    Wow how far you’ve come from building the 24v packs 🙌🏽🙌🏽🔋🔋🐐👑

    I think this is really cool! It doesn't make a ton of sense financially though. It is more expensive price per kwh (~$297 per kwh after shipping based on the links on the store page) vs buying a base model EG4 LifePower4 48v battery (~$270 per kwh after shipping). You get a 5 year warranty with the EG4 battery and you don't have to build it.

      Yeah the 32cell box should be more competitive, might even be able to save money.

      @@jehugarcia Yeah how many of the 32 Cell boxes can you put together. I wanna cover 14 kWh for three hours to cover my on/off peak hour issue in the city so have a transfrer switch during peak hours

      @TheArchimedesEffect ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rperrin3060 Each box fits 16 LEV60 cells making 48v and with 148Ah. So x1 complete 48v LEV60 battery gives you 7.1kWh, so you need x2 batteries to make 14.2kWh per hour, so 6 total batteries for 3 hours I think.

      Yup, I agree with the cost aspect. The other issue is warranty. I just ordered 2 5.12kWh 48v 100ah rack mount batteries for $1,215.00 each and free shipping. So cost wise this project wouldn't make sense. Now if the total cost of the project was around $800 or $900 then yeah, it would save a few bucks.

    I would recommend using plastic isolator between the cells.The thin shrink wrap can rub off in mobile applications.I just bought 2 BMax batteries and built a 12V pack for my camper.Send me this kit and I can make a build and testing video on my next trip to FL

    • @CreativosEmpodera2
      @CreativosEmpodera2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. Since Jehu built the one for the video for stationary storage only he didn't use fish paper between the cells, but on several other videos he does mention specifically that you really should use isolation between the cells if you will be seeing vibrations in your application.

    I'd like to get just the face plate. I have 5 DIY batteries and BMS on the way, but haven't got a good solution for the faces yet. I just don't need to box.

    buy a pallet of lev60 cells, them buy 15 bms boards and make the 15 packs totaling 55 khwrs. then us a EG4 6000 inverter from signature sola. after you get your tools then your set. 55 khr avg, run it during supper off peak hours to charge up your battery bank. if you got solar and in AZ and grid tied. And paid .08 a kwhr but wait it gets better. battery bank 55 kwhr supper off peak at .03 a kwhr buy to charge up the battery bank and sell at .08 a kwhr from solar, it becomes a huge saving with this set up. !!!!!!! y'all get me yes? asto what i mean right?

    If the forward compression plate has the BMS' plastic stand-offs sticking through them how much fish tape are you applying to compensate? I'm afraid of proceeding with compression during my installation and potentially puncturing the sides of my batteries with them sticking out quite a bit as they were shipped. Is there something I'm missing during installation that adjusts these?

  • @Halfwalker
    @Halfwalker ปีที่แล้ว

    Would really like to see a setup using 17x of those cells for 48V. Lots of inverters will handle higher voltages - my own Schneider XW Pro will do 64V DC just fine. Perhaps design to handle 16x or 17x cells so the user can choose whichever format fits the needs.

    I've built this project. It looks like the JBD will not do balancing by default. I can't find anything in the front panel UI to enable this. Is this true? I've ordered a bluetooth module that may allow one to control this.

    should have made it universal to use 105ah to 60ah, sales would have been better. only people with those cells will be your customers. Id suggest a universal

      The box can be populated with any type of cells that fit inside, you just need a different BMS. Video about that here: th-cam.com/video/tcdU1MERzFo/w-d-xo.html

    You can find a higher capacity, better quality rack for less than the cost to build this, not to mention the time saved. this is a very informative video, but i don't see the savings. I'm guessing this guy makes money from the website he's linking to in the description.
