For me, both endings are ok, but this one gave me the real portrait that I was expecting for, more than the other one. Of course, it's just my opinion.
How am I just now discovering this scene to one of my favorite movies. It's like we were about to get to spend the whole Sunday with this family. I didn't want it to end.
I've never seen this before and IMO, it's a much better ending; Tiffany and Pat are still finding their way around each other and it's exactly like a family interacting with each other. I'm not one for romantic movies, but this cut me up completely. Never expected to like it, but watched it again the day after I did. And that look Jennifer Lawrence gives when Pat says, "I harassed you with love" proves why she made the film so perfect.
Man, they should've kept this. Pat (Bradly) was genuinely happy when he knew tiffany (Jennifer) and his dad (De-Niro) was just kidding. Gotta love De-Niro fanboy demeanor "he can stay, but the shirt's comes off."
I do think the original ending fits the film better. Once, Tiffany and Pat finally confess their love for each other, we’re reassured that things are gonna be alright now. We don’t have to watch any more tense scenes. We’ve found the silver lining.
I love how Pat held her in the chair. You can tell Bradley and Jennifer have good off screen chemistry just by the his comfort in touching her like that.
This ending was the best. This entire family is disordered. That’s the reality. It is systematic. It’s never just one person who is disordered the FAMILY SYSTEM IS DISORDERED.
I breaks my heart they cut this scene, it is so beautifully done and gives so much more CLOSURE for ALL the characters in the film. Especially the side characters as they are all under one roof, friends and family, its love, friendship...and a home :) I actually am an editor and added the films soundtrack to this scene and synced it perfectly, at some point ill just make a custom DVD with this scene in it for my private collection :3
I related to this film a lot. It was great. The way she looks at Pat when he says "I was harassing you with love!" then goes over and sits on his lap while they kiss is one of the sweetest moments of cinema history. Too bad it was edited different in the ending.

They really need to make a TV series out of this-it would be a massive hit. Think about all the strange phobias, illnesses, superstitions and compulsions people deal with...they'll be lucky to fit all the possibilities into the first 100 episodes. I can see the first five season story arcs already. That series would be simply brilliant.

Raul hernandez this is my favorite movie too! this ending came with the extra features in the DVD, it's the "alternate ending" or, as you might say, longer ending, i think they just had to cut it short because this ending is amazing (although i loved the actual ending). This is actually a great ending there not crazy there just coping with reality but towards the end there was a bit of joking but then again that's Robert De Niro at his finest and they where just messing with him
I wouldn't have liked this ending if it was in the movie so I'm super glad they went with what they already had. I would of been disappointed with this one.
