How to repair a Bosch GDX 18V-200 impact driver that won't change speed. selector buttons don't work

This is the Bosch GDX 18V-200 Impact driver. The most powerful impactor Bosch has. This are very good impactors and extremally well made as you can see. They even have a built in 40 amp fuse like the makita to save the expensive controller should it ever draw to much current.
The keypad to select the power setting broke on this one, luckily Bosch supply it seperatly from the main controler, unlike many other brands. These are only simply tacktile switches on keyboard and can easly ware out, or fill with dirt.
The 1/2inch anvil head also makes this a useful impact wrench that saves you from having to buy a seperate tool.

Hardly used my 200C. Yesterday... yep the speed control button doesn't work anymore. Light is ok. To bad they used such an brittle ribbon in that place. But still 😅 can't help it. Got like 20+ bosch professional tools and i love them!

Would love to hear from anyone who have had problems with bits engaging/staying in place OR locking. Mine won't accept any bits and tends to drop sockets. I think a ball/retainer spring is either jammed or missing.

I had the same thing go wrong with mine a couple years ago when i dropped it. It wouldn't change speeds unless i removed the battery and reinstalled it.

I recently bought a bosch gdx 210c 18v 1/4 and 1/2 inch impact and have used it about 3 times but today it got a small bit of use, removing a combination of 8mm hex head screws and concrete screws and had a bit of a problem changing bits, I'm wondering is it's just cos it hasn't been used much amd they're new bits do they need a but of breaking in or is it a problem with the bearings in chuck

Hi, I have a Bosch GDS 740 that had the same problem where the speed selector didn't work nor did any of the lights and so I brought a new electronic module and now all the lights work but the speed setting doesn't change at all. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

hey dean i have a bosch professional GDS 18V EC 300 Abr , was Working fine next day went out battery was dead wont charge and the impact wrench wont work tried another battery. ? any idea of what it could be would ot be the 40 amp fuse

Ok i have the same impact with a different model number gdx18v-1800c. Im suspecting the same part is bad but its doing nothing. 2 lights on the speed indicator come on. Sometimes it will run on low at certain ranges on the trigger. Sometimes the light comes on. It was dropped in the lake to be clear. Just wondering if it ca be saved im kind of a bosch only guy. It went in on my first job working for myself as a marine mechanic/electrician etc.

Ok i swapped out the light and speed switch with another working impact and its not that. I think its the control module which means its not worth reparing. Also the trigger switch on this model is not repairable on its own. It doesnt have a removable wire connector the trigger and pcb are all one part.

Hello Dean; i'm from Romania, and want to buy a Bosch GDX 18V-200C (it has an C in rear, as a model), any advice please, is a good tool? I'm buying it for very light work, gonna use on 1/2 for take out screws from car wheel(i use a calibrated wrench to tighten up, 120-125 nm), and 1/2hex for take out some screws from hy heating central from my house, boiler have screws tighten up with impact tool. I already buy it a set of Milwaukee hex impact bit, is a set of ~40 pieces. And, any screws that is stuck badly. Thank you.

Bit lock remove video
