Fairisle on Basic Knitting Machines, Method 3

This is Method 3 in the series of Fairisle on Basic Knitting Machines. Even though it is demonstrated on an LK150, it works exactly the same way on a Brother KX350 knitter. The differences between the LK150 and KX350 are just cosmetic, except that the KX350 needles are spaced 7mm apart, while those on the LK150 are 6.5 mm apart. The levers all work the same; to make it simpler in this video, I refer to them simply as back levers and front levers.
Since we must read from a chart and select pattern stitches manually, the first part of the video includes a few hints on keeping your place in the chart. Another good option is a document/book holder, the kind typists and keyboard operators use when entering data. Several are also available on Amazon, similar to this one: www.amazon.com...
Clip boards, rubber bands, and Post-It notes are widely available, in any office supply store.
I hope this gives you some new ideas on reading charts, as well as a new Fairisle method.

I love that pattern. I am planning on getting a knitting machine by the new year. LK 150 is what I have in mind. Just finished a multi colored hand knit front of a sweater, but the tension on a knitting machine is perfect, while mine is just okay. Will watch your videos for great ideas, thank you!

Thank you Irene,for this brilliant Idea,I’ve just build my own magnetic board😝 clip on a magnetic sheet onto a standup clipboard, available in office supply shops, cut a small strip of the magnetic sheet to use for front.Works well.I love your videos and patterns💖
