      Hey bro,,I've been watching you since day 1,,the 18650 days😂. I noticed your site is sold out of the 16 pack of 74ah cells. The set that's on sale for $479.00 do you not have any left at that price. I've been waiting a lot time to make a purchase so I can use in my travel trailer....any way I can get some help on this? Thank you for all your information and ideas over the past few years, I love what you do. My 1st pack was a 100p 7s 24volt system 18650s I spun 3 12g wires to make my bus bars and didn't use a bms for the longest time.

    This is a really awesome project. Thank you.

    Bro that battery box setup looks Professional af and well designed. Once its painted it will look store bought. You do Great work bud. Its impressive and encouraging.
    I've been fallowing your channel for years now and remember when you designed your very first PCB that held 18650's with the black battery holders and it was stackable/expandable using brass post. Oh and you used resistor leads to make the 5A fuses similar to how tesla was doing their fuses at the time. You have come a long way since then bro and every "DIY" setup i see you put out keeps improving and getting better and better. I respect the innovation and constant search for improvement. Keep up the great work bud. I really enjoy your channel.

    It's awesome to see this project progress! Would be good to see a silicone sleeve over the leads that go over the edge of the compression bracket to prevent them from chafing on the edge

    This is pretty exciting! I'm following this closely because your development of this particular 48v box is dovetailing nicely with the money I'm saving up for a v1.0 system at my house. In a perfect world you'd offer all these component parts on your site and I'd be able to order it all and we'd be able to refer to a step-by-step video you'd make expressly for this battery.

    @jehugarcia E6000 type adhesive / glue is probably what your looking for in order to hold wires / temperature sensors in place. E-6000 is a Polyurethane Industrial Adhesive. I use it in all my electronic projects. You can get it in white also. *** I would recommend using some adhesive also on the balance leads where they connect to the screw terminals! Also on any connection / plugs they do not come loose during shipping! The E6000 is also perfect for that!

    I really like this project. I bought the BMS and like what I see. I don't see where to connect the power switch. I'm sure it's in plain sight, but my excitement prevents me from finding it. Can you or one of your viewers help me with this?

    How about modifying this DIY BOX to a version for the new industrial Inverter BMS from JK BMS with many variants: 24V-48V, 100A-150A-200A, which is the first and only one so far to have active balancing 1A-2A, firmware developed directly by JK BMS, (not from firmware supplier company) and upgradeable, with Bluetooth, with the possibility of a color LCD display, with communication with many different Inverters. Closely developed according to the requirements of future users and with other traditional functions of industrial BMS: with current limitation when batteries are connected in parallel. It would only be necessary to modify the BMS mount and the cut-outs on the front panel.

    I probably should know this, what's the advantages and disadvantages to using a 100A BMS vs. a 200A BMS? Which one should I use, or what application would I need one over the other? Regarding this specific 16 cell 48V battery? And which is better, the red BMS sold on Amazon with links on older videos? Or, this cheaper one being sold from Aliexpress with the interface screen? I just bought two of your kits and I'm trying to figure the BMS part out.Thank you.

    • @jehugarcia
      @jehugarcia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Advantage - you have more power if you need it. Disadvantage - you pay more for power. The cells can do 200a continuous so no problem there. As far as features, the com ports to inverters…. I think that’s overkill and in don’t see the benefit, the screen is very useful, and the limitited charging and inrush are super useful for people who don’t know what they are doing.
