Kinda insane hearing Andrew week after week calling someone else a fat tub of lard
Trading for Torkelson seems to be more of a Stearn move.
Torkelson for McNeil?
Start Acuna at 2nd
Outside the box idea I don't really see anyone talking about... is it possible McNeil at first is the move? He's filled in in the past, and he's a good candidate bc his major defensive liability is below average throwing arm. They don't need him for outfield depth anymore, and this opens up 2B for maybe a short term cheap Iglesias deal, and/or giving reps to guys like Acuna or Mauricio.
1B is a power-heavy position and McNeil there wouldn’t make the lineup better for structure. McNeil’s tools are best suited at 2B per positional value these days. And barely at that considering his recent decline from all facets.
@@CarsonMW I've been hearing that with power coming from so many positions these days, that it's less important now at 1B.
The Mets let quality firstbasemen go to other teams while waiting
for Alonso/Boras to accept their terms. Only to have A/B use it as leverage
demanding top market value because he's the best(last) remaining FA at 1B.
Pete is following the Boras path of Conforto & Steven Matz. He'll sign where
Boras tells him to, unlike the Japanese players who go where THEY want to.
