Have to agree and I hate Math but makes perfect sense. One of the reasons I laugh while watching on TH-cam. The volume turned up, the screen rubbers at the casinos, pulling out the ticket and putting it back in. I giggle.

That's basically it.
But one time after having delicious buffet at new york new york, there was a penny slot machine and decided to try it. Took $10 and basically 5 minutes later, hit a payout for $90 which covered the buffet and I just left. So that was fun.
It's for entertainment purposes. You only spend a planned amount of money to have fun and if you walk away a winner it makes it that much better. I grew up in Nevada and that's the concept as I know it otherwise it becomes addiction
I used to work for a large slot manufacturer as a QA Engineer. I tested the games. What you said in this video is 100% EXACTLY ACCURATE. All of the games we created had numerous mapping tables. Sometimes, the games were so complex that I would have to contact the programmer or mathematician so they can explain to me the math. The games were super complex.
But I can tell you with confidence that all games can hit the top jackpot on every single spin, or bonus round, etc. The low paying symbols are highly weighted, however. This is why you never seem to get top awards but it is possible.
If the odds are what they are and more people have played that game then the odds of probabilitie and no one has won. The game is rigged 😤
This is bullshit. I was at a casino and there were three machines that were running super slow whereas when the wild were coming around the wheel, the players could stop the machine so that it stopped exactly where the line was when they stopped it. There are machines where you can stop individual rows. These machines were this type so I watched this gambler next to me stop the reels on a nearly full screen of wilds every time they were in vision. Also, the casino can change the machines to be heavily weighted toward losing spins during the r & g spins as well. Certainly there are machines that will stop on the predetermined character. You can actually see the reels jump by the pictures on the screen at the time you stop it and goes to the predetermined finish. So not all machines run the same. You can't tell me the casino doesn't have control over how much money they make. Otherwise, every one of them would go broke. If the randomizer is truelove random, it would be possible for the casino to lose. It may be random but the machines are set to randomly Pic the bigger reels less or more times depending on how they set the machine.
@@kathyplamann9502The thing is it will payout the probability, not to say it won’t take $5/$50/$500 to make money or break even. Know the slot, and know what it will take to pay out for what you are looking for. I play smart and it may take me 5 hours to make ~$500 but there is a strategy.

What is predetermined is that over a long enough timeline you will ALWAYS lose your money.
Unless you are lucky enough to hit the millions and then quit playing lol. But in life yes, we all lose our money in the end of life.
I’m not so sure about that, I’ve been playing slots/pokies in Australia for over 15 years and I’m actually tens of thousands ahead.

But I think the best tip was what you said at the end… to make your trip last, play the LOW volatility machines first… try to build up your bank roll then you can move on to a little more risk if you want without losing it all in a short time potentially! Oh, and about volatility, do you believe the manufacturer if they list the volatility of a machine on their website?
For example: Everi lists games like triple jackpot gems and double cherry as 1 out of 5 in volatility, but they are usually 9 line 3 reel games. Would you consider those games in the ‘ low volatility’ category?
Yes, I would believe that and yes, I consider that fairly low in volatility.

No matter how random the number generation is, the foundational odds that are baked in will eventually ALWAYS payoff for the house.
Correct....it's all based on laws of math (i.e. probabilities). It's the "law of large numbers" to be exact. Anyone that really wants to understand how slots work only need to understand that law of math.

This is excellent Marc. I generally had this in my head for a few years and you confirmed much of what I’ve thought and learned. However, what blew me away was the probability chart on DD…. It’s considered low volatility yet has an 85% probability of a losing spin. Yikes… that really hit home. Made my wallet pucker a bit! Thank you guys, the vids are top notch…

The other night playing Dancing Drums. Got the bonus and chose the lowest volatility 10 spins. Hand on Bible that thing retriggered FIVE times during my bonus. Seemed pretty damn "hot" to me 😃
Machines are UNDOUBTEDLY hot and cold... I don't care what anyone says. It may be a random number generator, but if that's the case then they're not as random as the programmers hoped they would be .. it's true that we cannot actually replicate randomness.

The wins are on a curve type of scale, lowest odds for lowest bets an highest odds for highest bets. That's why they say always play max bet for your best chances of winning.

Think my head exploded! Volatility is the name of the name for me. Lots of my friends had no idea about volatility of slots,been trying to educate bunch old ladies OMG, some listen!
I played slots for 41 years and I quit 5 years ago (in 4 days) when it started to get silly with stakes and volatility. I never knew I had a problem until I quit. These days I wouldn’t entertain playing a slot, but this video was insightful and just why I quit. Thanks for the video.
I been playing for years and you will never just straight lose forever. One day you will win. But if you really want to guarantee a win just buy your own slot machine. They go for 500 to 5000.
I used to live in Vegas in the late 80's.
I found that there is no winning in the long rum. I would be up, and leave a casino. On the way to my house, I'd walk into another casino and lose everything I was up from the other casino. You just can't get away from it !
I started almost 3 years ago, yes, I lost more than winning 😢
I just do less trips now and if I winn I keep it, then wait 2 weeks or . more to go again with a little money
This video about telling you to go watching You Tube of live players playing the slots should tell you everything you need to know about how much cash they take and hopefully you are the one who hits that great bonus payout which generally ends in disappointment. But I absolutely get the thrill though and why these extreme volatility are so popular, they are literally addictive as fk.
When I first quit, I would fire up a live stream of slot plays and would smile to myself when I see $1000 deposited and lost inside 20 minutes and those were micro stakes. The longer I stayed off slots the easiest it got just by watching others lose and if they did win big, it was often less and they had put in anyway. If you really really want to quit, I suggest you watch live slot players on streams and see how much they actually lose, even better if you can watch all their sessions just to grasp who really is the winner.
I am now just so annoyed it took 41 years, missing out on my two kids growing up because slots came before anything and decades later they became my antidepressant, my go to when I was having bad days, weeks months and even years.
The one bit of advice I can give is, KEEP YOUR KIDS AWAY FROM SEEING YOU GAMBLE. They will follow you when they get older I promise you that.
IMHO slots are programmed to favor the house.

The machines in Europe and the UK work very differently and are much more 'percentage' based, ie more in more out controlled by the machine.

Please do a video on multi denomination machines! I have watched videos on TH-cam even from many years ago with people trying to explain them
and the information is contradictory. Some say when you play at a certain denom and then switch to a different one, it’s basically the same thing as playing a completely different slot machine as the rtp is set differently for each separate denom. Others say it’s an overall rtp for the whole machine regardless of the denom.
Each denom has a separate payback % setting on a multi-denomination machine. It IS just like getting up and walking to another machine.
