Colour balance seems off in the left hand image, over saturated in the green. It has better cloud layer but I don't see distortion from the engines that the RH image has. Very interesting video! I run FS2020 in K4 and the graphics quality is excellent. From the videos I've seen online, in my opinion there are no big improvements with FS2024, in fact in some ways the graphics have perhaps worsened due to how the light is filtered. I'm not about to pay to beta test a product for 2 to 4 months, I'll let others do that if they want to. Dating back to P3D V1 I've always given each new generation of flight sim several months before I transition to the new version *especially* now that all the simulators information is being pulled from the "cloud". It also allows third party devs the time to iron out bugs that can only be "flushed out" when flying under certain conditions; IE playing on VATSIM servers. Thanks for the video comparison, it was cool to see the differences in both simulators!
I started watching the video half way through and could have sworn that 2024 was on the right, I didn't think it was as good as 2020 yet. hmm are you sure they are the right way around ?
2024 looks so much better. Looks like it uses by default the newer Bing maps that we previously injected into 2020 with the Map Enhancer app. What really seals the deal for me though is how much smoother in VR 2024 is over 2020.

So what is missing for me, is what is it, that should make me upgrade now?

Over a week now & still 97% I have tried with my vpn on vpn off all my drives still no luck😡& the default ATC in2020 is total garbage, why can't they fix that?
I dont think either one is outright better than the other. 2024 has better water, better buildings and better detail close to the ground, but it retains that level of detail and sharpness at large distances and thats not what the world really looks like to (relatively) normal eyes. 2020 has much more realistic colours and contrast, the depth of field seems better at anything over about 1000 feet altitude and it's also slightly less sharp (though we can adjust that), which feels more natural. Both have strengths and weaknesses. Until everything has settled down, my serious simming is staying in 2020, and I'm using 2024 to have light-hearted fun in career mode and world photography. Thanks for posting this. The music is really quite lovely too.
It’s worth pointing out that 2024 looks unbelievably good and so much better when you compare them both on 4K ultra. When on High at daytime the two are a tiny bit closer
I'm still hesitant to jump to 2024 - it does look to be getting better quite quickly, but until the FBW aircraft are fully working and scenery is at 2020 level, I'm hanging loose for a bit. My Internet speed makes me nervous too, I can get no more than 38-39mbps.
Defenitely is 2024, a little bit better at the scenery, but the big difference for me is the quick loading times and much higher framerates and smooth flying in 2024. Only that was it worth to buy
My graphics on ultra settings looked like Southpark. Absolute crap. The reliance on streaming is ridiculous. And they’ve encrypted all planes and airports so the aftermarket community can do nothing to improve them and the sim? I got my money refunded and won’t be purchasing unless both of these things have been reversed!
The 2024 night lighting is better. It actually isn’t as broken as I thought it was going to be a lot of the broken stuff in the simulator is from the default aircraft. I’ve had absolutely no issues with the Fenix runs smooth no crashes no stuttering for the most part. But when I load into a default plane, it’s a whole different story.
I think 2024 has better more natural lighting, but its almost like a lighting / filter thing more than graphic detail. 2020 has more browns and less pop in the scenery. in 2024 it looks a lot greener, but then again if this is fall season the grass would be more darker / brown / grey. the 2024 look like summer time with the bright green and looking very nice.
I use msfs 2020 ( I do own 2024 standart) with REX AccuSeason Advanced Edition, REX Atmos and REX Real Global Airport Textures and it does look 100x better than with msfs 2024
2024 a lot better. If is the same weather, 2020 can see too far into the distance. On a good day when flying prob only see 30 miles max in real life. Most people in the UK that sim, think we live in the States with miles and miles of visibility.
May be Accuseason is not makaing a favor to 2020, any way the differences are very notorious and you said wright “when it works”. As the early 2020 seems to be an Alfa version, let’s hope the route to final version don’t became a long haul one
The video on the left looked over saturated and on the right looked more natural. So I thought 2024 was on the right! Although the missing power station was a bit odd. Anyone yet to fly msfs2024. I normally fly from Gibraltar. The rock of Gibraltar in 2024 is far more detailed. The sim generally feels much smoother. On lower end systems using Lossless Scaling app from Steam, is a must. It magically doubles framerate on the minimum 2x setting with minimal loss of detail.
I think Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is a pretty good game, and with a few more updates, it could be even better. But I don't think they'll make any major changes because they're more interested in making money than making a great game.
Tbh 2020 looks much more like real life and 2024 like a game! Thats sad but true. Im quite dissapointed as a real life video producer who likes to produce real life-like videos in msfs. I might have to stay in msfs2020 unless they do something about it. I dont even know what it actually is that makes the new sim so game-like. I think they changed the light engine to wrong direction making looking like more as game world than real world!
The one on the left is 4 better. I really wanted to buy this game but having observed the launch and reading about the issues cannot justify it in it's current state. Might Game Pass it for a month for a low cost trial.
I don't get how people prefer the 2020 right hand side. Stop at 13 seconds, far more detail in the 2024 version. I'm waiting a week or two for the servers etc to settle down and a few bug fixes and then it's 2024 for me.
It’s a no-brainer! Msfs2024 puts Msfs2020 to shame! The lighting, shadows, trees, textures, clouds, and flight dynamics. They just need to mature the sim now!…
Way way better performance on MSFS 2024....so surprised, especially now with Fenix update...from despair on release to now looking to uninstall MSFS 2020
MSFS 2024 offers much greater variability and scope in its visuals, so comparing it this way doesn’t make much sense-especially with such poor video resolution.
Nothing is better than in 2020 and making excuses won’t make this better. That’s because “career mode” and “graphics” were the main selling point for this to lure in Xbox players and TH-cam shitheads who don’t give a fuck about realism other than “look what my Xbox can do hahaha I walked to the summit of mt. Everest” to enjoy this GAME.
Clouds are better. No more sooty sponges. Ground detail is immense... even at Low. Higher LOD etc. Photogrammetry gets sharper much quicker... just try JFK. More CPU usage and Ray Traced cockpit shadows means it looks better, and utilises more GPU and CPU (i e less bottlenecking which= higher FPS.) I sussed this out in 15 minutes flat. BUT... you need good Internet, a fast nvme with a big rolling cache of over 100 GB... and a good GPU/CPU... i e RTX 4080 and 14th gen CPU. If you aint got all 3... you're screwed. And if you're not running at full 4K... you'll not even notice the difference. It makes me wonder why they bothered... Only 10 percent of users will think it's better.

What sort of Jiggery Pockery is this - Nice
It’s worth pointing out that 2024 looks unbelievably good and so much better when you compare them both on 4K ultra. When on High at daytime the two are a tiny bit closer
I'm still hesitant to jump to 2024 - it does look to be getting better quite quickly, but until the FBW aircraft are fully working and scenery is at 2020 level, I'm hanging loose for a bit. My Internet speed makes me nervous too, I can get no more than 38-39mbps.
Why is 2020 view all blured?????? I don't see it like that! Nop, that's not a true test, sorry
@@augustomartins9516 it's the heat blur from the engines. SimFX From P42 addon for the A320.
Also, out of interest, what day and time were used
Defenitely is 2024, a little bit better at the scenery, but the big difference for me is the quick loading times and much higher framerates and smooth flying in 2024. Only that was it worth to buy
Aren't we supposed to have native seasons in 2024? why does it look so green its almost winter....
Is it the inibuilds a320n in msfs2020 aswell?
No, Fenix 👍
@Easyjetsimpilot oh, good point. Almost forgot about that option🤣
I think, the videos are swapped. 2020 is on the left and 2024 is on the right. Just look at the waves and the color tone.
I use msfs 2020 ( I do own 2024 standart) with REX AccuSeason Advanced Edition, REX Atmos and REX Real Global Airport Textures and it does look 100x better than with msfs 2024
Beautiful, 2034 hands down
2024 a lot better. If is the same weather, 2020 can see too far into the distance. On a good day when flying prob only see 30 miles max in real life. Most people in the UK that sim, think we live in the States with miles and miles of visibility.
Has anyone used 2024 with low internet download speeds? My max is 35mbps and nothing faster in the pipeline here.
May be Accuseason is not makaing a favor to 2020, any way the differences are very notorious and you said wright “when it works”. As the early 2020 seems to be an Alfa version, let’s hope the route to final version don’t became a long haul one
Please could you make MSFS 2024 vs MSFS 2020 vs Real World videos ?
Sticking with 2020, the two reason is ifly 737 max, and 2024 is too expensive. Going to wait if there going to be a special on msfs 2024!
Pretty sure he has some graphics mod on 2020
@@Swole_Gecko see "NOTE* Rex Accuseasons installed into MSFS 2020" in the video details
Ray traced shadows and clouds really stand out.
I think Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is a pretty good game, and with a few more updates, it could be even better. But I don't think they'll make any major changes because they're more interested in making money than making a great game.
Google mapping was always better than Bing -😮
Tbh 2020 looks much more like real life and 2024 like a game! Thats sad but true. Im quite dissapointed as a real life video producer who likes to produce real life-like videos in msfs. I might have to stay in msfs2020 unless they do something about it. I dont even know what it actually is that makes the new sim so game-like. I think they changed the light engine to wrong direction making looking like more as game world than real world!
Well that's on you, actually 24 looks better than 2020. Maybe your Internet isn't good enough
@@trowfymobile9753I have 1gb internet so thats not it😊 The new sim just looks more like a game and not real life.
true words
@@trowfymobile9753 Look at the comparison in the video. 2024 is too green for this time of the year.
@@seetukka no, lighting is way better in 2024. And textures and buildings look so good in the new sim
2024 looks a lot better!
The one on the left is 4 better. I really wanted to buy this game but having observed the launch and reading about the issues cannot justify it in it's current state. Might Game Pass it for a month for a low cost trial.
AL FS 2020 LA BAJASTE RESOLUCION Y CAMBIASTE LA ESTACION.😁😁
2020
2020 looks better. Where are the seasons for 2024? 2020 at least looks like the UK atm, brown!
But thats because he is using a mod in 2020.
They just need to mature the sim now!…
Which one is which
Makes no sense to switch. Thanks for this video comparison.
One is on summer, other is on autunm 😜
Way way better performance on MSFS 2024....so surprised, especially now with Fenix update...from despair on release to now looking to uninstall MSFS 2020
While 2024 clearly looks so much better, I'll be sticking with 2020 for my airliner flights. For VFR? 2024 absolutely!
2020 was made thinking on people that love planes and love to fly and learn aviation...2024 was made for gamers, any kind of games and they are happy!
They both look like the same sim in different seasons. Hard to compare. Even the clouds are legit in both examples.
Msfs2020 💪
MSFS 2024 offers much greater variability and scope in its visuals, so comparing it this way doesn’t make much sense-especially with such poor video resolution.
Did you get them the right way round? :) surely the over saturated green is 2020...?
Nothing is better than in 2020 and making excuses won’t make this better. That’s because “career mode” and “graphics” were the main selling point for this to lure in Xbox players and TH-cam shitheads who don’t give a fuck about realism other than “look what my Xbox can do hahaha I walked to the summit of mt. Everest” to enjoy this GAME.
omg great vid but this music is killing me ;-p
Clouds are better. No more sooty sponges. Ground detail is immense... even at Low.
Higher LOD etc.
Photogrammetry gets sharper much quicker... just try JFK.
More CPU usage and Ray Traced cockpit shadows means it looks better, and utilises more GPU and CPU (i e less bottlenecking which= higher FPS.)
I sussed this out in 15 minutes flat.
BUT... you need good Internet, a fast nvme with a big rolling cache of over 100 GB... and a good GPU/CPU... i e RTX 4080 and 14th gen CPU.
If you aint got all 3... you're screwed.
And if you're not running at full 4K... you'll not even notice the difference.
It makes me wonder why they bothered... Only 10 percent of users will think it's better.
2020 looks a lot more like winter atm where 2024 just looks like summer all year round where is the so called seasons!
wtf where are the seasons they advertised for the 24 version lol really still need another mod for seasons well another sim that 3rd party addons have to carry the sim
