If you’re hating on Andy, you kinda don’t belong here. I’m totally taking five bottles of bourbon. I’ve dismissed and throwing them in the freezer. Do whatever you want to your bourbon, it’s your bourbon. What a great episode. 🙌🏼👏🏼
Wouldn’t do it to bourbon if all things but any other distilled spirits sure, some bourbon gets super gross if you freeze it and most times you don’t actually get the real flavor if they are stuck in a freezer. To each their own though. Me personally I like to drink my bourbon neat and would rather have it at room temperature.
I agree its your add ice or not, mix or not, you paid for it. I tried the bourbon in the freezer to not need ice but it go so thick I didn't like the "drinkablity" of it afterwards I rather the more "runny" texture of my bourbon non freezer kept but its yours do what you want.
One of your best episodes I've seen. And to quote the philosophy of another channel, "The best whiskey is the whiskey you like, the way you like to drink it." There is no right or wrong way for YOU to enjoy YOUR whiskey.

@@thomasanderson2870 I love how he gives away all the local spots so when you get off work and go to pick up a bottle their all gone cause this guy came and made a stupid video there he's screwing over the "regular guys" who buy bourbon/whiskey dipshets
This was such a genuine interaction with Andy. He just showed up to browse some bourbons after watching one of your videos, expanding his taste a bit, and boom, meets you doing a video. It's nice to see that he has a system that works for him & what he likes, not just because it's what everyone else is doing. He likes it in the freezer & fridge as a refreshing bourbon to have, probably after a days work, and I still find that very respectable. Cool garage too. Great vid ultimately.
You are so right! Jimmy Russell master distiller of wild turkey says his favorite way is to keep a bottle in the freezer and sip neat on the front porch
@brewzle This video was one of the better ones you've put out. I'm glad you finally took a bit of a stance about whiskey pricing and secondary. It's not the job of a store to gouge shoppers. I 100% don't mind paying a small premium for a hard to source bottle. When you get to know store owners/managers you learn how annoying it is for them to obtain these allocated bottles and it's totally fair for them to want a little more margin - as long as they are getting it into the hands of their customers. The best part about bourbon is sharing your bottles, IMO. It's nice to own a bunch of stuff, but it's better to share it with people. It's like having a pool. A pool is nice. A pool party is far more fun. I also appreciate your comments on finished whiskey - because I've been soapboxing that same point for the past year. A finished bourbon is usually just a wasted bourbon IMO. Finishing a bad bourbon to mask that it is bad or young is akin to flavoring whiskey. Here's why... bourbon doesn't take on the notes of most wine finishes very well. It's just not complimentary. On the other hand, a bourbon finished in honey or maple often just over amplifies that note which is already present in a decent bourbon. Most times you are decreasing the complexity of the bourbon by adding a finish or you are burying the inherit flavors of a bourbon. There are two finishes I like on bourbon - double oak (but only a few of them are good IMO), or a rye barrel finish (because I like rye). Rye and single malts are very different though. Rye is a much stronger grain flavor and you can add more complexity with a wine, rum, honey, or maple finish. Some of my favorite bottles are finished RY3 releases. Rye also takes to a double oaking far better than bourbon, IMO. American Single malts, Scotch, Irish, and etc take well to finishing by nature. Those whiskies then to be low complexity and take very well to a secondary, or full maturation, in a used cask. A good PX finished Scotch can be great. To me... avoid anything finished in Port. I feel like Port has become to goto wet ass barrel to use if your whiskey is horrible. You throw it in a barrel with a little (or a lot) of port still sloshing around inside and you charge a hefty price. MWND is the most well known offender but I know many smaller brands do that same thing. I've actually talked to a master distiller at a craft shop and he admitted that 100% they throw their bad barrels into a port finish to salvage their bad whiskey... and then charge 2x what they charge for the good barrels.
Dont hate on bourbon out of the freezer. Many of the old timers do this. I would consider myself an old timer. You get to drink it neat and cold. And then experience the profile at different temps as it warms in the glass. I dont have bottles in freezer now because of what it does to the label and some cheap corks (4 Roses)l. Just take a bottle and put in for an hour or so. Brewzle, you are a straight shooter not afraid of public opinion or corporations coming down on you. Stay strong, you are a solid dude. Hope to run into y'all someday in College Station TX or on the road.

That’s so cool for you to run into a fan and just do what you do, take them on board and then end up at their place just trying some new whiskeys! Love your channel, keep them coming!!!
The guys at Party Time are awesome folk. First Capital actually lowered the price on that Weller FP pick, it was $360. They are out of their minds, that's double secondary.
Whiskey should be enjoyed the way you like it the best. Mixed, on the rocks, with a few drops of water or straight out of the bottle. It was incredibly fun that you came home with him, and what a fine fellow he was. I would love to share a bottle with him!

I was on duty at the firehouse next to the store in Corydon. You should have stopped by for a tour and some bourbon talk. I hate that I missed you. Great channel and content! Keep it up.
Man that Greenville party time guy. God blessed him today. He bought 15 cases thinking he’d get 3 but got them all, and was probably wondering how he’d sell them all. Then you come along, show his store to the world, and I’d bet he’s selling them pretty well because of you. This was a crazy thing to have recorded man, that’s god working in plain sight.
Use to put all my hard stuff in the fridge,(kid days)now just the stuff to make drinks, bourbons who just don't seem up to par, but to each their own, great channel by the way, do love my bourbon .
DUDE I'm jealous of this guys shop. Imagine working in your shop, then popping open the freezer and pouring a glass of ice cold bourbon. Ok I would have my bourbon on a self and pour in a glass and drink neat or with a big block of ice but his setup is still nice.
You guys were in my backyard. You should have checked out Bottles Unlimited in New Albany. Great selection, tasting bar, & a good selection of store picks.
We make Manhattan's with Bulleit Rye (2 measures), Antiga Sweet Vermouth (1 measure), Fee's Black Walnut Bitters ( 2 splashes), Luxardo Black Cherries (2)and a little drizzle of the syrup 1/2 teaspoonful (2.5ml) All poured over a large Scotch Rock. I've tried the same recipe with Bourbon but for ME the Rye is the way to go and the cocktail doesn't break the bank. We figure retail cost is about $6/drink. This is a large portion drink and costs about $25 at the local fancy watering hole. I enjoy your vlog, keep up the good work. Nice shop Somewhere in Indiana.
@@ps138vs2cavi Antiga Sweet Vermouth, it's from Italy. Ratio should have read 3 measures of Rye and 1 measure of Sweet Vermouth. I looked at my shot glasses and the top line is 45ml so 2 to the top is actually=to 3 measures. Sweet Vermouth to first line which is 30ml. My apologies for the measurement discrepancy. Also always adjust to your taste as well.
@@patrickmcgowen6455 yeah. You need to adjust to taste. I do a little less vermouth if I'm using Cinzano and a little more if I'm using Cocchi. Cinzano is awesome but really really sweet.
I got one of those blue run emerald ryes near Tampa for 39.99 a bottle on sale at a private owned, amazing deal I couldn’t pass it up and it did not disappoint.
I worked in Tokyo from '07 - '10 and bought a bottle of Elmer T. Lee at a liquor store in my neighborhood for around $25..maybe $30. I thought it was great, wish I could get some more but haven't seen it once since I came back stateside. Great episode btw.
I'm that guy who just collects. In a year and a half I put together a collection of over 1300 bottles. Maybe nobody is enjoying them now but I'm 77 so in a few years somebody will be able to enjoy things they never would have seen otherwise. Keep the videos coming.
I have the same Acquisition Disorder but with tinned pipe tobacco. I've got about 60 pounds stashed in different closets more than I could ever enjoy, but it's nice to share with friends and see their faces when I give them a dozen tins without flinching.
I'm in my forties and try to buy at LEAST one good bottle a month and stash it away under the stairs while I sip on J.T.S. Brown. My logic is that if I ever get to retire I'll be drinking like a king for the rest of my life!
One time i ordered a neat pour at a bar of knob 120, it was served with no ice in it, but you could tell they chilled the bourbon because it was cold and it still tasted awesome
This was an absolute great video. I loved that the guy took TJ and crew back to his place to share his bottles! The fact he had a Louisville Cardinals flag hanging was a plus😂 But overall this was a total feel good and informative video. No hate at all to that brother keeping his selection in a freezer,to each their own. Bottom line….. enjoy your bourbon and share with good friends and family! Go Louisville!!!😂😂
Totally agreed….. I have always said I don’t buy to collect bourbon…. I buy it to drink. I may save it back for a special occasion but it will be opened and available to drink. 🍷
Bottle kill this week was the Sagamore Rum finished. Love a good rye, that rum finish adds some good brown sugar and vanilla to the finish. Honestly have been a fan on everything to come out of Sagamore
So I am new to the hunt but I must say one of my favorites is New Riff SB for the $$. And if you happen to get a store pic it's even better. I have blinded it with Holliday, 2x0 and barrel vantage and Old Forester 1920 and it came out top every time.
TJ! Next time you’re in Southern Indiana over the river, check out Hunter Station Liquor in Sellersburg. They have an eclectic mix with some allocated products at time that’s between MSRP and secondary, but pricing is kind of here and there. My hometown liquor store too!

Brother, don't always watch but always check in every once in a while. Amazing to watch you go from 4,800 subs to 662k subs. #WhiskeyWhisperer #brewzleDawg #AmericanDream #80flavors
Cool, to see how TJ connects with his followers! That’s why I love TH-cam
I live in Southern Indiana and thought this was a great video all around. Andy you have found alot of unique bourbon flavors ...big red...buttered popcorn...really impressed 😎
Tj i have seen your videos for a long time ....its part of my time off during the day.....thanks for yours videos
Great video, TJ!! Andy is a gem of a whiskey friend🙏🥃
huntin, tastin, hangin with the dudes.. I'm havin a great time in andys garage with yall! best video ever
I was on duty at the firehouse next to the store in Corydon. You should have stopped by for a tour and some bourbon talk. I hate that I missed you. Great channel and content! Keep it up.
Also T.J. you need to hunt some Krogers in Indiana. Found a store pick WR DO for 40.
TJ you’re great. Authentic. This video is exact example. Keep up being a good genuine human.
Agreed on secondary market, some 10-25% maybe? But $1000 for Elmer is nuts!!
Andy is great! Thanks for sharing your stash this with us all! 🏆great vid.
Awesome! What a great video, old mate is doing it his way, what a welcoming genuine guy! Loved this video, thank you 😊
You guys were in my backyard. You should have checked out Bottles Unlimited in New Albany. Great selection, tasting bar, & a good selection of store picks.
I think that's cool you can meet new people and get along in a world that is so divided 😊
Wo that's a lot of Vermouth. We use a half or at the most 3/4. 2 to one is a strong vermouth flavor. What vermouth do you use?
@@ps138vs2cavi Antiga Sweet Vermouth, it's from Italy. Ratio should have read 3 measures of Rye and 1 measure of Sweet Vermouth. I looked at my shot glasses and the top line is 45ml so 2 to the top is actually=to 3 measures. Sweet Vermouth to first line which is 30ml. My apologies for the measurement discrepancy. Also always adjust to your taste as well.
@@patrickmcgowen6455 There ya go. That's perfect
Best video hands down. Love when people just get together
I'm that guy who just collects. In a year and a half I put together a collection of over 1300 bottles. Maybe nobody is enjoying them now but I'm 77 so in a few years somebody will be able to enjoy things they never would have seen otherwise. Keep the videos coming.
I’m sure there are plenty of people here that will come and drink them for you! Love it
I have the same Acquisition Disorder but with tinned pipe tobacco.
I love Andy and Ben!! Love the fans. :)
Big Andy fan. Sweet setup he's got there.
The whiskey tasting portion of the video was awesome! Andy seems like a really cool dude!
Andy, what a great dude. All he needs is a fast AF project car in that shop and good to go
Andy...That is one CLEAN shop...Your a good dude..
This was an absolute great video. I loved that the guy took TJ and crew back to his place to share his bottles! The fact he had a Louisville Cardinals flag hanging was a plus😂
But overall this was a total feel good and informative video. No hate at all to that brother keeping his selection in a freezer,to each their own. Bottom line….. enjoy your bourbon and share with good friends and family! Go Louisville!!!😂😂
Love the fact you were in Jeff that’s where I live and we just get lumped in with Louisville so much thanks for giving us our own episode
Man I love this channel. Every time I see a new video pop up I get so excited.
Invite this dude to a pick love him
Awesome video. Hanging out with a guy who does bourbon his way. Awesome shop!!!
