- Gameplay of me playing the Adam Smasher fight using the mod "Enemies of Nightcity". With this mod Adam is a true menace and lives up to his name. But even Adam is no match for the greatest Merc in all of Nightcity.

I only just now learnt you can do a stealth takedown of Adam Smasher and it's _really_ humiliating. It involves V doing things like stealing his grenades and dropping it into his body.
Imagine some merc just being a complete rat and just pulling on your wires and fucking with you using pranks and winning.
Edgerunners Adam Smasher and end game 2.0 V would basically have a futuristic Dragon Ball Z fight around Night City.

V is literally stronger than Adam Smasher whether you use the anime or game version. I don't know why y'all cope that Anime Adam Smasher is making a difference against a dying V that can even use a dildo to obliterate Adam Smasher, it's just not fair, you're better off comparing Morgan Blackhand to Adam Smasher, David has literally abilities Adam Smasher doesn't have yet still lost, V was dying like D yet without an exoskeletonhe outright obliterated smasher, V is just that OP, whether you like or not, there's a reason why he's considered a greater legend.
Adam Smasher wasn't even nerfed in the game, nor buffed in the anime, it's just that when it comes to characters like V, Smasher is just a minor inconvenience to his story.

I read a Cyberpunk fic a few months ago that went fairly in depth with the borg fights and something really cool that happens there is the Sandevistan Mexican Standoffs.
Sandevistans are COMPLETELY busted in a fight so in the fic both parties pay the MOST attention to when the other party is gonna use the Sandy since they gotta INSTANTLY activate their own to be able to counter it and i thought that shit was cool as fuck
One thing I really loved about the edge runner show and the 2.0 update is that when they showed off David using the Sandy and the other guy activates his, it was a tense moment before David instantly went OP on him lol

Yeah. The build on V on this playthrough was quite literally busted with thousands perk points spent in total. And even tho i had the Enemies of Nightcity mod, i turned down Smashers health for a "smoother" and faster video experience. I plan on making a video where his health is much higher so that Shortcircuit won't clear an entire stage of his health.
Yeah short circuit is busted, specially the legendary one, which makes you proc it every time your weapon crits. I don't know who thought that was balanced haha.

if you kill him, Arasaka will just remake his psyche with the relic. But if you leave him alive, then unbeknowst to Arasaka, a tiny crack has formed in their top killer: Smasher is forced to go on knowing he ONLY lives because of mercy. And that is a truth that connot be undone.

Fun fact, Adam Smasher in the TTRPG is its “rock fall, everyone dies” analog. He’s Arasaka’s nuclear option, so to speak, and him showing up is treated as much of a threat to the players as a Tarrasque appearing or the Antediluvians waking up.

Yeah, I'm somewhat disappointed he was basically the final boss of the game because of that, especially because people find him so easy to beat, it's led to a lot of new players to the ttrpg not understanding the threat Adam Smasher is

Shit OG satori with a good sandy literally zeroed smasher before he could even react i remember taking him out before my sandy even ended. They definitely seemed to have boosted him up after 2.0 but they also mega nerfed satori no more 100,000 crits like before but

I like the attention of detail that Short Circuit does crit damage to robots/mechs. Which Adam is 90% cyberware. Makes sense he'd take a huge chunk of health off after that. Arasaka's best bodyguard vs basic default grade hack.
Whilst it somewhat makes sense, Adam still wasn't supposed to lose THAT much health from quick hacks. It's probably due to the fact that V in the playthrough i made this video in was completely maxed out with thousands of perk points spent in total.

I feel like Adam would have some pretty hefty ICE in his system. You would have to be a pretty good netrunner to short circuit his cyberware.
@@jlynn9730 Indeed. Quick hacking him on the fly would be extremely difficult, even for a good runner. Even Lucy, who is clearly a very good Netrunner couldn't do anything.
@@jlynn9730 yeah plus at this point it's likely there is still a den of arasaka netrunners somewhere providing him with hacking support. theoretically you'd have to break through all of their ICE to get to smasher, and then he'll have his own custom ICE to break through. It would be a small QoL change to show the hack breaking through multiple layers of ICE with the animation and taking much longer. Lore accurate V is probably the best quickhack runner in NC, so cyberware malfunction or short circuit should wreck a significant part of smasher's health, but it definitely should take awhile to get there
@@interwebs_smasher would likely have separate firewalls for each piece of cyberware setup so that any successful breach would be stopped in the effected cyberware and purged as it breaks thus minimizing the potential damage

It's very scary how Adam Smasher is running faster than you and leaving a trace of death and destruction as he passes by, while you are just killing some ninjas in your way while running away from him, this feels like a horror game, well, playing light tanks near heavy tanks in war thunder too, but here the big guy is also faster than you
yeah lore wise Smasher was always the most powerful character in the cyberpunk universe before V was introduced. technically, V could have very little cyberware and still rival smasher (like Morgan Blackhand) or be chromed to the teeth without risk of cyberpsychosis thanks to the relic chip. I'm the GM in a cyberpunk RED ttrpg game, and the group has gotten *really* strong. so to take them down a peg I'm going to drop them into a situation where smasher and lore accurate V travel back in time to fight them lol

@@talacra even in that mission V is able to handle blackwall hacks as a secondary netrunner when so mi needs them. After it wiped a dedicated voodoo netrunner in a den. Lore wise V is probably the best runner behind so mi in the CP universe

@@Thorax7x686 The only way to get this ending is to have a high friendship meter with Johnny and to have chosen very specific dialogue at the end of Chippin' In. (Don't Fear) The Reaper ending will have two outcomes depending on what the player chooces. You can either choose the Path of Glory ending or a variation of the Temperance ending. Either you keep the body to which Johnny is fine with it or V gives their body to Johnny which Johnny slightly disapproves of, but accepts.
Of course he uses a sandevistan. It's a rudimental cyberware.

Honestly. Don't have that much of a clue. I don't think i have any mod that let's you make quick hacks so powerful. Tho if i had to guess the mod "Enemies of Nightcity" let's you bypass certain damage gaps.
Plus my V in this playthrough has just about thousands of perk points spent so some categories are incredibly busted, like Cold Blood.
@@zakk3le598 Thousands of perk points, that's prolly the reason lol. I specifically designed Smasher to have a max damage cap and removed his short circuit weakspot.

I did lower his health for this fight from 6 to 3 as i wanted a quick and smooth fight for this TH-cam video.
Edit: Possibly even down to 2. The Smasher fight with all max stats was actually insane. Did take me a couple of tries even with this build that is basically cheating at this point lmao.

@@shine02315Yeah i was disappointed that people weren't posting that many gameplay videos of this mod. The regular gang fights, cyberpsycho and especially the boss fights are incredibly fun and challenging with this mod.

absolutely nutty, the fight we should have had. whenever i think of my dislike for rpg shooters, as much as i love 2077, this fight in vanilla is what i generally think of.
It’s a shame cause this game really has all it needs mechanics wise for badass boss fights. They’ve heard this I bet though so maybe the next game will be the best of both worlds
Yeah, i will admit that even though i died a few times to him, it was pretty simple to beat him. Just get a few hits in, air dash around, sandevistan to get some more hits in, repeat.

I notice a lot of people use a pistol, which kind bugs me, it makes so much more physics sense to use a assault rifle or a high powe rifle. But gameplay balance and rule of cool

Tbh Johnny's pistol is more of a cannon in lore. It packs a lot more punch than a lot of rifles and shotguns. Only reason Johnny can shoot it is because of his hand that handles the recoil.

is it really canon that V is the greatest merc ever, far surpassing even legendary solos like morgan blackhand?
It's very likely that Morgan Blackhand is still the "Solo's Solo". V is undeniably one of the best Mercs to have lived in the Cyberpunk universe thus far, but probably not 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘴𝘵. Some believe that V still shouldn't be able beat Smasher despite the kind of Merc V has been established as. If i had to guess Morgan is still better than V, at least when it comes to skills and experience. Hopefully we'll see the legendary Solo in action some day.

@@zakk3le598 Well V hasn't had any experience in the game shows that he weak, almost anyone can beat him, but after bullet in the head he becomes slain machine, which just looks ridiculous.
Also Smasher, well he in the game looks even worse, in lore he is machine which brings death, in Edgerunners he using tons of implants, one of the best netrunners cannot hack him, but in the game he just walking peace of can, who died by dildo, bare fists or hacking to death, and a lot of says that's a canon.
I hoping it's not canon and what's going on in the game it's just alternative reality.
plot armor and gameplay reasons... lorewise morgan blackhand took more than few years to become a NC legend in late '10s despite being a trained super soldier with countless military ops under his belt... V begins from a random merc to top solo in less than 2 months despite being in critical conditions... 🤦🏻♂
keep also in mind that V is a mindless happy trigger solo while morgan blackhand was more like agent 47... he was able to accomplish his tasks without a bloodshed and most of times working behind the scenes, that's why he was the best among the best.

Kinda crazy how this legendary figure who puts fear into others and was a well known character ever since the Tabletop Game in 1989 is then finally taken down by this new character called V, and she eventually becomes basically the idol of Cyberpunk aside from Johnny Silverhand

With some mods Smasher lives up to his legendary NC Boogeyman title.
on very hard and if you don't absolutely max out every stat/don't use multiple operating systems etc. smasher is a beast

I guess the fight would be very short but insanely intense. When you are messing with powers of that potency all you need to do is get caught once and it’s over. You would want to strike first and hard and end the battle as quickly as possible to minimise risk
I remember in the tabletop with my players, inspired by the anime, I simultaneously buffed and nerfed the sandevistan. Basically did an overhaul of that implant. Now if you activated you get twice your usual mobility and bonus on all your actions because theoretically, you are moving faster than a bullet. But also punish them whenever they forgot they where, in fact, moving faster than a bullet.
Player: So I jump towards
Me: Neat, you are now, floating above ground unable to move from your perspective. What do you do while you wait to finally land? in, let me check, a couple of minutes.
Player: So I shoot my gun
Me: neat. The hammer in your gun is still moving, it will take a while before it hits the primer, maybe half an hour from your perspective. Anything else you wanna do?
The idea was that, if the sandevistan allowed you to move faster than bullets, then everything seems to be moving slower while is actually happening. The hammer on a gun will not reach the primer after you hit the trigger, you will not reach the ground after jumping, your other implants will take ages to deploy properly. It requires thought and consideration before use.
Some weapons in cyberpunk do not have a hammer, for example, some types of rifles are specially designed for max Tech, so that they can use them while in slomo. Just moving at the speed of a bullet, you will also maintain momentum during jumps, jumps will not make you hang in the air, you are not tied to the ground
The only thing that can be implemented as a punishment is if you run into a wall under the influence of sandevistan, then you can be flattened, as well as any interaction with small dense objects in the air can punch a hole in you, but this cannot be done in mode.
@@AnimanGod gravity doesn't become quicker with you. You will be falling still at the usual 9'14 meters per second. So yes, you will be stuck mid air. And weapons that don't require hammers, unless they are shooting the bullet also faster, will be then stuck in the barrel while you move. I get that you maintain momentum, but that will only make you move farther before getting stuck. There where ways to circumvent this issues. Guns with no hammers with ultra fast rounds, ejectors to move in the air mid-jump and implants that deployed instantly. But all of those required to build yourself around the use of a sandevistan. If you are going to use it, all of your next purchases would be determined by its presence. It was a steep investment.
@@gantzllat Gravity is gravity, but acceleration depends on the applied force. If I let go of a pebble from my hand without exerting extra effort, it will fall slower than if I threw it with force.
According to your logic, if we shoot from a pistol, then the bullet speed will be equal to 9.8 meters per second ^ 2, instead of 1000-1500 meters per second?
@@AnimanGod the only force that can make you airborne is an upward force, so the pebble example is asinine unless you are suggesting to hand of god will push you down after jumping. And gravity acceleration is different from momentum, so the bullet example doesn't work either because the bullet is also falling. At this point I have to guess you are being intentionally difficult or debilitatingly stupid because is really not a difficult concept to understand.

I went with a Street Kid V. During the run i maxed out V completely.

@@durdygirdy I've always preferred Street Kid over the other life paths. Street Kid just feels more "Cyberpunk" to me and CDPR themselves have stated that the Street Kid is the "canon" life path.

@@Freedomerider The entire game was promoted around male Street Lid V and for Phantom Liberty Street Kid female V was the main focus. Male V is supposedly the canon V in the Cyberpunk universe. I suppose you could say there isn't a true "canon" V since V is supposed to be the vessel that the player creates and controls. Even when looking at the games intro montage and how V meets Jackie it becomes quite evident that Street Kid V is the meant to be the right interpretation of V.

Not gonna lie, cyberpunk is a beautiful looking game. Been sitting on my shelf since it came out. Am defiantly rely gonna give it a go now that it has all its patches on my ps5😎😝🤘
I have always intended to go into this fight with no armor mods whatsoever. If the gameplay isn't suited for making Adam Smasher more reactive in combat, then the threat of insta-death will make any lull in combat (even for mere moments) just enough breathing room to keep the tension up.
the implant that makes you auto-use your equipped healing item is such a fucking nightmare in this mission. It took me 6 or so attempts to pretty much navigate the fight almost entirely without being hit because I started with under 50% health, so zero "on-demand" healing items, and only a little reprieve when I swapped from flat health to bounce-back.

1:22 -1:35 is the most lore accurate part imo, V taking out the Saka ninjas by using the sandevistan so he can focus on Adam seems most in line with V, whilst Adam just absolutely demolishing the balcony behind him not caring if the ninjas die by his missiles or V’s blades is most in line with Adam.
I thought Lore accurate V was a Mantis Bladed Netrunner, theres a good amount of dialogue in the game that suggests he uses Mantis Blades and is a pretty good netrunner, like when V meets Nix and intervenes during the Aldecaldo and Wraiths business deal. It would be cool if dialogue had variants depending on what Chrome you got, like the Projectile Launch System barely got any love in the game 😭 although it did get a cool spotlight in Edgerunners. Theres one line only that i can think of that can be interpreted as V threatening to use his arm canon, and its when you enter El Coyote for that cheaters side quest lol but its most likely that he was threatening to shoot the goons that were making a fuss which is still cool cause i like playing Cowboy V so, i interpret it as either i’ll quickdraw you faster than you can react or i can activate my arm canon before you react.

There is no lore for V he’s a blank slate character we are the ones who add in his character traits with our gameplay, I could go through the game killing as little people as possible and never fire one gunshot and call that my “lore accurate V” video and wouldn’t make a difference.

To be fair he’s supposed to be using the Dai Oni hardsuit in lore during the assault on the tower. But also his body here is related to one of the full body conversion hardsuits from the TT I just forgot the name.

From the perspective of an American: 60-70 years ago, the average American family could live comfortably off of the salary of the father, which typically allowed the mother to stay home and care for children. This meant they could have more children because at least one parent could always be around to watch over the children.
Nowadays, to make enough money to live off of, both parents have to work. That means that there's less time to spend with the children, which means things like daycares, which are very expensive. This expense leads to even more financial insecurity, resulting in even less available time and money to watch over and provide for children.
On top of that, the cost of living has been steadily increasing faster than salaries have increased, and there are more and more expenses every year to manage.
On top of *that,* there's been a complete cultural shift away from the family unit, emphasizing the self and self fulfillment over having a family and raising children. I'm all for self fulfillment, but individualism has taken complete center stage in most Western societies. It's resulted in a lot of core values, a lot of which tend to push people towards having more children, degrading over time.

Realistically speaking you would need the Basilisk to wear him down or distract him and the most powerful Tsunami sniper rifle to penetrate his armor, even this zippy version of smasher looks heavily nerfed compared to real thing, thing still hits like a truck XD.
I was still testing the waters with this fight/video. I plan on making a video where i won't use any cyberdeck and Smasher's health will be a lot higher. In the mean time i suggest you watch this video.

In my playthrough after getting a certain build and completing most sidequests pretty mutch everyone,Smasher included were like NPCs.
Its like i myself have to try and make this fight cool because on its own it was pretty underwhelming
Even after update 2.0 Smasher is lame as fu*k, the modders did justice to Smasher, he has to be a threat and not just some random NPC with a lot of HP

My v went full on samurai during this fight sliding past smasher slashing him to bits just after she won whipped out a gold bat and smashed him in the face

Beserk with triple beast mode mods turned you into a blender. Remember just rushing him at the start and dicing him in less then 5 seconds.
Doing a new Samurai melee playthrough now with the full 2.0 and phantom liberty, wonder how ill fair against him this time...

Lore accurate Cyberpunk is you cannot heal. You can only heal once but you need a MedTech with you.

At the time i was using a mod that allowed you to use two operating systems at the same time. The mod has since been discontinued, but the mod Cyberware-EX allows you to do this as well.

Essentially a 20, 20, 20, 20, 20 max attribute build with thousands of perk points spent in total. This specific V has all legendary cyberware and a really punchy Malorian 3516.

I feel like people don't know what lore accurate Adam smasher is lol. He's not just the guy at the end of the anime.
In the TTRPG Adam smasher was the unbeatable game ender. He was that games equivalent of " rocks fall, everyone dies" if you had an OP crew of players that had max tac level gear and OP feats. You sent in smasher to kill them all.
Whilst this is true. It wouldn't make for a very good gameplay experience. I suppose Mike Pondsmith was just ahead of his time.

So weird how adam didnt have a sandy in the game but in the anime he says its a rudimentary implant
Technically as of Patch 2.0 Adam "has" a Sandy, tho more specifically he has a mechanic that imitates a Sandy. And he only uses it when the player is using their Sandy.
I don't know anything about game develoment, but if i had to guess implementing a mod like Enemies of Night City wouldn't be as easy as it for us to install mods. Since a lot of things go into making a boss fight. And of course a boss needs to be beatable by all kinds of players.
It would've been cool if Smasher functioned in the same way MaxTac do meaning that Smasher's difficulty is always set to Very Hard no matter the game difficulty. And had more abilities like in this mod.

Yes. It's called Enemies of Night City. It's a great mod and really makes the bosses dangerous and combat overall better. It's yet to be updated to 2.02, but the author is working on it.

I've done a pacifist walkthrough, but sparing Smasher means another chance for 'Saka or other corp to rebuild him, and he will definitely kill even more people, innocent or not. So the only person my V has ever murdered is him. Just to save hundreds or thousand lives.
