I’m not american, but being a Brazilian dude with Japanese descent and living in a region with a pretty big Japanese population, baseball ended up in my life recently, despite the fact that for most part of my life I didn’t care about it a lot. 2024 was the first year I decided to really sit down and watch an MLB season, and i don’t why, but the Mets ended up becoming my favorite team in the league, I have a lot of fun watching them play. I really hope they continue to play well, because I already became used to cheer for them lol. LGM!
I mean I never want to turn anyone away from Mets fandom as a Mets fan but the Dodgers might have the 3 best Japanese pitchers in baseball on their team in 2025. At least 3 of the top 5, not to mention the best DH in baseball. But we are fun billionaire underdogs so the more the merrier!

That last quote really resonates with me because of something that happened before the season began. In 2023, the Mets season from hell managed to hurt me in unique ways. On July 1 2023, my aunt died. She was a diehard Mets fan, someone who truly loved the team since being a kid during the Miracle of '69. When I would visit her during baseball season, it was very common to have the Mets game of the day on TV, and the last time I saw her before the illness began to take hold, was my birthday, we were talking about the potential the 2022 Mets could have done. It probably won't surprise you to know that I didn't bother watching most of the season afterwards. It was pretty painful. If that was a painful experience, it gets worse. Five months later, her husband, & my Uncle died of a separate illness. He was also a diehard Mets fan, and he was just as passionate as his wife. They were essentially childhood sweethearts, his mother was a Sunday School teacher at the same church my grandfather was, he became close with my Aunts, Uncles, and my Dad (Although both of them were years older than my father). I honestly believe that after losing his wife, his will to fight on just vanished. I'll never know his thoughts during those last few months, but I doubt the 2023 Mets made life easier. Being as they had no kids, pretty much everything they had built over their lives had to be divided and sold. I got a cut of their inheritance, with equal shares going out to all their nieces and nephews, and my Dad and I both went to clean out the house before it could be sold, and included in there was some Mets stuff that had been destroyed in storage by the passage of time. I ended up finding a clay replica of Shea Stadium, and decided to keep it as a token of remembrance. In fact, one of the last days we went to clear out everything, happened to be on the first day of the year, where they got swept by the Brewers and Rhys Hoskins got at it with Jeff McNeil (which I'm surprised wasn't talked about here). I tried to stay hopeful, and then May came, and I think around the Jorge Lopez incident (I can't remember exactly when), I said aloud that the only good thing about their deaths was that they didn't have to watch this Mets team flounder around. Then June came, and it began to happen. The private meeting, Vientos going off, Iglesias, OMG, Grimace, the winning. I was just as excited as any other Mets fan was, and just as stupefied. I couldn't believe it was happening. Was something supernatural happening? Was someone I knew guiding this team from above? I couldn't tell you an answer, just that I had two recently deceased relatives that would gladly do what it takes to guide the Mets to success. The series against Atlanta in July was the moment I believed it was destiny. Then Senga got hurt again, and I immediately began to panic internally. Was this team relapsing into it's old ways? Thankfully despite some bleeding in August, September came, and I saw all those wins mentioned in the video, and was feeling good, and then came the final series against Atlanta, and I ending feeling genuine fear after that first game. Then the hurricane came, and it was going to come down to one doubleheader on Monday. I remember that first game like it was yesterday, and honestly feel that the Braves would have won had they not pulled Shwellenbach when they did. If they had let him face a couple extra batters in the eighth, or just not have him go back out on there at all, the pitching for the Braves would have likely not been scrambled enough for the Mets to get all those runs. I thought it was sure to happen. Then Edwin lost his stuff, and I panicked again. I was scared they didn't have the pitching for Game 2 that day to hold off Atlanta. And then Lindor came up. Needless to say I screamed when I saw that happen, and again when Edwin sealed the deal. I distinctly remember jumping for joy, falling on my bed, and looking up. If there was a god and heaven, then I knew who up there would have been celebrating as hard as me. And that they would have been so happy to see it if they were still here. Game 2 was a victory lap. I didn't end up watching that as I had other things that day. So the Mets beat the Brewers in Game 1. Also Jesse Winker clearly hadn't let go of his beef with the Brewers. Thankfully nothing too stupid came out of it. Game 2, was crushing but I believed in Game 3. Offense fails to show up, down 2-0, here comes Pete. I should mention that throughout the season, my parents (who I was watching this game with), had been very critical of Pete's performance and how he wasn't showing up like he needed to. When I saw him up, I was mentally all ready to say goodbye. Then the home run came. I ended up jumping off my cough and doing a victory lap around the living room like I was running the bases. I then went and gave my Dad a huge hug. He had lost two huge Mets fans in his sister and brother-in-law. Now one year later, a moment that rewrote a player's legacy happened to our team. And if that wasn't enough, it was his birthday. Let's just say the rest of that night was special. And the series against the Phillies. I have a longstanding grudge against the Phillies back to the days of Rollins and Howard. Not just for being a division foe, but for at that point stealing the success that could been ours, that SHOULD'VE been ours. And the first head-to-head playoff matchup, needless to say, watching that series and those games was cathartic, and kind of magical. I thought they could have beaten the Dodgers, I really did. Beating the team that broke New York's heart, the team that is pretty much the reason the Mets franchise even exists, the team that broke my grandfather's heart many decades ago before he even had a wife and kids. That's the part of it that stung. Not losing to a vastly better team with some of the greatest players in the history of baseball, but the fact I thought they could have beat them. At least they fought, and made sure it wouldn't be won on our soil, but it didn't matter. Still was a better outcome than the Yankees winning. So that was a long rambling comment that most viewers will probably never fully read. But that is how the 2024 New York Mets affected me. Someone who had been waiting to feel this way about this team for a long time. It's a season that means more because of just what I had to go through the year before. This is a season that will always be special, even I see a hundred more Mets seasons, this one will never be replicated for me. How could it? All I can say is that despite all of this, I still miss them. Aunt Lisa, Uncle Craig, I still love you. And thanks for everything you did, in this world, and any other.

I was raised as a diehard mets fan, but took a break from baseball and didn’t care from 2017-2023. I’m also a girl, so take that as you will. Teenage years were busy man. This year, I decided it was a good time to get back to one of my favorite hobbies, watching baseball. Coming back into the scene as a mets fan in 2024 has been insane. It feels like I jumped on the train at the last second before it zipped off. i'm a diehard giants fan, but have a few friends who are mets fans so i kept tabs on them all season long. it went from getting texts that the season was dead and they were going to sell at the deadline to all caps message after all caps message that this team was doing something really special. i made sure to tune into game 161 in atlanta and thus began, hands down, the best week of non-giants baseball i've ever watched in my life. it felt like an oscar-winning movie. perfectly paced, lovable characters, redemption arcs, and the good guys always came through. the mets were far and away the best baseball story of 2024. thank you for preserving it so perfectly for mets fans and anyone who, like me, feels privileged to have witnessed even a small part of the magic. siri, play OMG.
Finally finished this thing. God, man. This is just incredible. I adore how you form narratives. Waiting until the last third to discuss Pete’s season was genius- waiting until the last three seconds to mention Soto even more so. Before I ramble on about my own connection to this team I want to make it known that this is an utterly fantastic piece of storytelling. So, after several months of having my world rocked again and again by this team, I was in attendance at game 5 of the NLCS. My dad came with me- he’s a lifelong Mets fan, and if you have a dad who’s a lifelong Mets fan you know that they carry a sort of unique trauma with them. This isn’t even really a joke. They all carry this deep exhaustion and fear with them when they go to the ballpark no matter how good the team’s doing, because God, man, they’re the METS. My dad and I pulled up to Citi knowing that it was an exceedingly likely possibility that we were about to watch our Mets get blown out and eliminated in 5; humiliated by the best team in baseball. They didn’t. Seriously, I left that ballpark feeling like the king of the fucking world. No needle or vial or powder in the world can give you the euphoria I felt heading down to the parking lot, shuffling through a sea of grown men crying tears of joy, chanting “METS IN SEVEN”. That was the most fun game of my entire life. Nothing can take that from me. I live in DC and don’t get to get out to Citi much, so it was unbelievably meaningful to be able to share that victory with thousands of other idiots just like me who, after watching this team perform miracle after miracle for six months, thought that maybe somehow they could pull through. You know the rest. We’re now a month away from pitchers and catchers and I’m still not ready to say goodbye to this team. I may never be able to say goodbye to this team. It hurts like hell knowing it won’t be the same, even if we’re as good or better this year. I mean, for god’s sake, we got Juan Soto. Even with a stacked NL, on paper, nothing is stopping us from having another deep playoff run. But will it feel the same? We aren’t the scrappy underdogs anymore. We’re just a good team. And sure, that’s fun too… but there’s been plenty of good teams in baseball history. Has there ever been a 2024 Mets?

Cannot for the life of me tell you how long I've been waiting since the season ended for someone to make a long essay video about this team that gave me such cheerful and emotional moments. I know this year's team won't be as fun to watch as last year's team was, but if anything it bridged the gap then to now as a team that has the resilience to fight and succeed. I'm excited as I possibly can be to one day see this team win it all when you remember how good these kinds of seasons can truly feel. I have 2 moments i wished you included. Cohen was having those media spots around june and there were reports that he gave them the reality if they didnt come around pete was going to be traded and they were going to majorly retool. The second is at the start of september the bullpen was very shaky and i will never forget snys gary cohen saying they need the relievers to reset and just take this month as an opportunity to pitch their best ball of the season. There was also several outlets including locked on mets saying all they need is a 5 or 6 game to stabilize and then they won 8. Best september we ever had. I am tearing up thinking about that double header.... Personally for me helene brought that moment and my new rescue dog who is a helene refugee. Should have called him OMG
"Since the last captain of the Mets left the team, third base had been a total void for them. No one had stepped up long term or really played all that well for more than a short spurt since." This phrase also applies to most of Mets history prior to David as well. It was almost a cursed position for them. Whenever they rarely had a good one, he either left, got injured or moved positions.
Phenomenal job on this video, encapsulating the unforgettable ride of the 2024 Mets. This season really ignited my love for this sport and developed a much deeper appreciation of the sport. I tried out fantasy baseball for the first time this season and wanted to see if I could get into watching baseball again, and what a year to come back to. Lindor breaking up the no-hitter will probably be one of my favorite memories from this season because of the circumstances I was in when it happened. I was driving around in my work vehicle and had been listening to the game on the radio through the MLB app. I had heard every moment of a truly disappointing offensive game, and was very ready for it to be over so I could put on some music. I had to enter a gated community right as the ninth inning began, so I turned the volume down (but not off) and rolled down the window to speak with the gate guard. While I’m waiting for them to confirm with the resident so I can enter, I hear a very quiet radio voice calling Lindor’s game-tying, no-hit-ending home run, and I can’t react or this gate guard might think I’m a crazy person. I’m blankly staring out the windshield and can barely acknowledge the guard when I’m finally allowed entry. Then they went on an offensive explosion and I was the happiest idiot at work for the rest of my shift. SRS team, thank you for another banger of a video. This one will always have a special place in my heart 💙🧡

At the end of the 2024 season, i didn't even think the mets could lose. I sat with my mom at the watch party, and i thought to myself, "They still have time." It didnt feel real until Alvys final out. This team was so special. I watched every single game this season, and it was magical.

My mom surprised me in school with tickets to NLCS Game 4. I had been to 3 regular season games before and they won 2 out of the 3 I had gone to. I cant describe the energy in the stadium for Lindor's walkup. The Mark Vientos homer in the 1st was probably the most electric I have seen Citi Field ever. So glad I was able to experience this insane season.
I got to be at NLDS Game 4; I'd never been to a clincher before. Words don't do it justice. If there was any other team in Mets history that gave this kind of tumultuous feeling I'd say maybe it's the 1999 edition, complete with an awful start, stunning turnaround, the last game of the year insanity, huge clutch playoff moments and the depths of heartbreak, but they were never as *weird* as the '24 guys were, and there's something so special about that.

As a Dodger fan, I gave my 100% respect for facing this team in the NLCS last year. They showed all their fight and heart in that series and the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. This proved that a team with those 2 things can accomplish anything no matter what outside voices say or how bleak a situation can be in the moment. They’re well on their way to challenging the Braves and Phillies for the NL East crown and perhaps the #2 seed in the playoffs. This could also perhaps lead to another memorable and hard fought NLCS rematch with my same Dodgers! Hope it goes 7 games! Great and very detailed video about this team! Ngl as a new Yankee in 2022 as bad I wanted Soto to be as a Yankee im happy for Soto i cant hate bcuz hes a generational hitter and with Mets they got everything to construct their roster years to come. In my 20 years on this planet, this is the best season of Mets baseball I have ever seen. I was in 5th grade during the 2015 World Series season and the magic behind this season was something completely different. As hard it was to watch the season end, the excitement for this coming season is the highest it has ever been for me. LFGM!
Grew up on Long Island went to many Mets game as a kid in the 2000s, wasn't really into baseball as a teen in 10's but this Mets team in 2024 has totally reignited my love for them and baseball itself, here's hoping to more successful years and playoff runs!

This was a fantastic video. As a Dodger fan I never knew much of the context behind the memes that made up the Mets run but found them likable and a fun squad. Tbh with Cohen and Stearns and the way things are going for the Mets they arent to dissimilar to how we were in the early 2010s before taking off. Same kinda vibes and energy. I do feel the Mets will be strong team moving forward with competent management. Soto and Lindor will be a threat
That 2024 Mets team had a crazy season for sure. No expectations and they nearly got to the WS after barely making the playoffs. The Mets scared the crap out of me in the NLCS especially in Games 3 & 4 where one or things could've swayed in the Mets' favor. I couldn't even laugh at them since they gave the Dodgers a run for their money despite the scoreline saying they got blown out. The NL let alone the NL East is gonna be fun to watch this year.

Man I don’t know what kind of coincidence that is but this season meant so much to me. My grandfather who was a lifelong Mets fan suddenly passed away over the course of a week in May. I wish he could’ve seen the run this team went on. 😢

I was in class watching on my computer when Lindor hit that homer in Atlanta to put us up to stay. The guest speaker was talking about something important and I had to mute my reaction so much it hurt. This season was incredible and I only wish I got to see them out in Citi Field live to see it happen. Hoping we can close to deal in 2025! LGM!!

Thank you for putting this together. I never felt more alive than in 2024 watching the Mets. To me, Vientos would have won NLCS MVP easily. Except there is some freaking Tommy Pham. The Dodgers were just too robotic it was like a 99 rating team in MLB the show vs a bunch of gold players.
I was at the concert game and it was probably some of the best vibes I've felt as a fan. Ironically I ended up getting a Vientos jersey at that game because I felt drawn to him after his call up walk off and then he just had such a killer season, I genuinely think he's one of the future faces of the team.
This was the most magical and fun Mets team I’ve ever seen. From Candelita to Grimace to my girl to the clutch postseason hits, this season was unforgettable. I’ll always love the 2024 Mets💙🧡
Been a fan since 1996. Seen some ups, a whole ton of downs, and plenty of embarrassment. Never in my life seen a season like the 2024 Mets. Very likely will never again. That 3 week run from Game 161 still feels like it didn't really happen. It's surreal. I keep watching highlights of it, I keep reading the IGTs for it. I fell in love with this sport and this team all over again.
What a great recap. I was visiting New York in late March/early April went to the Mets' Opening Day as well as couple of games when things were looking horrible for the Mets. Then I went back in July when things were looking up and went to a few games there. I was hoping to be able to go to a World Series game in Citi Fields, but alas the magic faded. Still a memorable season.

I went to the June 2nd game against the Diamondbacks on my birthday a couple days after the Jorge Lopez incident and it was very exciting until the 9th when Jake Diekman (what a mess he was to watch) was put in and blew a save on a homer to Ketel Marte. I was pretty much waiting for the trade deadline then. Everything went up from there in the best ways.
Huge Mets fan here, absolutely inhaling this. Already enjoying the writing, narration, and editing a ton, then I find out Sean Manaea likes MF Doom and I get even happier.

I didn't end up watching that as I had other things that day.
So the Mets beat the Brewers in Game 1. Also Jesse Winker clearly hadn't let go of his beef with the Brewers. Thankfully nothing too stupid came out of it. Game 2, was crushing but I believed in Game 3. Offense fails to show up, down 2-0, here comes Pete. I should mention that throughout the season, my parents (who I was watching this game with), had been very critical of Pete's performance and how he wasn't showing up like he needed to. When I saw him up, I was mentally all ready to say goodbye. Then the home run came. I ended up jumping off my cough and doing a victory lap around the living room like I was running the bases. I then went and gave my Dad a huge hug. He had lost two huge Mets fans in his sister and brother-in-law. Now one year later, a moment that rewrote a player's legacy happened to our team. And if that wasn't enough, it was his birthday. Let's just say the rest of that night was special. And the series against the Phillies. I have a longstanding grudge against the Phillies back to the days of Rollins and Howard. Not just for being a division foe, but for at that point stealing the success that could been ours, that SHOULD'VE been ours. And the first head-to-head playoff matchup, needless to say, watching that series and those games was cathartic, and kind of magical.
I thought they could have beaten the Dodgers, I really did. Beating the team that broke New York's heart, the team that is pretty much the reason the Mets franchise even exists, the team that broke my grandfather's heart many decades ago before he even had a wife and kids. That's the part of it that stung. Not losing to a vastly better team with some of the greatest players in the history of baseball, but the fact I thought they could have beat them. At least they fought, and made sure it wouldn't be won on our soil, but it didn't matter. Still was a better outcome than the Yankees winning.
So that was a long rambling comment that most viewers will probably never fully read. But that is how the 2024 New York Mets affected me. Someone who had been waiting to feel this way about this team for a long time. It's a season that means more because of just what I had to go through the year before. This is a season that will always be special, even I see a hundred more Mets seasons, this one will never be replicated for me. How could it? All I can say is that despite all of this, I still miss them. Aunt Lisa, Uncle Craig, I still love you. And thanks for everything you did, in this world, and any other.

I was raised as a diehard mets fan, but took a break from baseball and didn’t care from 2017-2023. I’m also a girl, so take that as you will. Teenage years were busy man. This year, I decided it was a good time to get back to one of my favorite hobbies, watching baseball. Coming back into the scene as a mets fan in 2024 has been insane. It feels like I jumped on the train at the last second before it zipped off. Thank you for making this very entertaining video, people like you are the reason im finding myself so happy getting back into baseball.
This is a masterpiece of a video to highlight the absolute insanity that this season was as a Mets fan. We rarely get to have fun watching this franchise play but man this past season was so damn fun. Truly had me feeling like a little kid again watching their games and gave me so many awesome memories.
i'm a diehard giants fan, but have a few friends who are mets fans so i kept tabs on them all season long. it went from getting texts that the season was dead and they were going to sell at the deadline to all caps message after all caps message that this team was doing something really special. i made sure to tune into game 161 in atlanta and thus began, hands down, the best week of non-giants baseball i've ever watched in my life. it felt like an oscar-winning movie. perfectly paced, lovable characters, redemption arcs, and the good guys always came through.
the mets were far and away the best baseball story of 2024. thank you for preserving it so perfectly for mets fans and anyone who, like me, feels privileged to have witnessed even a small part of the magic. siri, play OMG.

God, man. This is just incredible. I adore how you form narratives. Waiting until the last third to discuss Pete’s season was genius- waiting until the last three seconds to mention Soto even more so. Before I ramble on about my own connection to this team I want to make it known that this is an utterly fantastic piece of storytelling.
So, after several months of having my world rocked again and again by this team, I was in attendance at game 5 of the NLCS. My dad came with me- he’s a lifelong Mets fan, and if you have a dad who’s a lifelong Mets fan you know that they carry a sort of unique trauma with them. This isn’t even really a joke. They all carry this deep exhaustion and fear with them when they go to the ballpark no matter how good the team’s doing, because God, man, they’re the METS.
My dad and I pulled up to Citi knowing that it was an exceedingly likely possibility that we were about to watch our Mets get blown out and eliminated in 5; humiliated by the best team in baseball.
They didn’t.
Seriously, I left that ballpark feeling like the king of the fucking world. No needle or vial or powder in the world can give you the euphoria I felt heading down to the parking lot, shuffling through a sea of grown men crying tears of joy, chanting “METS IN SEVEN”. That was the most fun game of my entire life. Nothing can take that from me. I live in DC and don’t get to get out to Citi much, so it was unbelievably meaningful to be able to share that victory with thousands of other idiots just like me who, after watching this team perform miracle after miracle for six months, thought that maybe somehow they could pull through. You know the rest.
We’re now a month away from pitchers and catchers and I’m still not ready to say goodbye to this team. I may never be able to say goodbye to this team. It hurts like hell knowing it won’t be the same, even if we’re as good or better this year.
I mean, for god’s sake, we got Juan Soto. Even with a stacked NL, on paper, nothing is stopping us from having another deep playoff run. But will it feel the same? We aren’t the scrappy underdogs anymore. We’re just a good team. And sure, that’s fun too… but there’s been plenty of good teams in baseball history. Has there ever been a 2024 Mets?

I know this year's team won't be as fun to watch as last year's team was, but if anything it bridged the gap then to now as a team that has the resilience to fight and succeed. I'm excited as I possibly can be to one day see this team win it all when you remember how good these kinds of seasons can truly feel. I see the 2024 season similar to the 1984 season, both Mets teams fell short, but you can see the potential and the greatness to come.
I have 2 moments i wished you included. Cohen was having those media spots around june and there were reports that he gave them the reality if they didnt come around pete was going to be traded and they were going to majorly retool.
The second is at the start of september the bullpen was very shaky and i will never forget snys gary cohen saying they need the relievers to reset and just take this month as an opportunity to pitch their best ball of the season. There was also several outlets including locked on mets saying all they need is a 5 or 6 game to stabilize and then they won 8. Best september we ever had. I am tearing up thinking about that double header....
Personally for me helene brought that moment and my new rescue dog who is a helene refugee. Should have called him OMG
"Since the last captain of the Mets left the team, third base had been a total void for them. No one had stepped up long term or really played all that well for more than a short spurt since." This phrase also applies to most of Mets history prior to David as well. It was almost a cursed position for them. Whenever they rarely had a good one, he either left, got injured or moved positions.

Phenomenal job on this video, encapsulating the unforgettable ride of the 2024 Mets. This season really ignited my love for this sport and developed a much deeper appreciation of the sport. I tried out fantasy baseball for the first time this season and wanted to see if I could get into watching baseball again, and what a year to come back to. I'm seriously itching for baseball season to come around. Hopefully I'll get to catch a spring training game.

Lindor breaking up the no-hitter will probably be one of my favorite memories from this season because of the circumstances I was in when it happened.
I was driving around in my work vehicle and had been listening to the game on the radio through the MLB app. I had heard every moment of a truly disappointing offensive game, and was very ready for it to be over so I could put on some music.
I had to enter a gated community right as the ninth inning began, so I turned the volume down (but not off) and rolled down the window to speak with the gate guard. While I’m waiting for them to confirm with the resident so I can enter, I hear a very quiet radio voice calling Lindor’s game-tying, no-hit-ending home run, and I can’t react or this gate guard might think I’m a crazy person. I’m blankly staring out the windshield and can barely acknowledge the guard when I’m finally allowed entry.
Then they went on an offensive explosion and I was the happiest idiot at work for the rest of my shift.

At the end of the 2024 season, i didn't even think the mets could lose. I sat with my mom at the watch party, and i thought to myself, "They still have time." It didnt feel real until Alvys final out. This team was so special.

My mom surprised me in school with tickets to NLCS Game 4. I had been to 3 regular season games before and they won 2 out of the 3 I had gone to. I cant describe the energy in the stadium for Lindor's walkup. The Mark Vientos homer in the 1st was probably the most electric I have seen Citi Field ever. So glad I was able to experience this insane season.
I got to be at NLDS Game 4; I'd never been to a clincher before. Words don't do it justice. If there was any other team in Mets history that gave this kind of tumultuous feeling I'd say maybe it's the 1999 edition, complete with an awful start, stunning turnaround, the last game of the year insanity, huge clutch playoff moments and the depths of heartbreak, but they were never as *weird* as the '24 guys were, and there's something so special about that.

As a Dodger fan, I gave my 100% respect for facing this team in the NLCS last year. They showed all their fight and heart in that series and the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. This proved that a team with those 2 things can accomplish anything no matter what outside voices say or how bleak a situation can be in the moment. They’re well on their way to challenging the Braves and Phillies for the NL East crown and perhaps the #2 seed in the playoffs. This could also perhaps lead to another memorable and hard fought NLCS rematch with my same Dodgers! Hope it goes 7 games! Great and very detailed video about this team! I was in 5th grade during the 2015 World Series season and the magic behind this season was something completely different. As hard it was to watch the season end, the excitement for this coming season is the highest it has ever been for me. LFGM!

This was a fantastic video. As a Dodger fan I never knew much of the context behind the memes that made up the Mets run but found them likable and a fun squad. Tbh with Cohen and Stearns and the way things are going for the Mets they arent to dissimilar to how we were in the early 2010s before taking off. Same kinda vibes and energy. I do feel the Mets will be strong team moving forward with competent management. Soto and Lindor will be a threat
That 2024 Mets team had a crazy season for sure. No expectations and they nearly got to the WS after barely making the playoffs. The Mets scared the crap out of me in the NLCS especially in Games 3 & 4 where one or things could've swayed in the Mets' favor. I couldn't even laugh at them since they gave the Dodgers a run for their money despite the scoreline saying they got blown out.
The NL let alone the NL East is gonna be fun to watch this year.

Man I don’t know what kind of coincidence that is but this season meant so much to me. My grandfather who was a lifelong Mets fan suddenly passed away over the course of a week in May. I wish he could’ve seen the run this team went on. 😢

To me, Vientos would have won NLCS MVP easily. Except there is some freaking Tommy Pham. The Dodgers were just too robotic it was like a 99 rating team in MLB the show vs a bunch of gold players.

I was at the concert game and it was probably some of the best vibes I've felt as a fan. Ironically I ended up getting a Vientos jersey at that game because I felt drawn to him after his call up walk off and then he just had such a killer season, I genuinely think he's one of the future faces of the team.
This was the most magical and fun Mets team I’ve ever seen. From Candelita to Grimace to my girl to the clutch postseason hits, this season was unforgettable. I’ll always love the 2024 Mets💙🧡

Never in my life seen a season like the 2024 Mets. Very likely will never again. That 3 week run from Game 161 still feels like it didn't really happen. It's surreal. I keep watching highlights of it, I keep reading the IGTs for it. I fell in love with this sport and this team all over again.

What a great recap. I was visiting New York in late March/early April went to the Mets' Opening Day as well as couple of games when things were looking horrible for the Mets. Then I went back in July when things were looking up and went to a few games there. I was hoping to be able to go to a World Series game in Citi Fields, but alas the magic faded. Still a memorable season.

I went to the June 2nd game against the Diamondbacks on my birthday a couple days after the Jorge Lopez incident and it was very exciting until the 9th when Jake Diekman (what a mess he was to watch) was put in and blew a save on a homer to Ketel Marte. I was pretty much waiting for the trade deadline then. Everything went up from there in the best ways.
