So far to engage the pv reset process and clear any adapted held values in the system..that needs its own video to explain how this engine works and how it change shift the timing and pressure tables as well as fuel delivery!
Hello, having problem with my bike. It doesn't work on high RPM. I warmed up engine and began to add gas and it twisted. Changed spark plugs doesn't work. Cleaned power valve and use Wake up connector to regulate power valve. Very helpful video thank you, but bike still doesn't work. What kind of problem it can be? Huge thanks in advance.
Glad I came across your videos! I did not receive my wake up connector so I gotta chase the dealer. But I just got a 2023 250sxf and after even a proper warm up if I grab a QUICK rip of the throttle it kills the bike. Haven't had this on anything. Especially fuel injected. Would you possibly know anything on that or if they didn't fully unlock my bike? I appreciate any input.
I am not sure that the 23' 250/350/450sxf has one..it may have the port under the seat to access the system via the dealer computer but I will check about the red/black connector. If you bike was not properly unlocked, it will run for only .5 hrs then it will die and not start at all. What I think is happening is your TPS voltage is a hair lean and causing it to puff out. We did a few things to make this go away, we removed the stocker air filter black plastic cage and changed it out to a 2 stroke cage that was no wire mesh in it and raised the initial TPS voltage a full point and the bog/stall out went away. I don't recall what that voltage was, but I have a friend bringing his 23' 350xcf over late next week bc of the same thing, looks like I will be doing a video on that! If you don't have one, go to www.tpstool.com and get one, it will help you dil in your bike as well as your friends- more soon, thanks for posting! J
@@themotocrossmodchannelWulfMX that would be awesome if a second source could acknowledge the wake up chip coming with the 250sxf. I will be staying tuned. I thank you for the info.
Hi, so I found this video and was a little confused. Yes, I the exact same bike and one of these wake up connecter things. What does it really do. I do currently have some issues with my green map making some strange noises at the very top end. Does this fix that problem? Really would like to hear a reply, because if it solves that problem, I’ll do that now! Love your videos btw!
When the wake up connector is plugged in, it re-routs low voltage from the battery to energize the system so small simple reset tasks can take place via the throttle commands. Think of it as a small jumper that makes an internal connection so the system sees itself. If you haven't been notified already, there is a dealer recall/warranty (meaning no charge $), to do a power valve reset, a new map (ending in 1006), a pickup sensor part and a TPS service. This should help the bike run better. The bulletin was issued to KTM dealers on 4/24/23.
So quick question… did this on both white and green maps after my 2023 300xc came back from shop. Then checked each map again using same procedure. No noises the second time through. Normal? One and done? I’m thinking the KTM tech never did this reset procedure because I heard the noises first time through.
I will say it like this...there are many bikes and there will be many more that leave the dealer not set up properly. This is regarding the PV being reset, as well as the TPS..this is something that will need to be done as you own the bike, regardless if you did a top end or the TPS has changed. Have you ever owned a new smart phone that required a reset to work ok again? Same thing here! It will ESPECIALLY need to be done when you do a top end, but doesn't effect the TPS. The TPS is a whole different scenario and will require a whole different process, video coming for that!
The manual says to only do half throttle position and not a full throttle reset. Is there a reason for your process? I’m really curious about how you came up with this process. Fantastic video and well explained. Just got a 23 250xc and am learning the ropes here.
I just picked up my 23 xc300. I hit the start button by accident. lol. Now I know why people are switching out the start/ stop switch. Where brand do you have on your bike? Thanks....
When you do a top end and try to put the electronic powervalve motor back onto the cylinder how do you get the motor to line up with the power valve linkage?
#1- disconnect the battery before you work on it and it will be a non issue. #2- if this happens, have someone do the pv reset while you hold the servo motor and try to line it up in place a little bit at a time. It may take a few times to get it right.
The PV code is related to hitting the start button accidentally when the engine is running and not related to the pipe or anything. If you for sure didn't hit the button by accident, then you could have thrown a code for some reason, and either way that is a dealer only reset. The map ending in 1004 is supposed to prevent the code from coming back so if it's not a huge hassle, call you dealer and see if they can do a quick reset for you and check your map number, takes 5 min and it was a mandatory update, meaning it was to be done at NC for the customer. The flashing Fi light is merely a visual hinderance and should not effect performance. I would do the reset anyway to know you are good to go...kinda like a new phone, needs a reset every once and a while for no reason. Good luck! J
make sure you have the warranty work done that was issued to KTM dealers on 4/24/23..regarding the new map ending in 1006, a power valve reset, TPS voltage check and the missing pickup sensor bracket. That should help along with an Orange Box OEM KTM NGK BR9ECMVX plug, and some fuel that is roughly 95+ octane at 40/1 with a premix oil with a flashpoint of 235 or better, like Motorex. Your dealer may try to verify your bike is part of the VIN range by entering it into the system, it WILL not show up as an issue..when I enter my VIN into the checker, the VIN doesn't exist. Its all messed up. Post back-
