Great video! I do like to 'see my beauties' so I hang mine away from direct light, seeing them just makes me happy. I also collect Chanel nail polish...I glue a magnet on the back of each color and hang them on the wall like a Mondrian painting (I know it sounds odd, but it's fun to play with color). Awesome tip using lavender for moth control!
Thank you for such a good tutorial. !!! Very useful video. I live in the woods and I keep them in drawers each in a clear zip lock ( the ones with zipper) from the Dollar store. I leave a bit open at the end so air can come in . Moth is a problem with all fabrics but I have been doing this for years and it works. Also I can see their colors. It may not be the greatest way but so far the safest keeping away insects and protecting them from the light. I have old pomanders from the 70's which I fill with fresh lavender every year so to avoid oil or grease getting into my scarves. Anyway that is my way. Plastic may not be the prettiest or most correct way of storing all sizes including cashmere/silk shawls but helps me control these insects. I also keep wool Burberry scarves in these individual bags.
Great tips, Martha, and useful I’m sure for anyone living in similar areas. You’re doing something right if it keeps the insects away from your fabrics. Thanks for sharing your experience!
You’re lucky if you’ve never had to deal with moths. Knock on wood, I’ve been lucky with my scarves, but some of my cashmere sweaters haven’t fared so well. ☹️
Great suggestions ❤ I love to see the designs of these beautiful works of art. I use magnets to display a 90 x 90 on the wall and rotate them each month. The rest I use tie hangers - they have tiny soft plastic pegs dangling from a coat hanger; I peg them gently folded. I find that this produces less defined crease marks across the scarves than having them folded flat, which I don't like when I put them on. I don't have time to iron my scarves before I wear them!
I really love your cartoon with the H store background. Great tips about scarf storage. Was womdering if you could do tutorial for 40×40 scarfs... TFS hun🥰😘
Maya, can you please do a video demonstrating how to fold a Plisse? I have one on the way that unfortunately doesn't have box. It's an orange "Perles du Kenya." If it doesn't have tight pleats, I may just iron out it flat because I love the design.
Thanks for your question, dear. There’s not much to it, they typically would come in a circular box so you’d roll it to fit. Anything circular about 4” wide would do. They do also offer a repleating service, so that may be an option for you if you love the pleats 🥰
But what are you doing if all the boxer if they aren’t containing scarvs? Must take à LOT of space! And i heard that you shouldnt store your hermesbag in the box because of the glue that the box has. That it gives smell. What about the scarvs? They must also then take up smell from the glue
They do take up a lot of space, but many people use them decoratively, myself included. I don’t store my scarves or bags in the boxes. Thanks for the questions!
Thanks for the question! No set schedule, unless there are visible stains or I sweat wearing it, in which case I hand wash asap. Be sure to check out my scarf care video if you haven’t seen it: th-cam.com/video/YbEcxUwyoO4/w-d-xo.html
Hello, Maya (is that the correct spelling?). Do you wear skin care, like moisturizers and spf, on your neck and how you care for your scarves with that in mind? Also, perfumes. How do you personally manage caring for your beautiful H scarves when you have lotions, perfumes and makeup in your neck and face?? Thank you.
All great questions, let me think about a video to give you some answers on what’s worked for me. And yes, that is the right spelling for my name, thank you 😊
Thanks for your comments. Safest way is to buy at the H boutiques or through their website, but if you’re looking for preowned, check out my video about shopping on eBay: th-cam.com/video/iJ7jt1ET1Zs/w-d-xo.html

Totally understand, they are works of art! And what a creative idea with the Chanel nail polish, it sounds intriguing. Thanks for sharing, Rebecca!

Never thought of moth attacks and the need for silk scarves to breathe - super helpful tips. Thanks.

Hi! How often do you wash your scarves? Do you wash it yourself or get it dry cleaned?
