I’m so happy to see someone who promotes buying one luxury item but will use it to the fullest! this is a seldom move since most of the people nowadays buy luxury items and just display them at home
Aww thank you! I really don't find enjoyment in having beautiful items on my shelves. I prefer to have my things work for me rather than the other way round 😉
I have a Cartier from my grandparents but would love one Rolex someday as well. Almost forgot I inherited my mother’s Patek Philippe when she passed. That’s enough for me.
Another refreshing video with useful reminders, we really don’t need a collection of everything, especially when we are not working in the fashion industry. I have more than 1 for most of my items. But honestly I might as well have only 1, as I usually reach for 1 of them, especially for makeup and belt, so I’m a lot more mindful about my purchases these days.
New subscriber here! I’m starting to feel the same way. I used to have a whopping 40 purses...now down to about 12. I found that the hassle of having to maintain so many items, no matter how prestigious, was overwhelming and at times of suffocating. So now I find that items I don’t use simply get discarded as trash and therefore do not need to be in my possession. I use the same pieces around 80% of the time, and I am very content with simply having one of those pieces at a time. Love your channel, and I really really really dig your intentional shopping practices.
Believe it or not, Judith, you (or in this case: we 😉) are pretty disciplined, too! I know many people who have several cell phones or change theirs after a very short time period. I never understood that, I mean, if it's broken after some years, ok, but why replace something that still works fine? AND has such a big environmental footprint? But I agree, Eileen is the absolute Queen of mindful shopping, that's awesome 😍!
Mondays are the best 1 get kids ready for school, 2 head to the gym 3 get back home and do a bit of work and 4 have lunch and watch Eileen new upload. I'm with you on the belt, make-up and sandals, Birkenstock will do the job just fine. Your still the best youtuber in my opinion, thanks for reminding me that I don't need to have multiple of everything.
I truly believe that if I'm going to splurge on a luxury item, it should be one that should last me a long time or forever, so there's no point to buy the same item in a dozen other colors or sizes. This is also why when it comes to luxury bags, I usually go for the classic iconic style rather than ones that will go out of style after a couple seasons. As I get older and am more financially capable to afford nice things, I calculate how much wear I get out of each item and if I plan to use it for a long time before I splurge on it. Also when I was in my early 20's I loved experimenting with makeup, so I end up buying a bunch of them, but find that I only reach for a fraction of what I bought. Ended up wasting a lot of cosmetics because it just sat inside my drawer. The more I own, the more overwhelming it is sometimes especially when I start to declutter. And I really don't need that much stuff to begin with.
I totally agree with you 👏🏽. Don’t understand why people have a huge SLG collection of expensive card holders and purses that have the same use. Although I do have 3 Hermes H belts - as they’re two toned reversible, it’s 6 belts. And the hardware buckles of gold, silver and rose gold. So although I have 3 belts they are all different as I can switch up the hardware for many combinations.
Another great video. I find that I’m more aware and intentional with my spending now. It may not be “only one of”, but I realized I don’t need so many luxury bags, shoes or jewelry. I decided on the kinds of luxury things I love, and how many of them I would like to own. Now I have four luxury bags that I am happy with, a few high heels and several pieces of jewelry. I don’t need more! I want to use my items, and not have things just sit for months unused. I decided that from now on I only add luxury items on case by case basis.
Thank you so much for sharing! I think it's great you are so intentional with building your wardrobe. Excessiveness is pointless if we have no use for the items xx
Thank so much Eileen for your thoughtful videos. I've been decluttering and find that I don't need so much stuff. I've gifted some of my luxury handbags to my daughter, sister and nieces. I only reach for two at best. This pandemic has really made me more conscious of the real things in life and that is relationships and a kind heart. (for me :). xoxox
I’ve just come across your channel and I’m binge watching your videos. It’s extremely refreshing to come across someone who is into both minimalism and luxury. Thank you.
I totally agree with you. People who wants to start dipping into luxury must know this, as they really don’ t need much but better to have a curated and possibly classic pieces. Thanks for putting this out here. 😊
Whenever I get any crazy ideas I come back and watch your vids, I wish my mindset becomes exactly like yours one day it all makes sense and yet the temptation could get the best of any of us sometimes 🤦🏻♀️ lovely collection and it's enough to make up a classy wardrobe tbh we get influenced by the outrageous closet tours we see on YT 😂 keep it up Eileen 👍
To me, Longchamp is designer! I could buy a nice, nylon or canvas tote from Target or somewhere else, but I pay the premium to get the Longchamp branding ☺️
I only have one LV canvas piece (DE pochette accessoires), one evening bag (chanel black WOC) One card holder (YSL) one pair of trainers (not designer- adidas superstars) and one luxury scarf ( Burberry classic cashmere - 15 years and still looking great!). I inherited a vintage Rolex and its the only one I'll ever need. Love videos like this, showing thoughtful purchasing ☺
I never comment or subscribe to channels on TH-cam, however I absolutely love your energy and your content. I’ve always been a fan of mindful shopping and they way you make it elegant is awesome.
Great video, Eileen thank you for king about the price of having a shopping addiction. Personally I am being intentional with my luxury purchases. I’m like you with having only one item in each category 💕🥰
My one and done list includes: 1) bathing suits- I only own 1 because I live in Canada so beach time is rare here lol. If I'm on vacation I'll just handwash it and hang to dry outside and reuse it 😊 2) sunglasses- I only own 1 that i love and goes with everything 3) I'm the same with the makeup, 1 of each in the makeup category 4) I also have 1 winter coat only, in Canada it's all you really need. We go from freezing cold to hot, theres no in between lately lol
This is the first video of yours I've seen. You are so well spoken and have a friendly vibe. It's refreshing to see an influencer NOT pushing collections of items. There's something to be said for minimalism. P.S. Glad you kept your Rolex.
Love your collection and the way you curate your items. I’m the same way because I tend to be utilitarian in most things. However, I have way too many cosmetics! Seeing your 1 blush made me really think about why I have so many. Especially since I wear the same 2-3 most of the time. I see some purging in my future 😂 TFS ❤️
belt and sandals for me also, i love my reversible H belt in noir/gold, it strikes just the right balance between statement and classic for me, and the oran sandals in gold, my cost per wear for both have paid for themselves 😍
That’s great to know about the Kelly belt, my weight fluctuates which is why I have been hesitant to buy an H belt. I also like that it’s more low key.
Thank you for your discussion of the Kelly belt. I don’t have an H store in the country where I live so have to order online and ship to friends who are traveling and can bring it back for me. I originally wanted the H belt but was hesitant as to what size to order (even though there is an online size guide). The last thing I wanted was to order the wrong size and then have no way to return it. When you mentioned the Kelly belt was adjustable, it convinced me to go for that one instead. It also says on the website that it can be worn on the hips or higher up at the waist (unlike the H belt)...that is another very nice feature! This will be my one and only belt 😉
Great video Eileen, I agree with your assessment in terms of only having one of/curated designer collection. it's so easy to get caught up with others massive collections on social media, getting high of the shopping, hunt, and unboxing. I enjoyed the take away of the video, we really don't need a collection of everything.
I only have one belt bag, one cosmetic pouch, one wallet, one sweater, and one of each black and brown sunglasses, and one of each silver and gold watch.
#wise #classy #lady 🌸🥰 I agree with all your points in #all your videos, except for the color choices: your choices are obviously wise, however, as for me, I used to wear only neutrals for many years, but realized, I don’t feel like “me” or energized enough wearing neutrals. My “life” and first choice colors are now always: #gold #red #yellow even #orange … combined with neutrals. These #bright colors make me #happy 🥰🥰🥰 #thankyou for your great content 🌸
I think a lot of mindful purchasing is knowing your own personal style. Myself, I wear a belt almost every day so I don't mind having 3 belts that I rotate between, but I only wear my Apple watch since watches really aren't my passion. I think it's also important to buy one thing at a time. I only bought 1 belt at first but once I realized I was wearing it almost every day I decided it would be worth it to get a second one.
Like you, I also only have one watch - also a push present (but mine was from 13 years ago) - the small Cartier Tank Francaise in stainless steel. The maintenance cost is the main reason I have never consider getting another watch. The watch battery needs to be replaced every 2 years and a servicing is needed every 5 years. I only send it back to Cartier so it's a few hundred dollars every time. ( I am also looking at the Kelly belt and the Oran sandals....they are on my wish list for the longest time! )
Thank you so much for sharing! That's so expensive especially if the bill comes every 2 years. I'll definitely rethink about getting a battery watch in the future xx
New subscriber here!!! I love your content. I for sure over buy everything!!! I want to stop in 2021. I feel like your videos will be a big help. Thank you!!! 😁
There are many everyday items I practically use only one of, although technically I own 2. However, I own only one leather jacket, skateboard, guitarr, winter jacket (which I can layer under my shell), shell jacket, outdoor pants, hiking boots (which I also use as winter boots), and potentially some other things.
Great video! I‘m the same girl- one of make up items with the exception of lipsticks🙃and I only have one card holder, one wallet, one keyholder and one pair of heels (black😂)
That kelly in gold color is ideal. I don't have any Hermes in my collection but when the right time comes, I think I would get it in that color whether it's a Birkin or Kelly. My peekaboo in black with twisted design on the sides are what I consider my Kelly/Birkin for now and since the price of Hermes is not a joke and most of my bags are already in black, one perfect Hermes in this color would be wonderful. Also agree to this minimalist approach. Even though I like bags, I try to just have at least one item per fashion house or 2 the most.
I agree with all your examples except for work bag. To me work bag is the one I use most, 90% of bag usage is a work bag. So it makes sense to have a good quality bag for work and have a few as only one gets boring. Cost per wear is low for work bags as they get used every day ( not this year though ). I find that other bags I get to use very little.
I love your belt and how it’s adjustable. I own that tote bag, but haven’t worn it because I purchased it just before COVID and haven’t needed to wear a larger tote. Thanks for yet another great video! By the way, I love your haircut.
Love ur content! I am very mindful of my luxury purchases, although looking at my wardrobe u would never guess it. 🤦🏻♀️ My problem is, I bought a few luxury bags quite a long time ago. Now I don’t use them, but would lose so much money selling them that I don’t have the heart. However every time I walk into my wardrobe looking at them doesn’t give me joy. Maybe I should just sell and cut my losses 🤦🏻♀️
I personally would do that too to be honest. Cutting losses can be painful but it really reminds me to not repeat the same mistake twice. You will very even more mindful xx
I just found your channel and is hooked! I share the same views on subtle elegance and minimalism. I have been searching for a leather jacket that fits my petite 5 ft frame. What is the brand of leather jacket and the size you have? Thanks so much!
Totally with you on one twilly for one H bag - I tend to do the same although I do swap one or two around. Mainly because I am too lazy to keep tying and untying the twilly :)
May I ask wear and tear on hermes belt? Does the leather peel off? Tarnish hardware? I’m interested to get one. It’s gonna be my first and forever belt 😆
This was really good and excellent advice. I am very much like you and have only one of most things. The only exceptions are my two Pochette Metis’s, sweaters, summer tops and lipsticks. The last three tend to wear out quickly so I find that multiples are necessary, especially when I find a colour I wear a lot because who knows if it will be available next year.
Hello Eileen! I absolutely love your videos! You have a gorgeous collection of Hermes bags and everything else! Your taste is impeccable. I go overboard on most luxury but only have one Bolduc navy Hermes scarf and two Twillys! Yet I have 4 Hermes belts! 😮. I’d love a rose gold Cartier panther too! Do you know the French brand Poiray? The large Ma Premiere is lovely and you can easily switch bands. I have two 🤫🙈. Be safe and well! Much love. ❤️
I have one LV Empreinte Key Pouch which I've had for 5 years. It's still is in great shape. I have recently thought about getting another one in a different color but then I stop and ask myself, why? I'm sure I'll have my key pouch for years to come.
I agree 1 watch is enough for me. I would add 1 pair of sunglasses is enough, 1 H scarf that you love, 1 CDC bracelet. Sorry, for make up i need multiples 🤣
When i saw your Rolex it brought back memories !!! 30 YRS ago my jeweller offered me that same exact watch from a client in need of $$ ..I was not "in love " with it but he told me it would be a good investment ?? I went to Rolex to guarantee the movement inside !! The watch was legit! But after a week of triyng to wear it and like it ,,.i returned it ... I missed on " investment "!!! 😘
Rolex watch is classic fine watch, you can never go wrong with it :) I find it hard to be able to collect fine watches, because they are more expensive than any handbags combine together :(
Great video Eileen! You always seem to keep me in check in a good way!:) Love it . I also like to keep my wadrobe in neutral colors. Its just so easy to choose from . I've just trying to decide to get maybe a neutral colored back but very torn as I'm petite and big bags don't do me any justice. :( is the Gucci mini dionysus in white something to consider or are there better choices? Obviously I like something within reason. Any suggestions? So glad you kept your Rolex and the H belt is a dream. Have a lovely week. Xxx
I would get a bit anxious about a white bag to be honest. There are so many small bags I love though, Hermes mini Lindy, Fendi mini peekaboo, Loewe mini hammock and the list goes on lol xx
i finally found someone who brings luxury and minimalism together - LOVE
Glad you liked my content! xx

I have more than 1 for most of my items. But honestly I might as well have only 1, as I usually reach for 1 of them, especially for makeup and belt, so I’m a lot more mindful about my purchases these days.
Thank you for sharing! I agree, I think we all need a somewhat more realistic take on luxury collection, especially in 2020 xx

Thanks Eileen for those ideas. I'm also thinking of beginning to just buy designer articles which i could really use frequently.
Please let us know what you end up getting! All the best xx
Hi Eileen
I really enjoy your channel. Wondering what size your Grana pjs are as I also want an over sized fit.
Thank you
I agree with all your examples except for work bag. To me work bag is the one I use most, 90% of bag usage is a work bag. So it makes sense to have a good quality bag for work and have a few as only one gets boring. Cost per wear is low for work bags as they get used every day ( not this year though ).
I find that other bags I get to use very little.
Thanks for your content. Love it
Thank you! Xx
Hello, new subscribers here. That's my plan one piece of this and that in my wardrobe and not the whole collection of Chanel, LV, Hermes, etc.
I love your belt and how it’s adjustable. I own that tote bag, but haven’t worn it because I purchased it just before COVID and haven’t needed to wear a larger tote. Thanks for yet another great video! By the way, I love your haircut.
Thanks for sharing!!xx
Amazing points! I’m in the process on purging down my collection :)
Purge away! It's one of the best things I've done for my wardrobe 😉
I just found your channel and is hooked! I share the same views on subtle elegance and minimalism. I have been searching for a leather jacket that fits my petite 5 ft frame. What is the brand of leather jacket and the size you have? Thanks so much!
Wonderful video. I always appreciate them and learn so much!
Thank you so much, it really means a lot xx
I love your videos and how practical you are. 🥰
Thank you so much! xx
Totally with you on one twilly for one H bag - I tend to do the same although I do swap one or two around. Mainly because I am too lazy to keep tying and untying the twilly :)
Same here! Even fixing the loose twilly on my bags sometimes drives me a bit crazy xx
Very helpful tip! ⭐️ thank you for sharing :)
Love and light from Montreal 🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it! (always want to visit Montreal!) xx
I love the belt! So simple and classic. I love your voice! So soothing and relaxing☺️
Thank you so much!xx
May I ask wear and tear on hermes belt? Does the leather peel off? Tarnish hardware? I’m interested to get one. It’s gonna be my first and forever belt 😆
This was really good and excellent advice. I am very much like you and have only one of most things. The only exceptions are my two Pochette Metis’s, sweaters, summer tops and lipsticks. The last three tend to wear out quickly so I find that multiples are necessary, especially when I find a colour I wear a lot because who knows if it will be available next year.
Thanks for sharing!!xx
Love watching your videos and your voice is so calm. Greetings from Belgium ♥️
Thank you so much! I visited Belgium more than a decade ago, really love the place xx
a nice pair of RX sunglasses are an excellent investment
I had the same problem on hermes kelly belt and sold it finally!
I see that dolly wink eyeliner ehehe, it's so good!!
💛
Great list of the ideal items for a luxury wardrobe.
Glad you think so! Thank you xx
Much love. ❤️
Thank you so much for the brand suggestions! I will definitely check them out xx
Oh this belt is cute
I have neither designer belts nor twillies, but do 1 watch, 1 leather jacket and 1 car!!!!
Haha I left that one out, one car for me too 😉
Ooh... I’m also eyeing the Panthere rose gold. Actually I’m waiting for Cartier to release a rose gold mini version (without diamonds). 😍
Thank you for letting me know! I'll definitely keep a close eye xx
I have one LV Empreinte Key Pouch which I've had for 5 years. It's still is in great shape. I have recently thought about getting another one in a different color but then I stop and ask myself, why? I'm sure I'll have my key pouch for years to come.
It's wonderful to have a good quality piece that lasts for years! xx
Wonderful advice I always appreciate your videos 💕
Thank you so much! xx
Your oversized jumpers/knit dresses are great. You wore two light neutrals and one darker one with your parka. What brand are they?
Hi I got it form Banana Republic many years ago xx
I agree 1 watch is enough for me. I would add 1 pair of sunglasses is enough, 1 H scarf that you love, 1 CDC bracelet. Sorry, for make up i need multiples 🤣
Thank you for sharing! xx
Hi, can you do your clothes review? I love all your top it looks nice on you.
Hi Eileen, can you share the brand of your Parker jacket? Love it.
Hi it's Woolrich Arctic Parka xx
Are you from Hong Kong? Nice, simple collection you have.
Hi I'm from Malaysia, thank you for dropping by 😊
I enjoyed the video and I love everything! What is the name of the parka?
Hi it's Woolrich Arctic Parka xx
@@ColourfulNoir thank you!
I think it's great you did what your heart felt was right to do xx
Love the Kelly belt. I don’t currently have the need (or figure 😂) to utilise a belt but one black and one brown I think would be necessary.
I feel you! The other day my boy said to me, 'mummy was I in your belly before? It looks like I'm still in there!'
Absolutely gutted 🙈
What is the best way to find a buyer for Hermes bags? I live in US and it is so hard to get a birkin bag!
You are my inspiration 😌
Aww that means so much, thank you! xx
Hi Eileen, I would like you talk about your investment portfolio.
Rolex watch is classic fine watch, you can never go wrong with it :) I find it hard to be able to collect fine watches, because they are more expensive than any handbags combine together :(
I agree! I've been looking at the preloved market, you can really find some amazing deals xx
That belt 😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you. Will look into it. :)
Can't wait for your next video. Xxx
