Is it good? I say yes, so much so that I bought two, one blue and one silver (champagne to my eye). I bought the first, found it to be very nice on my 6 1/2 inch wrist, and bought the second within a week. Both fall into my daily wear rotation often. FWIW... I could never own a non-hacking watch. I need the second hand to hit the 12 exactly when the minute hand hits a whole minute. Therefore, the original was never an option for me no matter how cheap.

I own the og and continue to revisit it often in my line ups. I can't justify purchasing the new version at its price point. The og is just so damn iconic and can upgrade the crystal and bracelet for less then the newer revival

Don’t see the point of making a versatile watch have “pop” of color only on the second hand and rehaut. Makes no sense to me.

Yeah, the new looks pretty good. Only thing I'm missing is the sunburst dial. I need that sunburst!

The snxs is very uncomfortable to wear, due to the straight underside. I found it annoing, just like Steinhart watches.

I just got this black one and I love it! The finishing is so clean. Looks great! Feels great! The bracelet is great. Looks good on straps

My favorite is the Turtle. I currently have a King Turtle with sapphire glass and a ceramic bezel. Green grenade dial. I love it and hope to add more turtles to my collection in the future.

This watch is the sweet spot for me in the Seiko lineup. $250 gets you 100 meters of water resistance and a newer movement. The sarb003 was great but why would we pay $700 for a movement that may not even be as reliable for a sapphire crystal. This is where modern Seiko falls apart for me. If you’re going to pay that much you might as well spend $200 more to get titanium and the upgraded dial of the Baby snowflake. And who wants to spend $900 when you can get a citizen forza with equal specs for $599 new!!!!! So for me one doesn’t need more than this Seiko 5. It’s only drawback is the lack of sapphire but who cares at this price. I am waiting for an Orient to match the Baby snowflake for less money. I have an old Seiko 5 from 40 years ago and it still works great. I also like the presage sary 055 on the second hand market as this will get you sapphire crystal and perhaps slightly thinner.

I don't know why Seiko put display case backs (on both of these). My first ever Seiko was a 5 automatic like this but with silver dial, back in 1986 (i think). Such a solid watch, and that didn't have a display case back

those old bracelets are so comfortable because they are so loose. i have a 40 years old ricoh with what we call today a cheap terrible a bracelet and it feels like im wearing nothing. i blame youtubers and other reviewers for this, they always complained that bracelets feel cheap and jangly and such and now everyone makes rigid, heavy bracelets with perfect tolerances that feel exactly how they are, rigid, heavy and uncomfortable to wear. it's a shame because bracelets are the most durable type of strap there is but, for me at least ,from the start i prefer a modern watch be without a bracelet, i would just replace it anyway, i can't wear these modern "good quality" bracelets.

I wish there were more smaller and thinner watches...like 37-40mm and 8mm height at the most

I have a black PRX, and I want to get a waffle pattern rubber strap. But I don't want to go black with black. Looking for suggestions: which color rubber strap would look best with a black dial for an casual lifestyle/apparel. Thanks.

Not a fan of those case shapes (Zelos comes to mind, at once), but the mint color is nice. So is the date, when you're on holidays... PS 04:12 Always "open" backgammon (tavli !!!!) case/base. Used as a tray too? 😋Not bad, but you can not smash it closed when dices drive you nuts and game is going really wrong. You miss half of the fun there! 😂

At the start of the video, I thought it felt like a lazy weekend in a Key West bungalow. Towards the middle, I decided it was a 1930's kitchen appliance.😂 Cool piece! The color reminds me of the interior of my 64 Impala!

How did you get the drilled lugs out to change the strap? Just got mine and I would like to do that but I’ve seen multiple ways online. Some say the drilled lugs can be screwed out others say you need a pin to push them out. Any advice? Thanks

Not a great performer, substandard lume, cheap miyota movement, sloppy bezel, non-hackable. It LOOKS really nice though and I wear it at least once a week.

Nice review. I'm in the waiting list for the orange dial. It cant come soon enough. The watches are great looking and the strap options look really good. Ill revisit when it (eventually) arrives.

I have one.... it has been my daily driver for the last 4 years.... mine a little beat up, some scratches here and there... the cons is the non hackable engine and it runs a bit fast, need adjustment atleast every two days.... if im not mistaken, i bought it for around $200 in 2010

I bought this model with a green dial and a brown leather strap. Kind of serves as a replacement for a watch that got stolen out of one my shoes while i was swimming in a river,in the summer of '87. It was just two weeks before i left my homecountry Romania for good. My mother,my brother and me had been given permission to leave,our country still being a communistic dictatory by that time,after my father managed to escape two years prior. That watch that someone stole on a riverbank out of my shoe in Caransebeṣ,37 years ago,is one that i would have loved to have in my watch collection for it was my first watch ever. My mother gifted it to me when i was eight years of age. It was a bulgarian one with a dark green dial,black leather strap and a handwinding movement. This beautiful Citizen timepiece almost had me forget that loss,being way more beautiful than the one mentioned. Just cannot take my eyes off of that amazing green dial. Love it. I’ve never heard of this model. And I prefer dress watches so the polished surface doesn’t bother me nor the short strap as I have smaller wrists. Just want to make sure the watch isn’t too large on my 6.25 inch wrists!

Interesting, I never heard of that brand before as well. I like the NC001 version without the whale. How is the quality of the watch? Vero open water is another really nice microbrand which I own.

Love that whale on the dial! Very nice piece, a fine tool. The whale reminds me of the Spinnaker whale sanctuary limited edition, with the Beluga on the dial.
