Brother she is getting there. I always smile when a notification pops up, I know that some new go fast goodies have arrived. I loved my Cheetah manual valve body w/ reverse pattern. I used a B&M series 60 gated shifter so the reverse pattern worked better for me. Using a ratchet shifter it isn't needed. Congratulations brother, she is coming together nicely. 2022 is going to be a good year for the ol girl, definitely looking forward to seeing her back on the track.
Great video helped my nephew take his 727 out after breaking the tail casing after racing boy are those 727’s heavy had the same gentle landing when taking it out. Can’t wait to see the new engine 🥸
I learned the hard way that torque flites with the RMGB need very precise cable action for longevity. I was using what I thought was a good shifter (B&M) but having it only stretch a few thousands blew my tranny. I was told by the builder to use the Cheetah cable and nothing else, which I did with no further problems.
Yeah getting a deeper pan to hold more fluid is good and a good trans cooler with it's own fan is good too that way you can keep the temps down especially when you got a trans brake the trans get's hot sitting and waiting for the light to turn red
My 727 behind the 408 is a fwd manual and a trans brake. At the track under power it shifts nice and firm. When cruising to the track, 1st and 2nd shift firm but 3rd is quite a bang...I mean it hits hard at cruising power. Under heavy load it's fine. Does really well at the track but when I cruise I go through 1st and 2nd then throw it into neutral while letting off the gas then when the rpm drops I slide it back into 3rd. and it's a nice smooth shift. It'll be interesting to see if yours has similar characteristics. I run a 3200 Bracket Master converter from TCS out of Langley with 4.10's in the 68 'Cuda notchie. Not counting the converter, you can put $4 grand in a 727 pretty quick without even trying.
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop Lol, yup. $Dang thing all billet$.Then there's the flex plate, deep pan, oil cooler, new lines, pressure and temp gauges, tailshaft for the gearvendors od...and on and on. It adds up pretty quick...
I vote for Same Shifter! just may have move lever few RPM sooner to make up for slack, I did that with the Slapstick shifter in my 'CUDA with a reverse pattern. and you will be pulling second gear as you pass that "Christmas Tree" unless you drop some gear ratio too!
Keep that stock shifter they look awesome on the console. I kept the slapstick in my Challenger and run a Cheetah forward pattern manual valve body. It’s great ! If you’re looking for a good converter go with TCS, they make a great product and they are Canadian eh ! 🤟
Another thing ........I used a higher flow brass tranny filter, magnets in the pan and a remote qt spin-on filter and used type"F" fluid. Which has a better friction coefficient.
Best on a 1/4 would have been like 11.1. Looking for low 10s this year. Track we race is shorter so I use a converter for times. Check out the race day vids for more info!
They go click click boom! Make shure you use Kevlar bands. They DONT slip at all. Huge improvement over composite materials. Give your trans break about 500 rpm from flash stall. You will thank me later.
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop though cast steel is better than nodular and nodular is better than cast iron , with the trans brake i would be concerned about longevity
@@big3fan916 ya I hear what your saying with the shock load and everything. You may be right but this crank was what I was recommended to get so I am going with it. Thanks
I got a ride in one of them TRX trucks and they haul ass I thought they would be slow with the size and weight of the truck but it locks you in the seat. They are a sweet truck but too much for me to spend put they are a nice truck.
what was the cost of the trans build? I bought a 727 built for my 512 stroker from WESTERN POWERTRAIN IN EDM, built to 600hp and has lasted 3-4 yrs now with street tires
Are you still running around with the 4500 stall? Some guys on the Dodge Dart FB page are picking apart your vid from last year when you road tested it lol

Thanks bro! 👍🏻👍🏻 and thanks for watching
I converted mine to run a slapstick and it works fantastic while still looking fairly stock
👍🏻👍🏻
Yep i just pressed in that button and pulled down ,way back when only reverse valave body was only available
Hey Joe, watched you guys live last night and can't wait to see you run with the new engine 👍👍👍👍👍✅✅✅✅✅✅
Right on bro! Thanks for watching
Trans brake taking it to an official NHRA level...
Love your videos! Mopar baby!!!
Hell ya brother!
Nice bro. My TH400 in my Nova has a RMVB and a brake. You will love it...
👍🏻👍🏻
Can't wait to see the finished product! It should really haul ass!!
Hell ya brother!
Great job great Mopar keep up the great work I can't wait to see this thing go
Hell ya brother. Thanks for watching
On the convertor make sure you have an anti-ballooning plate installed in it.
Agree. Why I bought mine from TCS transmission in Langley BC. Great bunch of guys.
Pro trans is very good. I talked to Bob Mazzolini about them he knows them well. Nice video update!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Aren't they cast aluminum? I could even carry mine around short distances, it's not light but not too heavy to be an automatic transmission
Looking good buddy
Exciting times 👌
Thanks bro 😎

Nice upgrade.
👍🏻
I had a Meizzere electric billet water pump on my big block challenger and loved it.
But it wasn't a street strip car.
I also used kevlar bands and the blue clutch plates......

Red?
Oh and definitely a trans shield!
Yes blanket or shield is required!
I recommend a shield over a blanket...Blankets soak up oil and keep the heat in.
I had a blanket and hated it!
lol
At the auto mec. school I went to the prof. always said to dump the big spring you had in between the valve body and trans.even on street hi perf. !
B&M Mega shifter will fit in your console...personally i love that especially in a A-body
Nice thought!
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop yeah a buddy of mine has that combo in his scamp , ill see if he has a picture i can forward to ya

Hmm that’s interesting I will have to see how smooth the shifts are with the new body. And yep you definitely put money into a trans lol

Did you go to a 2.77 first gear? That valve body change gears on the snap!
Go with a B&M pro rachet shifter for sure!
While I’m a 4-speed guy, I still found this video…. SQUIRREL!! (1:03) …very interesting and useful.
Hahaha I was waiting for someone to mention those squirrels 🐿. Right on thanks for watching
4 speed manual full kits for old mopars are like 4k online... It's insane!

Got a magnet in the pan and have a decent cooler that gets hit by electric fan now but still may upgrade it later 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi again nice work were did you get the button from? That's mounted on your wheel for trans brake thank you jb.
Just off summit. Can’t remember name was like 30$
I heard your local track was 4 ft under water ?
It was lol. Water gone now
Joe, that trans brake valve body is a manual forward pattern?
Manual reverse
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop ok thanks, so your stock shifter 3 is 1st and 1 is 3rd

$1800
Kinda hard to figure price as I did half a couple years back and now did brake and valvebody. But sounds like you got a decent deal
Are you still running around with the 4500 stall? Some guys on the Dodge Dart FB page are picking apart your vid from last year when you road tested it lol
Hahha that’s what people do! Lol. Yep still got it. No problems. Will be nocking some stall out of it tho now that I will have a trans brake
And a shift light if you don't alreay have one
Got one of those already, thanks for watching!
Smart move on the converter, way too loose for your new combo.
Yep you nailed it. Thanks for watching
Is it just me or does your buddy make it look too easy?
What a great channel!!! We don't have nothing like that here in Brazil, congrats for the Dart. Do you have a Instagram profile?
Hey! Thanks for checking out the channel. My Instagram is @joeyrocks thanks for watching lots more on the channel!
