What gets me is why no one has made an aftermarket short shaft, that has a short output shaft and and aftermarket housing, but make it a slip yoke instead of fixed. I've seen enough 727s grenade the tail shaft section. It might have been other things, but guaranteed that long shaft contributed to the problem.
I may be potentially swapping a 440 big block into my IH Scout/Travelall. It has a freshly rebuilt short shaft truck Torqueflite trans. Unfortunately, the bellhousing does not match chrysler. The 440 comes with a long tail trans. Is it possible to switch them out? Any videos about swapping them?
It's fairly easy to swap the tailshafts. Disassembly is here: th-cam.com/video/qgdpfLnprYc/w-d-xo.html Swap here: th-cam.com/video/WLsh50sJzxM/w-d-xo.html

B-vans used the long shaft version also. Not counting any RV/cutaway type chassis in that, just the regular B-van.

Anyone have a video on the tail shaft removal?
if you switch the shaft and tailshaft housing are they interchangeable?
Yes, the are
You forgot a 4x4 tail shaft. And an early trunion drive shaft style
Having watched this video, I feel shafted.
