Have you ever tried Peerless? It's one of the few that doesn't water down their product after it comes out of the barrel aged. You get what you get in small batch goodness the way it was supposed to be enjoyed.
Nice job Chad! I think you were very restrained with all the great options available. This was the first KFB for my wife and I and we came home with 29 bottles! 😮 We bumped into you in the dinner line at Bourbon in the Air… great meeting you both in person! As always, we enjoy your bourbon hunting / bottle haul videos.

Y'all talking about the Elijah Craig 18 reminded me of my family's running joke when we bought a bunch of items at the grocery store or out shopping was, "Look, all these items would have cost more, but we got them on sale. We didn't spend a bunch of money, we SAVED a bunch of money. LOOK HOW MUCH MONEY WE SAVED!"
Oh my god, the best Four Roses Single Barrel bottle I've ever had was a warehouse NS and I've been looking for another one ever since. Not kidding when I say it was like drinking melted vanilla ice cream. Obviously that was just the standard single barrel, so I'm sure yours will be even better.

We had a great haul at the bourbon festival as well. I did see you walking around Thursday. Too shy to say hello. I was in line at 4 roses 40 minutes and we started in front of the Kentucky owl tent. I hope it was worth it. My first time at the festival it was a great trip.
Sad we missed you this year. We picked up a few things from the festival as well and stopped by Evergreen to grab the Pursuit United Bourbon Festival pick as well as the EJ Curley Single Barrel!
Old Louisville is amazing. It landed in Alaska recently.

KBF Heaven Hill had Select Stock 8yr Rye and the 13yr bourbon on Sunday. Missed the Rye by about 8 spots but was able to get the 13 yr.

Hey great haul. I had the pleaure of meeting you both there on Friday morning. You both where so nice. One of my favorite moments of the weekend. SO thank you. I think you guys didn't do so bad with price. I was amazed how many hard to find bottles where available. A lot of thinks I never see in my area. So I will plan better for next year. cheers.
I’m so glad there are more 2XO offerings on the way. I liked the Phoenix blend and the Inkeeper’s blend, and although they don’t seem to be in Colorado shelves, the online sellers don’t Jack the price up above retail (so far).
Great Video!! That was an incredible haul of Bourbon!! I was in Kentucky Monday through Wednesday that week. I didn't know it was Bourbon week until my wife and I got there. I missed out on some good places as they were closed on Monday and Tuesday. I bought a few bottles at the Blind Pig. I mentioned to the guy working there that I found that place because of your channel. I actually went to three or four places because of your channel. Keep up the good work. I plan on being in Bardstown next year for Bourbon weekend.

Fun video but it would have been nice to see video of the actual festival. One other thing, I wear headphones and there is a very odd sounding part of the music that keeps looping for the first half of the video. It sounds like a didgeridoo. Once I heard it, I could not unhear it lol.

Long time listener, and I so hope I get a chance to visit Kentucky's premier bourbon festival. Having burned through a shocking amount on my first foray through the bourbon multiverse recently, I feel Chad's alpha dog tendencies and Sara's fiscally sane leash. The Yin and Yang of this is part of what makes your podcast mystically superior to all others. But thanks to allies who stand in long lines and still hook you up

Did Heavenhill increase the price on EC18? I found a bottle about a year or two ago for $140.

Heaven Hill has consistently charged much more for the EC18 than the typical MSRP. I got a bottle last year at a grocery store for 144 out the door, and at that time, HH gift shop was still charging around 190.

Sell that 18y EC, and recoup some $. It is not worth drinking imo. So disappointed by it.
If you still have an open bottle of EC18, I'd recommend blending it with some mediocre ECBP or ECPBBP bottles. I blend about 1/5 EC18 to 4/5 ECPBBP and it's actually amazing how well they blend together.
