this one ) and they have potential to turn it around. Miyota 8000 movement btw not 9000.
I agree about the no date. The hacking is not as big of a deal to me over the years. A good grab and go is I glance at the computer time, quickly set my watch to "about the time" and run out the door. Of course, not every watch....but on a few I don't mind so much. But you are right, they are moving closer every new release!
Funny enough I came across a version on eBay “END TIMEX NAVI XL Collaboration TWG022100” and it’s almost exactly that… dunno about the hacking, but I’m doubtful. Unfortunately the “END” branding might override the fact that it’s missing the Date (and magnifier) and got rid of 13-24. It’s also about 50 dollars less, if that helps.
Not a great performer, substandard lume, cheap miyota movement, sloppy bezel, non-hackable. It LOOKS really nice though and I wear it at least once a week.
The 24-hr arabics just look odd to me. They're small and look out of place with respect to the rest of the dial. Lumed, larger 24-hr numbers replacing the indices would look very interesting.

You are welcome. And TBH it’s one of my favorite Timex releases

Oh, that's a great free-bee! Love that! And I am sure others would love to hear that too. Thank you!

This is an excellent value, possibly the best in my collection of 25 watches ranging from Casio to Rolex...

Hey Evan, those Miyotas are pretty basic but very reliable in my experience. Thanks for the nice comments!

Amazing review, i’ll buy it! Please do for Expedition GMT Titanium Automatic Timex! Greetings from Mexico!
Greetings! Trying to get my hands on one 👍

@@threehandhunter yeah think I’m going to order today thanks for talking me into it 😂
@@tcwhite0104 💥HAHA!
Great video! Do you know if this design is original or a homage/copy?
I think it is a bit of a homage to a Rolex Explorer. Or, takes a lot of cues. But not a direct homage I don't think.
Thanks for this! I’ve been debating between a Navi, Seiko and Orient for quite some time. How has the timex held up?

Hello, Marcus! Nice to meet you! I think you will really enjoy this one!
I recently bought the Timex & Hodinkee Colab dive watch i love it !
8000 series movement
Nice, what makes that 8000 series different?
Wish I could find this watch
Look on eBay! They are there I think. If not new, someone will pop up selling one soon enough 👍

Great suggestions. As you get older you may appreciate the magnifier 😉
In my work, I often read police reports that use military time. It’s just convenient and a time saver to have a cheat sheet on my wrist
@@scotts5055 Ahh, that makes sense! Thanks for your service!

Thanks on the clarification. They are trying. Have to give Timex that!
@@threehandhunter oh 100% the S1 is a great step in the right Direction.
Is the tic-tac loud or not ?
??
Looks good
It was not bad, I am impressed!
I think £245 is a bit much when you can get an Orient ray raven which hacks for nearly £100 cheaper
Can't argue that!
What is the mode number??
You may have to google that. I don’t have the watch any longer
If they made a no date version. With hacking. I would pick up one up immediately. Timex is so close on a lot of their new releases.

Not my ‘cup of tea’ but an excellent video describing this watch. THANKS!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. They have some work to do, but I think Timex is on the right track!
It's an 8xxx series
Thanks!
I'd like to swing in the ocean with it. Has anyone tried swimming with it? thanks.
I haven’t. Sorry
