Our first cruise was this year on Celebrity. We have a 13 year old and she was one of few kids on the ship. She still had a very good time. The staff was very friendly and enjoyed having her on ship. Our sommelier even made every night special by surprising her with a fun and different nonalcoholic drink! Our family enjoyed them so much, that we are cruising with them again in July!

Just returned on March 12, 2023 from a 7 night cruise on Celebrity Beyond. We splurged on a Sky Suite in The Retreat. It was nothing short of amazing. The staff could not not do enough for you and having access to The Retreat Lounge was a phenominal benefit not to mention the premium drink package and premium wi-fi that was included. The worst part is that it may have spoiled us forever as we don't know if we can return without a suite. All the bad parts of cruising disappeared being replaced by pure luxury. If you can afford it there are not enough words to describe the difference.
This experience seems to be a long way away from the simplicity and class of the original celebrity lines when owned by Chandris . Cruising has become much to complicated for me personally.Don’t like the dinning experience or the size of the ship’s and the large amount of people. Even on the maiden voyage of the Century and the Millennium class they were much more like the old day cruise luxury experience.This just doesn’t appeal to me . Many will love it . I have done over 100 cruises but from a much earlier period from the 50’s
I haven't been on the Edge ships but looking at them in videos, they don't appeal to me. I think Zenith/Horizon and Century class ships had Celebrity spirit. They lost some with Millennium but regained some back with Solstice. This Edge class isn't really Celebrity in some ways. The lack of elegant lounges and intimate spaces on this ship and the class segmentation turns me off. Also, just how many restaurants do you need? And that Eden space, that looks like it belongs on some other line. I don't know. I hope Celebrity goes in a more Solstice like direction with the ship class after this one.
Sounds like Celebrity would be a good choice for us, just getting the chance to get back in in about 10 years. Have done HAL, RCCI, NCL, & Princess and haven't cared for the direction RCCI & NCL have been going. Joined at first viewing; great review!
My wife and I have sailed on the Celebrity Edge and Apex and are confirmed on the Beyond for my wife's 70th birthday next August. We LOVE the Edge class ships, especially the Sky Suite and Retreat privileges. You're comment about the friendliness of the crew is SO true, all crew members we encountered went out of their way to greet us with a smile. The meals we had were amazing!! We can't wait for our next Celebrity cruise.
Hello, once again you have done such a great review and so pertinent to all cruise fans. You seem so nice that we hope to see you one day on a cruise ship. We have done 2 Edge class ships so far the Apex followed by the Beyond. Both ships are very nice but for us the Beyond has all the minor upgrades that makes it our number one. We loved the new and larger design to the Sunset bar giving it an even more vibrant atmosphere. The central chandelier is also a better fit to the atrium making it a much larger sitting area to enjoy the great martinis and people watch. One of our favorite evening spot was the added World Class Bar that makes this cruise feel even more upscale with those special cocktails. For us the Ultimate verandas was the perfect room as we are not big fans of a balcony cabin as we hardly go on it when we have one. So with the Infinite Veranda it made the room feel so much larger that we appreciated it. As far as for service we felt that the Apex service was outstanding in all the area of our cruise compare to the Beyond. We found that on the Beyond the server in the MDR seemed rush and understaff as service was really slow and such had no time for smiles or engagement with its guests. That was pretty much the only area where the crew seemed a bit less friendly but not all there fault if they were understaff. Celebrity is becoming one of our favourite cruise line lately that fills out all of favorite stuff in life. On an other note do you have a Shipmate account ? Scheduled on the Beyond for October 23 to the Mediterranean. Looks like a good fit for me. I am a solo traveler in her 50s. I picked this cruise because it seemed like older crowd but not tooo old. I don’t like the party ships. I hope I don’t have the excursion problems. I really want to see Pompeii! Thank you for the great thorough review.

We recently took Celebrity Beyond starting in Rome. This was our 6th cruise and we would definitely recommend CB. As you stated in your piece the crew, entertainment and cleanliness of the ship were spectacular. We totally agree with your review.

I totally agree with the comments on the Sky Suite. Best value at sea for me. It’s the lowest cost entry to the Retreat and the perks seem to be a good value for the additional costs. Have been on both the Edge and Apex and am looking forward to finding an interesting itinerary for the Beyond!

First time here viewing your video. While the video is a nice overview for some with not unlimited time on YT I found way too many teases for the real info I was looking for ie. tease on infinity cabin and food. I won't be back but maybe this works for some others.
Just come back of Edge loved the ship but did find it a little difficult to navigate could be because our cabin was at the front. Would have liked a magnifying mirror in cabin. Booked on Beyond for next year but a midship cabin and an infinite balcony ( we had a porthole balcony on Edge which I actually liked to my suprise!)
Celebrity is our very favorite line. We have only been on 25 cruises but 15 of them have been Celebrity. They NEVER disappoint! We have been on the Edge and loved it. We are booked on Beyond for Dec. 1 and are looking forward to being on our favorite class of ship again in the Retreat. Your review was great but not surprising! The crew is the best! We completely agree with you about the The Celebrity ships. We sailed on the Beyond out of Southampton on its inaugural cruise and was very impressed with the decor, stateroom (infinite veranda), food and bar choices and the entertainment. The staff/crew were all very helpful and seemed to always have a bit of time to talk to you. Celebrity has been our favourite cruise line for many years and we look forward to sailing the oceans with them for many years to come 🤓
I think we were on Beyond the same week as you (you mentioned Valentine’s Day). I enjoyed watching your review and comparing with my own impressions. Overall I agree, beautiful modern ship. We loved our time there. Looking forward to your dining review. From what I gather you mostly visited Specialty dining restaurants and that I am sure made a big difference. We opted for just couple dinners there, otherwise using MDRs and Buffet. And while we mostly enjoyed MDRs, the Buffet was not good. Too crowded, fewer healthy options, average service.
New subscriber here. Have only been on the carnival celebration along time ago and the Queen Mary two a few times transatlantically. My question is about the older celebrity ships going to Alaska. Is there a big difference between them and this one? Especially the food. Aloha from Hawaii
After multiple cruises on Viking in PV cabins, we were unsure of taking cruises on a large ship. But after this review, and your several in depth reviews of the Apex Sky Suites and food last year, we just booked a Sky Suite on the Beyond last week! Now we have 11 months to wait, but we luckily have two Viking cruises in between. 😊
What an excellent video-based review! We've been on Apex twice; once in the Caribbean and once in the Med. We agree that the wifi was an issue; we had the basic wifi which was almost useless except for the Celebrity app. As a couple who enjoys quality wine we found the wines in the premium beverage package quite disappointing and mediocre. Our experience at the Fine Cut steakhouse was so disappointing. The food was surprisingly poor. We were a group of 8. The service was decent but we were completely ignored once a large group of about 40 entered the restaurant. In fact, we finished our meal and left without another visit from a single waiter. We will never do that again. We like Celebrity and have enjoyed other cruises with them. The Med. cruise excursions were fantastic. All in all, Celebrity is a very good cruise line, given our limited experience, and we will cruise with them again but we will stay away from the specialty restaurants.
We have sailed all three Edge class ships and agree that the Beyond is just fabulous. We will be back on in a couple weeks and will be on Ascent in January. We really like the decor and relaxed atmosphere and adore cafe alBacio. If the kids/grandkids are with us is probably Royal. The wife and I? It’s Celebrity.
Thank you for the excellent review from a new subscriber! The Celebrity Beyond was my only my second cruise and followed a Viking river cruise. I think the Celebrity Beyond was a very good fit for our Caribbean cruise that was a balance of ship resort style entertainment and destination excursions. The service and staff (including Captain Kate) were amazing and the food and drink were very good. Compared to Viking, I would say that the casino is not a plus for us, the "class" based system with Aqua and Suite status is a negative, and the glitzy on-board shops were a negative. We will certainly cruise with Celebrity again. But, when our trip is more destination focused, we will stick with Viking for their destination enrichment, inclusiveness, and omission of up-selling premium restaurants, luxury stores, photos, etc.

Thanks for your background, that was useful and you have an impressive sailing resume. Have you sailed any of Celebrity's other classes of ships? Solstice, Millennium, Century or Horizon class? I have a few issues with this Edge class of ship. 1. There are really no elegant lounges and not enough dance floors. 2. There aren't that many intimate spaces 3. The decor of the ship doesn't fit with the modernized art-deco-like decor of previous generations therefore it seems less Celebrity like than other classes of ships. But the biggest miss for me is lack of elegant lounges with dance floors. Solstice ships have much of the same features as this one but no comparable area to Eden (which doesn't appeal to me much). So, of the 3 classes of ships, Solstice is best as what Celebrity can represent IMO. I think in terms of food and service, it all depends on the crew and how well Celebrity is delivering on their product. When both are right, on any Celebrity ship, both are excellent. I'm glad to hear though you enjoyed your cruise on this ship though this ship is not for me.
looks nice. I'd assume that Viking is considerably more expensive than Celebrity. Celebrity seems the overall nicest of the 'mass market' lines (I consider Viking, Oceania, Silverseas, etc to be the next step up). We only did one Celebrity, and it was on one of the older ships, so it didn't have the contemporary 'wow' factor that the new ships have--but it was still good, very similar to Hal. Did you happen to notice if Celebrity had any happy hour drink deals? we don't drink nearly enough to warrant getting a drink package, but Hal Rotterdam had a good happy hour and we would sometimes get a drink or two then. But most ships don't have this and it's not any kind of deciding factor for us.

Loved the review and love the Beyond. I have been on all three Edge class ships and Beyond is my favorite mainly because of the upgrades at the Sunset bar. My only observation is that you missed the Spa and I love the Sea Thermal Suite, one of the main reasons I sail in Aqua Class, that and Blu.
Thank you for an excellent review. We are heading for our second trip on Beyond. This time we will be spending more time on the ship and trying more of the spaces. We were on the Mediterranean cruise and spent more time off the ship. The ship had so many venues, that we did not experience everything. This helps us to prioritize.
Great video! My wife and I are empty nesters, early 60’s and have never been on a cruise before. We are booked on Silversea for Alaska 06/2025. We are hoping that cruising will be as amazing as TH-cam makes it look. I have been researching Viking with hopes of booking a cruise for late 2025 or first quarter 2026. Your video of the Polaris actually got us thinking about an expedition cruise to Antarctica or South America & the Chilean Fjords on Viking Jupiter. This video has prompted me to look at celebrity but I’m not seeing an itinerary that jumps out at me. Any advice for an adult couple who are rather conservative and not big fans of long lines or immature people? We are not really interested in the Caribbean or the Mediterranean.
For the Chilean Fjords, I would try to stick with an expedition ship like Polaris. Jupiter is not equipped with Zodiacs so you would not get the up-close experience with the glaciers like you would with an expedition ship. Now, if you not mobile or not interested in Zodiac excursions, Viking Jupiter would be fine. Viking is one of our favorite cruise lines. Silversea is amazing and you will love it. Viking and Silversea are going to offer the biggest variety of destinations, and maybe even take a look at Crystal Cruises.

We took our first cruise ever a couple of days ago. We were really hesitant about cruising and we booked for Celebrity Reflection, probably is not the newest ship not the premium one, but we were really cautious since people we know were not very happy with their experiences in other companies. The service was beyond our expectations and now we are booking a second cruise with them. I’ll follow your account since I like the way you show the context of your reviews, excellent video!
I'd rather sail the Reflection. Newest isn't always best and the Reflection is by no means an old ship. And the Reflection is quite premium. In fact more so, in some ways than the Edge class ships like Beyond.
I’m looking to sail with them in April this year. I want to get the drinking package but my girlfriend doesn’t really drink but they still want to charge us per person for the cabin. Should I buy it while on board?

We cruised on the Beyond in early February, staying in a Sky Suite and enjoying the fabulous Retreat. Your review was excellent and we agreed with your many great points about the ship. We have already reserved for March ‘24. Captain Kate McCue is the best of the best.
Great review, but I find it strange that you put Celebrity and Viking in the same category. Celebrity is a large ship and belongs to mainstream/premium category. Viking is entry luxury, along with Oceania and Azamara. We sailed on Celebrity, Azamara and Oceania, they are in a different league. Cannot really put a 3,000+ ship in the same category as 700-900 passengers ships.

My wife & I have sailed on Edge and Apex over the last two years. Have Beyond booked for this coming January. Your video was very accurate and I agree with your assessment. We were devoted Princess cruisers but after two horrible cruises with them back to back we switched to Celebrity. We are happy that we made the move.
Going on it in September 2024. This will be our first cruise with this brand. Previously have only sailed with Carnival and my husband and I don’t feel like that’s our scene. Looking forward to the more adult cruise and the concierge room we booked.

I recently had a spinal injury, and now need a rolling walker to walk, or an electric scooter for longer distances, would you consider in future videos including information on how accessible a ship is? And show the handicapped rooms? We traveled on Princess last Christmas for the first time celebrating our 40th anniversary, so we booked the ONLY handicapped suite on Sky Princess! As there is a large aging baby boomer population, and a large amount of cruisers with various mobility issues, I am surprised that there are not more suites and handicapped balconies available for those of us who need them, after all, we like to cruise, too! And we have money to spend on travel. We have to book literally 2 to 4 years ahead just to get a handicapped room, as there are so few available. Please consider mentioning the accessibility features in future cruise videos. It is greatly needed and would be so appreciated. Thank you!
I really enjoy your unbiased take on cruising. My wife enjoys Princess (The rest of the family not so much) but your recent feature on Celebrity has won her over to cruising that line in early 2024. I have one request when showing menus could you linger on them a couple seconds longer?
I sailed on the Beyond in February of 2023. I sales on the Edge in February of 2022. Of the two ships, I feel the crew were more attentive and happy on the Edge. I won’t be sailing on the Beyond again.
If it's ok to ask, do they have player to player poker tables or only "Play against the house" Poker on the cruise? Love the video. Simple and straight forward and no annoying music lol

He does love to swim. My husband, older son, and I are really looking forward to cruising on the Beyond. In your opinions, will my 10-year-old son be okay? We are booked on the Beyond in a Sky Suite on Deck 10 mid ship. Does it take a long time to get to the Retreat area on Deck 16 given that it is forward and there's only elevators forward and aft on the ship? Thanks for the great video!
Hi, I am amazed there is no reference on how smooth the ship is compared to any other cruise that has the normal bow. There is no up or down even at the front theater with two to three meter high waves. All cruises that don’t have a inverted/parabolic bow should be downgraded two points out of 10. Luxury has hit a new generation in which the term “Sea legs” will be together with a fax machine. The most obvious feature should not be omitted.

I doubt seriously you will hate it. Some people don't spend much time in their stateroom anyway, so why spend the extra money? You will get the same ship experience, dining and entertainment as everyone else!
We set sail on the Beyond 1/24. It will be our first non-Viking, large capacity cruise. So we're spoiled by the Viking daily included excursions. How were the Offered excursions? And were they worth it? Thanks.

We’ve been on about 8 cruises and all have been with Celebrity except 1 Princess cruise to New England/Canada last fall. We agree with your assessment of Edge class ships and Celebrity. Loved the ship, food, entertainment and service staff. My only complaint is the Concierge level of service. Definitely not worth the $1500 up charge for which you get terrible snacks in the afternoon, a worthless debarkation venue, a 20 minute tour of the galley from a guy who could barely speak English, a terrible bottle of cheap champagne and a welcome lunch apart from the regulator guests. Don’t bother!!

I sailed on the Apex for a transatlantic in Nov of 2023. I will be taking the beyond for a Caribbean cruise for April of 2025. I loved the Apex and cant wait to try out the Beyond.
Sailed on Apex last April 2023 and very pleased overall, next time would do more Specialty Dinning restaurants. Love love to sail Ascent but looking at doing Oceania in Europe.
Celebrity has been our go to line unless we are looking for more varied destinations that Holland provides. Edge class is our favorite. Only down side, which goes across the industry, is the lack of availability for ballroom and latin dancing. Just got back from Beyond Southern Caribbean. I liked so much of the cruise. my only disappointment was the desserts. They reminded of a seriously fancy Chinese buffet. The choices looked pretty but weren't worth the calories. That is, except for their bread puddings. My favorite part of the cruise was Goria and our team in Cypress. They did a great job of attending to my wife's food allergies. I should mention, the Ocean View offered gluten free options but had very little concern about cross contamination. Often, gf was stacked next to regular days and she often witness staff using the same tongues for gf and tradituon. She also walked away from the pizza shop because of this.

You're comment about the friendliness of the crew is SO true, all crew members we encountered went out of their way to greet us with a smile. The meals we had were amazing!! We can't wait for our next Celebrity cruise.

Hello, once again you have done such a great review and so pertinent to all cruise fans. You seem so nice that we hope to see you one day on a cruise ship.
We have done 2 Edge class ships so far the Apex followed by the Beyond.
Both ships are very nice but for us the Beyond has all the minor upgrades that makes it our number one. We loved the new and larger design to the Sunset bar giving it an even more vibrant atmosphere. The central chandelier is also a better fit to the atrium making it a much larger sitting area to enjoy the great martinis and people watch. One of our favorite evening spot was the added World Class Bar that makes this cruise feel even more upscale with those special cocktails.
For us the Ultimate verandas was the perfect room as we are not big fans of a balcony cabin as we hardly go on it when we have one. So with the Infinite Veranda it made the room feel so much larger that we appreciated it.
As far as for service we felt that the Apex service was outstanding in all the area of our cruise compare to the Beyond. We found that on the Beyond the server in the MDR seemed rush and understaff as service was really slow and such had no time for smiles or engagement with its guests. That was pretty much the only area where the crew seemed a bit less friendly but not all there fault if they were understaff.
Celebrity is becoming one of our favourite cruise line lately that fills out all of favorite stuff in life.

Scheduled on the Beyond for October 23 to the Mediterranean. Looks like a good fit for me. I am a solo traveler in her 50s. I picked this cruise because it seemed like older crowd but not tooo old. I totally agree with the comments on the Sky Suite. Best value at sea for me. It’s the lowest cost entry to the Retreat and the perks seem to be a good value for the additional costs. Have been on both the Edge and Apex and am looking forward to finding an interesting itinerary for the Beyond!

Just come back of Edge loved the ship but did find it a little difficult to navigate could be because our cabin was at the front. Would have liked a magnifying mirror in cabin.
Booked on Beyond for next year but a midship cabin and an infinite balcony ( we had a porthole balcony on Edge which I actually liked to my suprise!)

Celebrity is our very favorite line. We have only been on 25 cruises but 15 of them have been Celebrity. They NEVER disappoint! We have been on the Edge and loved it. We completely agree with you about the The Celebrity ships. We sailed on the Beyond out of Southampton on its inaugural cruise and was very impressed with the decor, stateroom (infinite veranda), food and bar choices and the entertainment. The staff/crew were all very helpful and seemed to always have a bit of time to talk to you. Celebrity has been our favourite cruise line for many years and we look forward to sailing the oceans with them for many years to come 🤓
I think we were on Beyond the same week as you (you mentioned Valentine’s Day). I enjoyed watching your review and comparing with my own impressions. Overall I agree, beautiful modern ship. We loved our time there. Looking forward to your dining review. From what I gather you mostly visited Specialty dining restaurants and that I am sure made a big difference. We opted for just couple dinners there, otherwise using MDRs and Buffet. And while we mostly enjoyed MDRs, the Buffet was not good. Too crowded, fewer healthy options, average service.

After multiple cruises on Viking in PV cabins, we were unsure of taking cruises on a large ship. But after this review, and your several in depth reviews of the Apex Sky Suites and food last year, we just booked a Sky Suite on the Beyond last week! Now we have 11 months to wait, but we luckily have two Viking cruises in between. 😊

What an excellent video-based review! We've been on Apex twice; once in the Caribbean and once in the Med. We agree that the wifi was an issue; we had the basic wifi which was almost useless except for the Celebrity app. As a couple who enjoys quality wine we found the wines in the premium beverage package quite disappointing and mediocre. Our experience at the Fine Cut steakhouse was so disappointing. The food was surprisingly poor. We were a group of 8. The service was decent but we were completely ignored once a large group of about 40 entered the restaurant. In fact, we finished our meal and left without another visit from a single waiter. We will never do that again. We like Celebrity and have enjoyed other cruises with them. The Med. cruise excursions were fantastic. All in all, Celebrity is a very good cruise line, given our limited experience, and we will cruise with them again but we will stay away from the specialty restaurants.
We have sailed all three Edge class ships and agree that the Beyond is just fabulous. We will be back on in a couple weeks and will be on Ascent in January.
We really like the decor and relaxed atmosphere and adore cafe alBacio.
If the kids/grandkids are with us is probably Royal. The wife and I? It’s Celebrity.
Thank you for the excellent review from a new subscriber! The Celebrity Beyond was my only my second cruise and followed a Viking river cruise. I think the Celebrity Beyond was a very good fit for our Caribbean cruise that was a balance of ship resort style entertainment and destination excursions. The service and staff (including Captain Kate) were amazing and the food and drink were very good. Compared to Viking, I would say that the casino is not a plus for us, the "class" based system with Aqua and Suite status is a negative, and the glitzy on-board shops were a negative. We will certainly cruise with Celebrity again. But, when our trip is more destination focused, we will stick with Viking for their destination enrichment, inclusiveness, and omission of up-selling premium restaurants, luxury stores, photos, etc.
We just got off the Beyond 2 weeks ago (and did the Apex last year) and your review was spot on. The Celebrity Ascent is already booked for 2024.

Thanks for your background, that was useful and you have an impressive sailing resume. Have you sailed any of Celebrity's other classes of ships? Solstice, Millennium, Century or Horizon class? I have a few issues with this Edge class of ship. 1. There are really no elegant lounges and not enough dance floors. 2. There aren't that many intimate spaces 3. The decor of the ship doesn't fit with the modernized art-deco-like decor of previous generations therefore it seems less Celebrity like than other classes of ships. But the biggest miss for me is lack of elegant lounges with dance floors. Solstice ships have much of the same features as this one but no comparable area to Eden (which doesn't appeal to me much). So, of the 3 classes of ships, Solstice is best as what Celebrity can represent IMO. I think in terms of food and service, it all depends on the crew and how well Celebrity is delivering on their product. When both are right, on any Celebrity ship, both are excellent.
I'm glad to hear though you enjoyed your cruise on this ship though this ship is not for me.
looks nice. I'd assume that Viking is considerably more expensive than Celebrity. Celebrity seems the overall nicest of the 'mass market' lines (I consider Viking, Oceania, Silverseas, etc to be the next step up). We only did one Celebrity, and it was on one of the older ships, so it didn't have the contemporary 'wow' factor that the new ships have--but it was still good, very similar to Hal. Did you happen to notice if Celebrity had any happy hour drink deals? we don't drink nearly enough to warrant getting a drink package, but Hal Rotterdam had a good happy hour and we would sometimes get a drink or two then. But most ships don't have this and it's not any kind of deciding factor for us.

Loved the review and love the Beyond. I have been on all three Edge class ships and Beyond is my favorite mainly because of the upgrades at the Sunset bar. My only observation is that you missed the Spa and I love the Sea Thermal Suite, one of the main reasons I sail in Aqua Class, that and Blu.

Thank you for an excellent review. We are heading for our second trip on Beyond. This time we will be spending more time on the ship and trying more of the spaces. We were on the Mediterranean cruise and spent more time off the ship. The ship had so many venues, that we did not experience everything. This helps us to prioritize.
Booked for Christmas this year, hopefully there will be people in their twenties.

Great video! My wife and I are empty nesters, early 60’s and have never been on a cruise before. We are booked on Silversea for Alaska 06/2025. We are hoping that cruising will be as amazing as TH-cam makes it look. I have been researching Viking with hopes of booking a cruise for late 2025 or first quarter 2026. Your video of the Polaris actually got us thinking about an expedition cruise to Antarctica or South America & the Chilean Fjords on Viking Jupiter. This video has prompted me to look at celebrity but I’m not seeing an itinerary that jumps out at me. Any advice for an adult couple who are rather conservative and not big fans of long lines or immature people? We are not really interested in the Caribbean or the Mediterranean.
For the Chilean Fjords, I would try to stick with an expedition ship like Polaris. Jupiter is not equipped with Zodiacs so you would not get the up-close experience with the glaciers like you would with an expedition ship. Now, if you not mobile or not interested in Zodiac excursions, Viking Jupiter would be fine. Viking is one of our favorite cruise lines.
Silversea is amazing and you will love it. Viking and Silversea are going to offer the biggest variety of destinations, and maybe even take a look at Crystal Cruises.

We were really hesitant about cruising and we booked for Celebrity Reflection, probably is not the newest ship not the premium one, but we were really cautious since people we know were not very happy with their experiences in other companies. The service was beyond our expectations and now we are booking a second cruise with them. I’ll follow your account since I like the way you show the context of your reviews, excellent video!
I'd rather sail the Reflection. Newest isn't always best and the Reflection is by no means an old ship. And the Reflection is quite premium. In fact more so, in some ways than the Edge class ships like Beyond.
I’m looking to sail with them in April this year. I want to get the drinking package but my girlfriend doesn’t really drink but they still want to charge us per person for the cabin. Should I buy it while on board?
You will save if you pre-buy. Even if you buy on board, I think they will make you purchase for both of you.

We cruised on the Beyond in early February, staying in a Sky Suite and enjoying the fabulous Retreat. Your review was excellent and we agreed with your many great points about the ship. We have already reserved for March ‘24. Captain Kate McCue is the best of the best.

Great review, but I find it strange that you put Celebrity and Viking in the same category. Celebrity is a large ship and belongs to mainstream/premium category. Viking is entry luxury, along with Oceania and Azamara. We sailed on Celebrity, Azamara and Oceania, they are in a different league. Cannot really put a 3,000+ ship in the same category as 700-900 passengers ships.
It is a tough call to segment these various cruise lines. I would agree that Viking could be considered entry-level luxury, or high-end premium.

My wife & I have sailed on Edge and Apex over the last two years. Have Beyond booked for this coming January. Your video was very accurate and I agree with your assessment. We were devoted Princess cruisers but after two horrible cruises with them back to back we switched to Celebrity. We are happy that we made the move.

I recently had a spinal injury, and now need a rolling walker to walk, or an electric scooter for longer distances, would you consider in future videos including information on how accessible a ship is? And show the handicapped rooms? We traveled on Princess last Christmas for the first time celebrating our 40th anniversary, so we booked the ONLY handicapped suite on Sky Princess! As there is a large aging baby boomer population, and a large amount of cruisers with various mobility issues, I am surprised that there are not more suites and handicapped balconies available for those of us who need them, after all, we like to cruise, too! And we have money to spend on travel. We have to book literally 2 to 4 years ahead just to get a handicapped room, as there are so few available. Please consider mentioning the accessibility features in future cruise videos. It is greatly needed and would be so appreciated. Thank you!
I would say that most of the newer ships on the major cruise lines are addressing this.

Absolutely! The only downside is that once you sail on Celebrity, you might be spoiled for any other cruise line.
We have been on 42 cruises and we do love Celebrity.

I sailed on the Beyond in February of 2023. I sales on the Edge in February of 2022. Of the two ships, I feel the crew were more attentive and happy on the Edge. I won’t be sailing on the Beyond again.

Great review! Thank you. We have a 10-year-old that will be cruising with me, my husband, and 22-year-old son. He hasn’t really used water slides or typical kid activities on other cruise lines. He does love to swim. My husband, older son, and I are really looking forward to cruising on the Beyond. In your opinions, will my 10-year-old son be okay? He does tend to act older than he is due to hanging around an older brother.

We are booked on the Beyond in a Sky Suite on Deck 10 mid ship. Does it take a long time to get to the Retreat area on Deck 16 given that it is forward and there's only elevators forward and aft on the ship? Thanks for the great video!
We were also midship on Deck 10 and it was not too bad getting to the Retreat. Are are booking Deck 10 midship again on Ascent.
Hi, I am amazed there is no reference on how smooth the ship is compared to any other cruise that has the normal bow.
There is no up or down even at the front theater with two to three meter high waves.
All cruises that don’t have a inverted/parabolic bow should be downgraded two points out of 10.
Luxury has hit a new generation in which the term “Sea legs” will be together with a fax machine.
The most obvious feature should not be omitted.
It is hard to put everything into a single video. We will be doing a video on "things we forgot to mention" and I will make sure to include that.

I doubt seriously you will hate it. Some people don't spend much time in their stateroom anyway, so why spend the extra money? You will get the same ship experience, dining and entertainment as everyone else!

Loved the ship, food, entertainment and service staff. My only complaint is the Concierge level of service. Definitely not worth the $1500 up charge for which you get terrible snacks in the afternoon, a worthless debarkation venue, a 20 minute tour of the galley from a guy who could barely speak English, a terrible bottle of cheap champagne and a welcome lunch apart from the regulator guests. Don’t bother!!

I sailed on the Apex for a transatlantic in Nov of 2023. I will be taking the beyond for a Caribbean cruise for April of 2025. I loved the Apex and cant wait to try out the Beyond.
Sailed on Apex last April 2023 and very pleased overall, next time would do more Specialty Dinning restaurants. Love love to sail Ascent but looking at doing Oceania in Europe.
Celebrity has been our go to line unless we are looking for more varied destinations that Holland provides. Edge class is our favorite. Only down side, which goes across the industry, is the lack of availability for ballroom and latin dancing. We agree with your thorough cruise review and look forward to celebrating Bug Naked’s birthday with Captain Kate later this month.
Our cruise director did conduct dance classes on this cruise. I don't recall any dance classes on Apex. Tell Kate and Bug that we said hi!
Edge class is not good for those wanting to dance. Solstice class is very good for dancing. HAL is excellent for dancing and so is Princess.

Just got back from Beyond Southern Caribbean. I liked so much of the cruise. my only disappointment was the desserts. They reminded of a seriously fancy Chinese buffet. The choices looked pretty but weren't worth the calories. That is, except for their bread puddings. My favorite part of the cruise was Goria and our team in Cypress. They did a great job of attending to my wife's food allergies.
I should mention, the Ocean View offered gluten free options but had very little concern about cross contamination. Often, gf was stacked next to regular days and she often witness staff using the same tongues for gf and tradituon. She also walked away from the pizza shop because of this.
