    Hook:All purpose medium weight 12-16
    Thread: Black 8/0
    Tail: Black hackle fibers
    Body: Black thread
    Wing: Starling back feather
    Hackle: Black hen

    Cool! Never thought to use the starling tips to create such a unique pattern. Love the sheen on those feathers. Looks like something I need in my Oikawa box.

      Thanks Kevin, the starling is a useful skin. I go through them quite quickly. Loads of nice patterns to be tied with them, but you should definitely put some of these in your box.

    I quite like that too Martyn! That wing and the set of it, as well as the hackle are beautiful :o) I've got to get me a Starling, once I read in a catalog that those "eyed" feathers make a good sub for jungle cock ($$$) as well as a soft hackle feather - now as a wing. Thanks for all these great patterns!
