The look on your crew members face's when they saw the suite and when they found out they were going to be staying in it, was priceless. They deserve it, as all cruise ship crews work so hard and such long hours; and often taken for granted by the passengers. Hope those that have been stuck onboard because they can't get home due to the pandemic (or are skeleton crew), have been put in normal passenger cabins, so they have there own space, instead of their tiny shared cramped ones.
@Pat Kat thanks for telling me Pat, pleased to hear that, to me thats the right thing to do. Unfortunately, I don't have enough memory on my phone to add Instagram🙁 and I have only just found her TH-cam channel (came up in recomendations.) Keep safe.
Sweet Jesus, I thought I'd seen it all in my 42 yrs. Nope, that room is crazy nice. I work for a rival luxury line. It's awesome to see crew get treated for their successes.
As a ex-crew, I don't even need this, all I wanted in the company that I worked for was be treated with more respect, and have better conditions on board, like a good variaty of food on crew mess.
I agree...the best part was seeing the crew members getting a chance to enjoy that fantastic Suite!! The part when the crew member jumped on the bed was GREAT! Awesome job, Captain Kate, keeping the crew uplifted. Can’t wait to come aboard for the November 12, 2021 sailing...hopefully get a chance to meet Bug Naked🐱!!!

I’m glad she gave us a tour. I can barely afford a balcony room after saving for 5 years. Oh well... I shouldn’t complain since at least I can afford to even go on a cruise. I am glad to see they let the crew use it for special occasions...wait, do you need a paramedic on board!? 🤣😂...thanks for another wonderful video. Some day we will be back!
Captain McCue, give the possibility for the crew to stay in that cabins is the most remarkable part. I'm sure that you've loyalty your crew with this gesture 😁👌
So happy to see the crew’s & especially the Men who load the foods/liquors & luggage (longshoreman) back to work, without them tying up the ships & loading them-we would all be stuck on Land.
Kudos to Captain Kate for keeping the ship and crew in prime condition during this pandemic. I count myself lucky that I can work from home during this pandemic and bond with my family. I'd just like to send best wishes and Kudos to Captain Kate and her crew for the sacrifices they're making: keeping a huge ship in prime condition while being away from their loved ones. Sure, they're all on a mega ship with plenty of space and food. However, not being home with loved ones for a long time I'm sure takes a toll. We're all thinking of you guys, and look forward to you all getting back w/your loved ones again soon. Until then, I wish you smooth sailing.
It depends on, if you are not married with children it's not difficult to be away. But I wouldn't like to be on a ship without working, passengers are the reason of a cruise ship.
@@howiseait8595 There are no $1 billion second-hand ships out there. It'll be much more difficult to sink a ship than a $100,000 "ship," which is really a boat, or a ship in such deteriorated status, it's more likely to sink than to make it beyond your country's border.
Yeah it’s a nice room, I would not furnish and decorate it the same way but I’m not a designer. My budget would be the lowest category of inside cabin. Honestly I’d be under water level in a crew room with bunk bed working in the kitchen.
Thanks Capt. Kate, now that was a tease. I have been on many cruises, now you are just trying to get me to spend more money on the next cruise, LOL and guess what it worked, my wife will love you!! love your channel

Good afternoon Captain. If I may ask a question about the Captain's cabin. When you get your much need time off, do you have to remove all your personal items from the Captain's cabin? Is there two Captain's cabin's onboard the newer vessels that would permit you to keep your items in place? Hope you have a wonderful vacation.
Hi Captain Kate. How many clothes does one need for a week in that suite? Cabinets for days. I could fit my entire wardrobe in that wall of cabinets. Amazing really. Thanks for sharing this.
I am a big cruise ship fan, mostly Royal Caribbean ships, but Celebrity Edge is definately on my list. My approach to rooms on a ship though is less is more. I consider the cabin to be a place to sleep, clean, and change for the day activities. Anything extra is nice, but I would rather spend time outside the room enjoying the ship than inside a super luxurious room.
" less is more". I agree. If I go on a cruise, I am getting the most cheapest, bottom deck, room. Only for sleeping and shower, I will be outside that room and looking over the ocean.
I'll keep playing the lottery and one day upgrade to the Iconic suite. To be honest I think it would be a waste as we enjoy the hustle and bustle of the main ship and meeting the wonderful crew
I don't think I'd want to leave the suite! Having sailed on the Edge right before COVID changed the world, to say the ship is unique is an understatement. Is the Apex the same design or are there subtle differences between the Sister Ships?
Nice suite! It’s bigger than my house. One question though, why all the storage for a room that the guests are onboard for what two weeks at most? I understand it accommodates 6 guests, but is everyone who is using the suite packing a steamer trunk? I don’t think the Titanic had that much storage in their first class suites!
Interesting but I'm more interested in how all ship systems work. I'd like to see segments on the engines, water treatment, managing the shops, embarkation planning, etc. Educate us!
Same that would be very cool, if you have any questions about how systems work on a cruse ship I have a few friends who work on cruse ships and I could get answers.
Look up Jeffhk - he's one of the best youtubers (besides Capt. McCue) for the maritime industry and talks mainly about the engineering side of things as oppose to the deckhand/mate side.
My wife and I are enjoying your videos. Having accumulated quite a few birthday candles, I have some issues with my hearing. The first several episodes of "How I See It" had background music which overpowered my ability to hear the dialog. I have noticed that the last two episodes have more muted music. Keep up the good work.
I would very much love to sail on a voyage with Captain Kate. I have so much respect and appreciation for what she does. I do want to meet her, and I want to meet the cat as well! Once Covid is dealt with I hope it’s a possibility 😊
With modern cruise ships being equal to or better than most resort hotels, it is not surprising that many retired people sold their houses and lived full time onboard, before COVID.

Wow! Beautiful! Impressive. Thanks, Captain Kate for the tour. Love your videos!
Awwwww!!!! The crew members who get to celebrate there. Sweetest thing ever. 🤗❤️🎉
The best part about this is the part where crew members are given a few nights in the room as a thank you for what they're going through.
Agreed. They deserve the recognition for doing what they do, and being away from loved ones for so long.
The means this suite is almost never sold.

It costs over 100,000$ for 2 people on a 10-day cruise. I think I'd rather buy my own ship for that price.
hahahaha exactly
For 100000 you will get a second hand boat, which will definitely sink
@@exoticfacts5543 and a $1 billion dollar boat/ship won't??

Fantastic video Captain Kate. We had the pleasure of sailing with on the Equinox. So, special what you are doing for the crew with the suites.
Absolutely spectacular
That suite was beautiful. Thanks for taking us on the tour. You are my favorite Captain. Sailed with you a few times.👌😎
So amazing how the crew members were able to stay in those suites. Their reactions looked priceless. Way to go Captain Kate !!

A little over the top. You'd never want to leave considering how much it costs.
Do cruise ship carry arms, and if they carry, how they manage to enter different countries with Guns and Ammunition
They dont, they have water cannons to avoid attempts of piracy but not actual guns
