You mentioned tying with different wire colors. Have you noticed any consistency in a color or colors being more effective, & when doing a tying session, do you tie using a number of colors so you have some of each in your fly box? When I started fly fishing & tying, there were only copper, silver & gold. Now, oh my. Since I can no longer fish & now tie to donate, I can’t systematically test them myself.
I do carry different colors. It can depend on the time of year and conditions. The one that I have found that can be a game changer is chartreuse. I think they may take it as a Caddis emerger.
@@ShortyOnTheFly Thanks. I bet Lefty Kreh would have agreed. To paraphrase him: “Without chartreuse, it ain’t no use.” I will definitely tie a bunch with chartreuse wire.
I've been on a wet fly/ soft hackle kick recently and this was the best video I could've found. Certainly, an easy yet effective tie, thanks Shorty!
Glad you liked it!
Great video on a great pattern. I also tie it with a bead when I nymph it more than swinging.
Yep, that would definitely work.
Thank you Shorty 🙏
Thanks for watching.
Another wonderful video . Cheers to you!
Keep up the good videos
Thanks, will do!
Keep up the videos
did you use a whiting hen cape or hen saddle? solid fly, thanks!!
Whiting Brahma Hen. Very similar to Hungarian Partridge but they come in a variety of colors and are much easier to work with. Hope that is helpful.

Congrats. Thanks.
Lovely fly.
Don't tell anyone about this.
Nah. They don't work anyway. ;-)
